1. 서류 심사및구술₩면접시험

•모든지원자(심리학과제외)는 반드시구술·면접시험에참석해야함

•심리학과지원자는구술·면접시험대상자를별도로통보함.

•국외거주등부득이한사유로당일구술·면접시험에참석이어려울시전화면접으로대체할수있음.

•서류심사 100점 •구술₩면접시험 100점

3. 선발기준

가. 합격자는선발단위별서류심사와구술₩면접시험점수를합한순위에따라선발.

나. 지원자의수준이적정하지않다고판단될경우에는모집인원에상관없이선발하지않을수있음.

다. 동점자의경우에는우리대학교에서정한동점자처리기준에의하여선발.

라. 구술₩면접시험에서 수학능력 부적합 판정을 받은 자, 국외거주 외국인 등으로서 통신수단을 통한 구술₩면접대상자가 아닌

지원자가구술₩면접시험에결시하는경우에는불합격처리됨.

○언어능력기준：아래의 언어능력관련 예외 적용자를 제외한 모든 지원자는 다음의 가, 나 중 어느 하나에 해

당하는 언어능력 성적표를 제출해야 합니다. 다만, 국어국문학과, 불어불문학과, 중국문화학과, 사학과, 경제

학과는 반드시 한국어능력시험(S-TOPIK) 4급 이상을 갖추어 지원하여야 합니다. 아트&테크놀로지학과는

반드시 (나)항의영어능력기준을갖추어지원하여야합니다.

가. 한국어능력시험：S-TOPIK 4급 이상

나. 영어능력시험：TOEFL PBT 550점(CBT 210점, IBT 80점), TEPS 550점, IELTS 5.5점 이상중택일

○언어능력기준예외사항

•국제한국학과, 이학 및 공학계열 지원자의 경우 언어능력조건(지원시 위 기준성적 이상 해당 언어능력성

적표 제출)을 면제합니다. 다만, 위 기준에서 정하는 한국어나 영어 성적표 제출 여부 등에 따라 장학금

을 차등 지급합니다.

•영어가모국어인국가의지원자는영어능력시험성적표(TOEFL 등) 제출을면제합니다.

•국내 대학(원)에서 학위를 취득하거나취득예정자및 국내 정규 4년제 대학 한국어교육원에서 5급 이상 자

격취득자는 S-TOPIK 4급 이상 성적표가 없더라도 지원 가능하나 합격 후 S-TOPIK 4급 이상 제출여부

및제출시기에따라장학금지급여부를결정합니다.

○ 인문사회계열 지원자 중 한국어가 아닌 영어로만 수업이 가능한 지원자는 반드시 사전에 해당 학과장과

상담후지원하시기바랍니다.

○ 영어영문학과 TETL 박사과정지원자는아래의가, 나, 다를 동시에모두충족하여야합니다.

1. 합격자발표및등록사항

(1) 합격여부에 대한 확인은 합격자 발표 당일에 대학원 홈페이지“합격자조회”란에서 본인의 합격 여부를 확인할 수 있으며,

별도로공지하거나개별통보하지않습니다.

(2) 합격자는 반드시 합격자 공지사항을 숙지하여 불이익이 발생하지 않도록 하며, 등록금고지서는 출력하여 지정은행에 등록시

사용하고소정의등록기간에미등록시는입학할의사가없는것으로간주하여입학포기자로처리합니다.

(3) 졸업예정자는졸업후, 최종졸업증명서와최종성적증명서를반드시제출해야하며, 미제출시에는합격이취소될수있습니다.

•RA장학금：지도교수가진행하는연구프로젝트를함께수행하면서연구비에서인건비로수업료의 50% 이상을 지급받는경우

학교에서는나머지를 50% 범위 내에서장학금으로지급합니다. (우수 박사및석박통합과정학생에게연구보조금추가지원)

•IA장학금：본교교내연구소에서행정업무및연구, 실험, 실습을보조하는학생에게소정의장학금을지급합니다.

