Day 4 / TuesdayFreiburg - Colmar - Strasbourg - Freiburg The Rhine River forms the na-tural border between Germany and France. After crossing the river we arrive in Colmar. We conti-nue to a small traditional Black Forest farm where we have a cheese tasting and you see the real Black Forest. After that we continue the tour to the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance, which offers specta-cular views of the Alps. Depen-ding on weather conditions, we will take the Alpine road from Lindau to Oberstaufen and Im-menstadt to our final destina-tion Füssen, the southernmost point on our tour of Romantic Germany. Along the way, we visit the Wieskirche Church and take a brief stop at the Ettal Benedicti-ne Abbey before continuing the tour to visit Linderhof Palace. This is one of the three castles built by King Ludwig II of Bava-ria and the only one where the king actually lived for a signifi-cant amount of time. Return to Füssen. Later on, still during the morning, you will sail along the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine River, the Lorelei Valley, and its countless forts and anci-ent castles. Day 1 Frankfurt - Rüdesheim - HeidelbergThe first day of your culinary tour through Germany leads you to the southwestern part of Germany. On the way from Frankfurt to Rüdesheim you

see vineyards on the slopes of the Rhine river, Germany’s lon-gest river. In Rüdesheim you will visit a wine museum and taste the regional wine (March-October). After that it is time for a delicious lunch, including the “Rheinischer Sauerbraten” (pot roast marinated in vine-gar). The dish is typical for the regions along the Rhine River . In the afternoon continue to Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town.

The surroundings of Lake Constance are not only famous for wine but also for its fruit plantations such as apples and pears.

Day 3 Lake Constance - MunichToday you leave Germany’s wine region and reach the ca-

pital of Bavaria, famous for its beer culture as well as for hearty meals . Upon arrival in Munich enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city including the most famous attractions such as the elegant Marienplatz with its famous clock tower. In the evening you have a real Bavarian experience: dinner at a local and authentic Bavarian restaurant where you can try a Bavarian “Schweinshaxe” (pork knuckle) with freshly drafted beer.

Day 4 Munich Today enjoy a “Munich Beer Tour”. During this walking tour you visit micro-breweries where you can try different ty-

Day 5 Munich - Nuremberg After breakfast travel to Nu-remberg, located in Franconia. The Highlight of the afternoon is an interesting tour through the underground cellars of Nu-remberg, where you learn more

about the history and the ela-boration process of beer since the 19th century. The tour ends with a presentation and tasting of a local beer.

Day 1 FrankfurtArrival at Frankfurt airport and transfer to the hotel . The rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure. Frankfurt is the financial and commercial heart of Germany, a city full of fasci-nating contrasts between mo-dern development and historic landmarks.

Day 2 Frankfurt - Heidelberg - Black Forest In the morning we travel from Frankfurt to Heidelberg. Visit the famous castle ascending with the cable car and enjoy a sightseeing tour of its historic city center. Idyllically located on the shores of the Neckar River, Heidelberg is Germany’s oldest university town and one of the most popular destinati-ons in the country. We conti-nue to the famous Black Forest region. This night we have an authentic experience: Enjoy a typical Black Forest dinner and overnight in a romanti-cally located hotel. If you like, take a little walk to the beau-tiful Ravenna Gorge or see the region’s oldest chapel, both are next to the hotel.

We conti-nue to a small traditional Black Forest farm where we have a cheese tasting and you see the real Black Forest. After that we travel to Lake Titisee, nestled in the legendary Black Forest and we continue the tour to the small island of Lindau in Lake Constance, which offers spec-tacular views of the Alps. De-pending on weather conditions we take the Alpine road from Lindau to Oberstaufen and Im-menstadt to our final destinati-on Füssen, the southernmost point on our tour of Romantic Germany .

Day 4 Neuschwanstein - Wies-kirche - Oberammergau - Lin-derhof - InnsbruckWe start the day with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, built by Ludwig II, the notorious “Mad King“. This castle served as an inspiration to Walt Disney when he built the castle of Sleeping Beauty in Disneyland. At midday we travel to Oberammergau, famous for its Passion Play and lovely crafts. Along the way we visit the Wieskirche Church be-fore continuing the tour to visit Linderhof Palace. This is one of the 3 castles built by King Lud-wig II of Bavaria and the only one where the king actually lived for a significant amount of time. After a brief stop at the Ettal Benedictine Abbey we con-tinue to our final destination,

Innsbruck. Day 5 Innsbruck - MunichIn the morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Innsbruck (Austria), located in the gorge-ous deep valley of the River Inn, between the scenic Karwendel Mountains to the north and Tuxer Mountains to the south. In the afternoon we travel to Munich.

Day 6 MunichAfter breakfast we visit the city’s main attractions, concluding the tour at the Marienplatz square with its famous clock tower. Mu-nich, the capital of the state of Bavaria is famous for its Okto-berfest, which is annually cele-brated in September. The after-noon is free to explore at your leisure. In the evening you enjoy a traditional Bavarian dinner.

Day 7 Munich - NurembergAfter breakfast we travel to Nu-remberg. We visit Nuremberg’s historic city center and learn more about its impressive histo-ry and see the well-preserved castle, Gothic churches, roman-tic houses and peaceful squares.

Traditions of BavariaDay 1 Munich – BerchtesgadenDeparture from Munich to Berchtesgaden, a typical village of the Alps at the foot of the Watzmann mountain, is known for its salt mines and the "Kö-nigssee" (King's lake) which is famous for having the most crystal clear water in Germany, if the time allows you can take a boat trip on the lake (not in-cluded).

Day 2 Berchtesgaden – FüssenIn the morning visit the Salz-bergwerk mine, then travel along the sub-alpine road until you reach Füssen, a village at the foot of the Alps. On the way stop at Lake Chiemsee, the "Ba-varian Sea" and climb by cable car to the Kampenwand (1,500 m). Continue to Füssen.

Day 3 Füssen - Neunschwan-stein - Rothenburg ob der TauberThe day starts with a visit to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle, which seems to come from a fairy tale. It was built by the "Mad King" Louis II and served Walt Disney as an inspiration for the castle of the Sleeping Beau-ty. Then continue the trip to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the most important medieval cities in Germany.

Day 4 Rothenburg ob der Tau-ber – WürzburgAfter breakfast, visit Rothen-burg ob der Tauber, a walk through this city is like a trip through past centuries; its image has not changed since the Middle Ages: with its ex-ceptionally well-preserved half-timbered houses, its historic town hall surrounded by the extensive medieval wall. Then travel to Würzburg, a beautiful city on the banks of the Main River. Panoramic tour of the city and a visit of the Residence of Würzburg.

Day 5 Würzburg – Bamberg - Nuremberg The trip continues to Nuremberg and on the way you will stop in Bamberg, located in the north of

Bavaria, famous for its beer and its old town center (UNESCO). Upon arrival in Nuremberg visit the city with its old town, its fa-mous Gothic churches, heritage sites and its impressive and well-preserved castle.

Day 6 Nuremberg - Múnich In the morning, travel to Mu-nich, the famous Bavarian ca-pital, enjoy a panoramic tour of the city and its main attrac-tions such as the "Marienplatz" square, Munichs geographical and social center. Then transfer to the airport .


Castles along the Rhine and MoselleDay 1 Frankfurt - Kamp-Born-hofen - Liebenstein CastleThe tour begins in Frankfurt and follows the Rhine to Rü-desheim. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Rüdesheim’s old hi-storic center. Next we embark on a cruise and sail along the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine River, the Lorelei Valley (approx. 1.5 hrs; from Novem-ber to March the boat tour is not guaranteed). Disembark at Kamp-Bornhofen and ascend to Liebenstein Castle, which to-wers high above the village and offers a beautiful view of the Rhine. Accommodation in this 13th-century castle. The rooms have been beautifully restored in medieval style.

Day 2 Kamp-Bornhofen - Koblenz - Ehrenburg CastleAfter breakfast, travel to the ancient Roman city of Koblenz, one of the oldest cities in Ger-many. Then continue to the “Deutsches Eck” (the German Corner), where the Moselle meets the Rhine. Cross the ri-ver in a panoramic cable car for a spectacular view. On the other side of the river, we visit the Ehrenbreitstein Fort, the second largest fort in Europe. Then continue along the Mo-

selle river and the Ehrbachtal Valley. Ascend to Ehrenburg Castle, where you spend the night .