•일반장학금：학과장이나 주임교수의 추천을 통하여 우수 신입생, 학업성적 우수자, 가계곤란자, 학과특별추천자에게 학과에

배정된일반장학금예산범위내에서소정의장학금을지급합니다.

•우수논문장학금：국제저명학술지(SCI(E), SSCI, A&HCI, SCOPUS)에 주저자(교신저자, 제1저자, 단독저자)로 논문게재 시 소정

의장학금을지급합니다.

•멘토링장학금：박사과정 학생과 석사과정 학생간, 교수와 학생간 밀착형 소통을 통해 신입생들의 전공 및 학창생활 전반에

대한적응력을높이기위해멘토를담당하는석·박통합및박사과정학생에게소정의장학금을지급합니다.

•연구장려 TA장학금：연구활동장려를위해 RA장학금을받게되는석·박통합및박사과정신입생들에게연구장려 TA장학금

A. Document screening and oral/interview test

• Applicants of psychology department will be notified whether they have an oral/interview test or not.

(Other applicants must attend oral/interview test.)

• For international students residing outside Korea, other means of communication(such as by telephone etc)

can be used for the interview.

B. Score distribution

• Document screening - 100 points • Oral/interview test - 100 points

C. Selection standards

• Successful candidates will be selected according to the combined score of document screening and oral/

interview test.

• If the applicant’s ability is judged as ‘insufficient’ to study, they will not be admitted regardless of the admission

quota.

• If two or more applicants receive the same score, the selection will be made following the university’s

tie-breaking procedure.

• Applicants will be disqualified In the following cases :

- An applicant whose ability is judged as ‘insufficient’ to study.

- An applicant who is absent from interview even though he or she is not allowed to do the interview via

telecommunication methods.


Ⅱ APPLICATION PROCEDURE


A. Eligibility for applicant

(1) An applicant holding foreign citizenship and both parents are also foreign citizen (must not Korean

citizens)

(2) Overseas Korean applicants residing in foreign country or foreigner who have completed their entire

elementary, middle school, high school and undergraduate education outside Korea.

※An applicant who wants to apply for the admission for international students must satisfy at least one of

requirements above. An applicant who satisfies all of them is regarded as the eligibility (1).

※An applicant who satisfies one of above conditions must submit documents that can prove the eligibility

of (1) or (2)

※ If an applicant or parents are dual nationality holders with Korean citizenship, applicant will not be

allowed to apply for International Student Admission.

※Applicant who is not applied to above conditions must apply for domestic students admission, not

international students admission.

B. Degree

(1) Master’s / Integrated Master’s & Doctoral program applicant

① One who holds a Bachelor’s degree

② One who is supposed to get Bachelor's degree by the end of February, 2018.

③ According to the relevant law, those who have received a bachelor’s degree or been recognized as having

the equivalent academic experience.

※Master’s degree applicant can apply for different major from the undergraduate major.

(2) Doctoral program applicant

① One who holds a Master’s degree

Exemptions for Language proficiency criteria

• English proficiency test score will be exempted for English mother-tongue students.• It is possible to apply without S-TOPIK score 4th grade or above for applicants who 1)graduated (or expected)

from domestic undergraduate or graduate school or 2)who has the certificate of 5th grade or above fromKorean Language Education Center in domestic Universities. And applicants can submit the S-TOPIK scoreafter admitted. However, scholarship will be decided separately by the date you submit and the LanguageProficiency Test score criteria of scholarship policies.

Applicant of Humanities & Social Science who can speak only English must have a preliminary

consultation with the dean of the Department before applying.

Applicant who apply for TETL program must meet below all three conditions.

TETL in the English Language and Literature Department is an acronym for Teaching English Through Literature.

Considerations

• If applying to a department that is recruiting a specific major, you must specify your major when filling in the admissions application.• Religious Studies Department applicants, as a rule, should be students who majored or minored in theology in undergraduate or graduate school.

Students from other majors are required to have a preliminary consultation with the Dean of the Religious Studies Department before applying.• Department of Psychology recruitment is limited to Counseling/Clinical Psychology, Cognitive/Development Psychology, Social/Industrial

Psychology and Quantitative Psychology. You should write down specific major on the Study Plan.• The Gender Studies Cooperative Program gives advantages to those with experience in organizations related to women.• Applicants for doctoral or integrated program in Philosophy should have bachelor’s degree of philosophy.