Day 3 Ehrenburg Castle - Moselle river valley - TrierIn the morning we tour several villages nestled in the Moselle river valley. In Cochem we visit the famous Burg Eltz castle. En-joy a wine tasting. The next sec-tion of the tour will be by boat as you cruise along the Moselle to Bernkastel-Kues, a beautiful and romantic town on the river banks. Today’s final destination is the town of Trier, an old Ro-man settlement with more than 2000 years of history. Enjoy a wine tasting.

Day 4 Trier - HeidelbergIn the morning there is time to explore the lovely historic buil-

dings of Trier. Then continue to one of the most popular desti-nations in all of Germany: Hei-delberg. Along the way we pass through the city of Speyer and visit its magnificent cathedral, a UNESCO Cultural Heritage mo-nument. Today’s final destinati-on is Heidelberg where we visit the famous castle and stroll through the historical centre. Heidelberg is Germany’s oldest university town.

Day 5 Heidelberg - FrankfurtReturn to Frankfurt. Along the way, we travel through the city of Worms, also known as the city of Nibelungen. The Worms cathedral is one of the most stunning Romanesque churches in Germany, rivaling the beauty of the cathedrals of Speyer and Mainz. After a city tour, the pro-gram ends in Frankfurt.

Eastern HighlightsDay 1 Berlin - DresdenIn the morning travel to Dres-den. Dresden is one of the most charming cities in Central Eu-rope, nicknamed “Florence on the Elbe”. Visit the recently re-stored Frauenkirche church, the famous Dresden Opera House, the Imperial Zwinger palace and stroll along the Elbe River.

Day 2 Dresden - “Saxon Swit-zerland” - Dresden“Saxon Switzerland”, located southeast of Dresden, features exotic sandstone formations that dot the landscape. Sail by steam-boat on the Elbe River to the Pill-nitz Palace. Distinctly different from other German palaces and castles, this palace was built in a Chinese style. Continue by car to the “Bastion”, the symbol of Saxon Switzerland. The lookout on top of this 305 meter high

rock offers an impressive view of the Saxon Swiss landscape, the Elbe River and the Bastion Bridge. This sandstone bridge, constructed in 1851, crosses a 40 meter deep gorge. Return to Dresden in the afternoon.

Day 3 Dresden - Meissen - WeimarIn the morning depart for Wei-mar. Along the way we visit Moritzburg Castle. Nestled in a romantic landscape of lakes and forests, this baroque castle ser-ved as the movie set for “Three Wishes for Cinderella”. Then continue to Meissen, the first town in Europe to manufacture porcelain . Visit the city’s histo-ric center and tour its main at-traction: the Meissen porcelain factory. Fascinating Switzerland Day 1 Zurich - Gruyeres - MontreuxTravel from Zurich to Montreux. On the way we stop to visit a local cheese maker in Gruyeres where you learn more about the cheese production. Then vi-sit the Cailler Chocolate Factory with a chocolate tasting. Arrival in Montreux, which is a lovely city located on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Day 2 Montreux - Lausanne - MontreuxIn the morning we take the railway up to Rochers-de-Naye (2.000 m). A singular panoramic view awaits: over the Swiss and French Alps from Eiger to Mont-Blanc and further to Lake Gene-va. Later we continue to visit the wonderful Chillon Castle whose photos are present in almost each of Switzerland’s calendars. Next we go to Lausanne. Lausan-ne is a picturesque city located on the shores of Lake Geneva surrounded by vineyards. Pa-noramic city tour and return to Montreux.

Day 3 Montreux - ZermattTravel to Zermatt. On our way we pass through the wine area of Sion. Then we continue through the valley of the Ro-dano river to Täsch. Here you board a train to Zermatt, which is located at the foot of the im-pressive Mount Cervin.

Day 4 ZermattFree day to take an optional tour to the “Matterhorn Glacier Paradise”, board the cable car to the top of the 3 .883 meter “little” Matterhorn to enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Cervin which is located just on the opposite side. Day 5 Zermatt - LuganoAfter breakfast return to Täsch by train. Day 5 Interlaken - Trümmel-bach Waterfalls/Falls - Jung-fraujoch - Interlaken The day begins with a trip to the Lauterbrunnen Valley to visit the impressive Trummel-bach waterfalls inside the mountains. The Trummelbach drains the water of the glaciers Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch. La-ter you have the possibility to do an exciting and unforgetta-ble tour (optional, not incl.) to Jungfraujoch, which is consi-dered ”Top of Europe” that has been declared a natural world heritage site by the UNESCO.

Day 6 Interlaken - St. Beatus Caves - Bern After breakfast travel to Bern. The statue of the mu-sicians next to the beautiful city hall and the statue of Roland have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. In the afternoon we travel to Hamburg.

Day 4 Hamburg Free day at your leisure to ex-plore Hamburg. Although 100 km from the ocean, Hamburg owes its fame to its world re-nowned port. Hamburg has more bridges than Venice and features many lovely at-tractions, such as the Michel Church (the city’s symbol) and the Jungfernstieg and City Hall.

Day 5 Hamburg - Lübeck - SchwerinTravel from Hamburg to Lü-beck. This city with its lovely old houses was once one of the most important centers of the Hanseatic League and was declared a UNESCO world he-ritage site in 1987. Continue to Schwerin, famous for its castle that stands on an island in the center of town.

Day 6 Schwerin - BerlinVisit the Schwerin Castle and then continue to Berlin, the capital of Germany. A divided city during the Cold War, Berlin is now one of the most impor-tant cultural centers in Europe and boasts exquisite museums, such as the Pergamon, and fas-cinating architecture, such as Potsdam Square.

Day 7 BerlinIn the morning visit some of the many attractions of Ber-lin, including the Brandenburg Gate, the Island of Museums (a UNESCO Site) and the German Parliament building. In the af-ternoon enjoy a pleasant river cruise on the Spree (approx. 1 hour) and some free time.

Day 8 Berlin - Potsdam - Wei-marVisit Potsdam and the Sanssou-ci Palace (UNESCO). The former residence of the Prussian kings is a lovely city filled with pa-laces and gardens. Next we tra-vel to Weimar, the home town of famous personalities such as Goethe, Schiller, Bach and Liszt.

Day 9 Weimar - BambergSightseeing tour of Weimar. The cradle of the Bauhaus mo-vement and the 1999 European Cultural Capital, Weimar fea-tures an amazing collection of classic architecture. In the af-ternoon continue to Bamberg, located in northern Bavaria. The town is famous for its beer and features a lovely old city center (UNESCO). Day 10 Bamberg - Nuremberg - MunichIn the morning we briefly pass through Nuremberg, a metro-polis that has preserved much of its medieval charm. Our final destination today is Munich, the capital of the state of Bavaria . Munich is known around the world for its Oktoberfest, the largest beer festival in the world, the Bayern München football team and the BMW cars that are manufactured here.

Day 11 MunichIn the morning visit the city’s best known attractions, such as the Marienplatz square with the elegant city hall, the bustling Viktualienmarkt with delicious gourmet products and the Hof-bräuhaus brewery. In the after-noon you are free to explore this friendly city at your leisure and relax in a beer garden with a glass of outstanding local beer.

Day 12 Munich - Wieskirche - FüssenOn the way to Füssen we visit Oberammergau, a picturesque town known for its Passion play,

Day 1 MunichIn the morning visit the city of Munich and its most important monuments like the Cathedral of the Virgin and the Marien-platz. You learn more about the birthplace of the Nazi Par-ty and where Hitler fought his way to power. See buildings and memorials connected with the Nazi Party: the Königsplatz where the Nazi Party´s mass rallies were held, Hofbräuhaus

Day 2 Munich - Berchtesga-den - Munich Travel to Berchtesgaden and explore this beautiful, traditi-onal Bavarian village. You visit the “Eagle‘s Nest“, which was built as a present for Hitler‘s 50th birthday. The region of Berchtesgaden later served as an important strategic ob-jective for the Allied forces in World War II.

The remains of buil-dings and the permanent exhi-bition „Fascination and Terror“ outline causes, context and the consequences of the regime of terror .

Day 5 Nuremberg - Berlin After breakfast travel to Berlin. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.

Day 6 BerlinVisit numerous landmarks, du-bious monuments and colossal buildings that stand as stone witnesses to the disastrous dic-tatorship of terror. Day 7 Berlin Today visit of the House of the Wannsee Conference that was used from 1941 to 1945 by the SS as a conference center and guest house. Day 1 Berlin - Terezin - Prague Today continue to Terezín and see the former Theresienstadt concentration camp. This tragic and dark place reminds about the history and horrors of a Jewish Ghetto where tens of thousands of innocent people had to die.

Day 2 Prague After breakfast visit the “City of Gold” and hear about Je-wish History and visit sites con-nected to Reinhard Heydrich, the Deputy Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia. Visit the only Jewish municipal area in Central Europe which survived the Holocaust. Walk through the Old Town Cemetery and through Maisel Street to the Old Town Square.

Day 3 Prague - Walbrzych - Wroclaw Enroute to Wroclaw stop in Walbrzych, located in the Owl Mountains of southwestern Poland, a place where the Nazis built one of the largest military enterprises during the World War II. The secret project Riese (Giant Complex) consisted of numerous underground tun-nels and shelters. Continue to Wroclaw, once the German city of Breslau that was home to a large Jewish population.

Day 4 Wroclaw - Auschwitz-Birkenau - Krakow Continue to Auschwitz-Birke-

nau, a former concentration camp that became a symbol of terror, genocide and the Holocaust, all over the world. Like other parts of Poland, Aus-chwitz was occupied by the Germans during World War II. In 1940 the Nazis established the largest of the german con-centration camps here.

Day 5 Krakow and Oskar Schindler´s ListToday you visit the Emalia Ena-mel Factory that was run by Os-kar Schindler in Krakow. Learn more about the incredible sto-ry of the man who worked on and on to save as many Jews as he could. In the afternoon you hear more about Krakow with its monuments and complex hi-story, visit the site of the Krakow Ghetto and the Heroes Square.

Day 6 Krakow - WarsawAfter breakfast travel to War-saw. Upon arrival enjoy a pano-ramic city tour of Warsaw, the capital city of Poland. During the tour you see the most im-portant places in the city .

Day 2 Berlin - WittenbergThe trip begins with a city tour of Berlin. Visit attractions like the Brandenburg Gate, the ca-thedral of Berlin, the German Parliament building and the lo-vely boulevards. Then we travel to the city of Wittenberg, where we visit the house of Martin Lu-ther that has been transformed into the most important muse-um of the Reformation. Next, we visit the Luther’s tomb in the Schlosskirche church. We also stop by the St. Mary church.

Day 3 Wittenberg - Torgau - LeipzigThe tour continues to Torgau, traveling through the landscape along the Elbe River. In Torgau,

visit the Hartenfels Palace and its chapel, the first Reformation church consecrated by Luther. We also visit the grave of Katha-rina von Bora, Luther’s wife. We pause in front of the building where the main ideas in the ar-ticles of Torgau were developed. Day 4 Leipzig - Eisleben - ErfurtAfter breakfast we travel to Eisleben, “the City of Martin Luther” and UNESCO World He-ritage Monument. In Eisleben we visit the house where Luther was born and where he died.

Other attractions on our itinera-ry include the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, where he was bap-tized, as well as the church of St. Andrews, where he held his final sermon. In the afternoon we continue to Erfurt, where Luther became a monk. We also have the opportunity to visit the Augustine Monastery, Martin Luther’s religious community.

Day 5 Erfurt - Eisenach - Frank-furtIn the morning there is time for sightseeing in Erfurt. Attractions include the St. Mary church and Krämerbrücke bridge. The tour continues to Eisenach. Take a guided tour of the impressive Wartburg Castle, where Luther translated the New Testament into German. Visit the Latin school and Bach Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Mo-nument. The tour concludes in Frankfurt.

Huldrych Zwingli led the Pro-testant Reformation from Zurich in the 1520´s and his pastoral office was located at the Grossmunster Church, a Romanesque-style Protestant church. Day 2 Zurich - Basel - BernToday we travel to the “cultural city of Switzerland”, Basel. En-joy a short visit of the city that is located on the Rhine River where the Swiss, French and German borders clash. In 1534 Calvin was induced to leave his home and to seek safety in free Switzerland. Here Calvin publis-hed his “Christian religious doc-trine”. Our last destination for

today is Bern, the capital city of Switzerland.

Day 3 Bern - Lausanne - GenevaIn the morning we enjoy a sight-seeing tour of Bern, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Refor-mation in Bern was prepared in the city and throughout the canton by three ministers Se-bastian Meyer, Bert-hold Haller and Francis Kolb and by a gifted layman Niclaus Manuel, who were all friends of Zwingli. On the way to Geneva short stop in Lausanne, where the pastor Pi-erre Viret, known as “the angel of the reformation” established a Reformed Academy.

Day 4 Geneva In the morning we enjoy a pa-noramic tour of Geneva. First we visit St. Pierre´s Cathedral that belongs to the Swiss Re-formed Church now. After visit

The Roots ofReformation

Day 1 Berlin - WittenbergWe start the day with a city tour of Berlin. We see the famous Brandenburg Gate, the Cathe-dral, the Reichstag building and the lovely boulevards. Then proceed to Wittenberg.

Day 2 Wittenberg - Torgau - Leipzig We proceed to Wittenberg, designated as “Lutherstadt” (“Luther Town”). It was here that Luther gained notoriety by posting his 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church, spar-king the movement that would

become the Reformation. In Torgau we visit the sites asso-ciated with Katharina Von Bora, including her grave in St. Mary’s Church.

Day 3 Leipzig - Eisleben - Er-furtIn the morning you visit Leipzig and the Thomaskirche, where J.S. Bach served as choirmaster for 25 years and where Luther preached and introduced his ideas for the reformation to the people. Upon arrival in Eisleben you enjoy a city tour that inclu-des the houses where Luther

was born in 1483, and where he died in 1546.

Day 4 Erfurt - Eisenach - Schmalkalden - ErfurtIn the morning we start our excursion to Eisenach. Enjoy a guided tour of Wartburg Castle where Luther translated the Bible. You also visit the Luther and Bach Memorials and the Luther House, where he lived during grammar school. On the way back to Erfurt, brief visit of Schmalkalden - founding city of the Schmalkaldic League.

Day 5 Erfurt - Coburg - WürzburgIn the morning enjoy a sight-seeing tour of Erfurt including St. Mary’s Cathedral where Luther was ordained as priest. Visit the Augustinian Monaste-ry where Luther lived as a monk and admire the Krämerbrücke. Then we continue to the me-dieval city of Coburg where we visit the famous Veste Coburg, the fortress where Luther took refuge and lived during the Augsburg Confession. Our last destination for today is Würz-burg.

Day 6 Würzburg - Rothenburg ob der Tauber - HeidelbergDuring the morning we visit the ancient town of Würzburg, known as “the jewel of the Main River“, considered one of Germany’s loveliest towns. One of the highlights of your trip will be today’s visit to Rothenburg, the best preserved medieval town in all of Europe. During this walking tour you visit St. Jacob´s Church with the renow-ned Blood Altar. Then continue to Heidelberg.

Day 7 Heidelberg - StrasbourgIn the morning we visit Hei-delberg, it is the very symbol of German Romanticism and home to Germany‘s oldest Uni-versity, where Martin Luther held one of his earliest debates with church leaders. Visit the famous Heidelberg Castle and tour the historic city center. Du-ring the afternoon we travel to the City of Strasbourg.

Day 8 Strasbourg - Speyer - WormsThis morning enjoy a panora-mic and walking tour of this historic city of Strasbourg and visit Notre Dame Cathedral, that in 1524 was assigned to the Protestant faith by the City Council. See Petite France and the old city with its backdrop of picturesque canals and take 45 minute scenic boat ride which provides a unique view of the heart of this beautiful city as it navigates some of the canals . In the afternoon we leave for Speyer. The city has a compact historic center that is domi-nated by the Speyer Cathe-dral, several churches and the Old Town Gate. The cathedral houses the tombs of eight Ger-man emperors and kings.

Day 9 Worms - Mainz - FrankfurtToday we enjoy a brief walking tour in Worms to see the site of the Worms Debates (Diet of Worms), the Reformation Monument, St. Peters, and the Church of the Holy Trinity. We continue to Mainz, where we visit the city and the Guten-berg Museum. You also see its most prized exhibit, the world-famous Gutenberg Bible, the first major book printed in the West using movable type. Also in the heart of Mainz you see St. Martin’s Cathedral consi-dered the high point of Roma-nesque cathedral architecture in Germany. The trip ends in Frankfurt.

Day 1 Vienna Upon arrival at the airport of Vienna trans-fer to the hotel. Welcome drink and time to rest. Tonight exclusive dinner on the ferris wheel in the Prater attractions/amusement park. In your private cabin you can enjoy the captivating view of the city. Furthermo-re, you enjoy a full romantic environment during a candlelight dinner which has been prepared especially for you.

Day 2 Vienna In the morning you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Vienna in a traditional Fiaker, which is the best way to go back to the old Vienna and enjoy the experience aboard the traditional horse-drawn carriage. Austria’s current ca-pital and the former capital of the Austrian-Hungarian empire is one of the most im-portant cultural centers in Europe and one of the most romantic cities in the world. Visit the city’s famous operas and beautiful parks, admire the Baroque architecture and the Prater listen to classical music, explore the home town of composers such as Be-ethoven, Mozart or Haydn and sample the world renowned chocolate Sachertorte. You also visit the Hofburg and the palace of Schönbrunn. In the evening you have the option of enjoying a gala dinner with live classical music (not included).

Day 3 Vienna - Krems - Dürnstein Depart from Vienna and travel to the Wach-au Valley, a beautiful scenic landscape do-minated by the Danube river. One of the

popular tourist destinations in lower Aus-tria, the valley lies between the towns of Melk and Krems. Another well-known desti-nation is Dürnstein, where King Richard the Lionheart from England was held captive by Duke Leopold V. Enjoy a boat trip on the Da-nube. Accommodation at the elegant hotel castle of Schloss Dürnstein.

Day 4 Dürnstein - Melk - Linz - Salzburg After breakfast we travel to the Danube val-ley and visit the Benedict Abbey of Melk, Austria’s most significant example of baro-que architecture. Stop in Linz, located on the banks of the Danube, before arriving in Salzburg in the evening.

Day 5 Salzburg - Lake District (Salzkam-mergut) - Salzburg Start the day with a sightseeing tour of Salz-burg. The historic center seems to be domi-nated by church spires, medieval forts and, especially, the Hohensalzburg Fortress. On top of all these attractions, Salzburg is also the birthplace of composer W. A. Mozart.

In the afternoon we explore the lovely Lake District of Salzburg. Take the cable car to the top of Mount Zwölferhorn to enjoy the spectacular views of Wolfgangsee Lake. At night return to Salzburg. In the evening you have the option of enjoying a gala dinner with live classical music (not included).

Day 6 Salzburg - Wörthersee In the morning we travel to the alpine lake of Wörthersee. The lake is an important tourist attraction, located on the border of three countries: Austria, Slovenia and Italy. The lake is a favorite destination for Austri-ans, who are attracted by its Mediterrane-an-like climate, friendly atmosphere and idyllic setting between hills and mountains. Day 7 Wörthersee - Graz - Stegersbach After breakfast we travel to Graz, a won-derful student town, which was nominated the European Capital of Culture in the year 2003. Graz is also known as the city of de-sign, due to its high numbers of museums, galleries and independent fashion shops that offer models from local and internati-onal designers. Enjoy a tour of the old city center of Graz, a UNESCO world heritage site. In the evening you can relax in the spa of Hotel Falkenstein Balance Resort Ste-gersbach, only 50 km from Graz where you stay for the last night of your tour. At night a delicious farewell dinner awaits you in one of the best restaurants in town.

Day 8 Stegersbach - Graz - Vienna The morning is at your leisure in Graz. You can continue exploring the cultural life of the city or climb the Schlossberg that offers a panoramic view of the city. In the after-noon travel back to Vienna to conclude the tour at the airport.Hofburg Palace, Vienna / Austria