A. Basic Documents


Ⅶ DOCUMENT SUBMISSION

※ International applicants must submit all documents(basic & additional documents) as follow. ※As a rule all documents submitted must be original. If the original documents are not written in Korean or English, notarized

translation in Korean or English must be attached.※ If the applicant’s personal details are different from what is stated on the submitted required documents, applicant must prove

Go to the graduate school homepage and download “Required documents for Admission”. Foreigner and overseas Korean applicants residing in foreign country who have completed their entire elementary, middle school, high school

and undergraduate education outside Korea should prove the fact. To prove it an applicant must notarize by Embassy of each country andsubmit (1) 1 copy each of elementary, junior-highschool, highschool and university(expected) graduation certification and official transcripts for allyears in schools, (2) additional documents listed above. Ⅷ APPLICANT CONSIDERATIONS


1. How to apply online

Read the Admission Guide with care → Access Sogang University Graduate School homepage(http://gradsch.

sogang.ac.kr) or application homepage (http://jinhakapply.com) → User login (if not a member, join) → Fill

in the application in order→ Confirm application→ Pay application fee→ Print the application form & test

verification slip, download & fill out Study Plan etc. → Submit the application for admission & required

documents

Application will be successful only when admission fee payment is finished by the due date, 18:00.

2. Application & Registration considerations

(1) You can apply only by internet.

(2) After internet application, print out the application form and, together with the required documents, submit

them to graduate school office by 17:00 on the final day of document submission.

[After finished internet application, print out the “form for sending mail” and send documents to the

graduate school office by registered mail or visit.]

(3) In spite of the completion of internet application, if all application forms (hard copies) and required

documents are not mailed within the submission period, the document screening score will be ‘0’

(4) As there are many situations for urgent contact to applicant or parents, you must accurately enter home

phone number, cell phone number and email address.

(5) After completion of internet application, cancellation or changing of details are not permitted. Documents

submitted will not be returned as a rule. However, if applicant can’t take the test because of unavoidable

accidents, applicant can request refund by submitting refund application and proof of events within 3 days

from test day. Then, after evaluation, if the reason is reasonably acceptable, applicant can get partial (except

the commission) or full refund.

(6) Sogang University is not responsible for any disadvantages caused due to errors on the application form or

required documents being improperly prepared.

(7) Applicants can be requested to submit further documentation for the necessity of confirming the accuracy of

relevant qualifications of applicants. When any reason for disqualification is discovered during the document

screening, the application will be rejected and application fee will not be refunded.

(8) Successful candidate must pay tuition by the due date and applicants who fail to pay tuition will be regarded

as gave up admission. When give up the admission after finished tuition payment, one must submit waiver

form provided by university and one can download the form at Graduate School Homepage.


A photo file must be uploaded during the internet application. So please be sure to prepare a photo file of you in advance.(Notice: if you upload other person’s photo, you will be considered as a cheater and be unable to take the test.)

Carefully fill in your specific academic background of graduate school, undergraduate school, and department(major). Ifthere is no adequate school name among input options enter ‘other’ and type the school name directly.

Please enter exact name of graduate school, undergraduate school, and department(major) etc as it is written in your

transcript or certificate of graduation.

Applicant’s name and date of birth must be identical with what appears on the passport.

For internet application, please be sure to enter your name in English as it is on the passport.


(9) Tuition refund for give up the admission will be dealt with in accordance with the regulations on university

registration fee.

3. Admission related considerations

(1) For further details about admission procedure, please inquire

to the each department office. For inquiries about study

details, please contact to the dean of department by phone or

e-mail.

(2) Location of oral/interview test will be posted on the graduate

homepage ‘notice board’ a day before tests.

(3) During the admissions period we will not notify details to

applicants individually, instead notice will be posted on the

graduate school homepage.

(4) For the oral/interview test, all applicants must bring their ID

card (Alien registration card or passport) and test verification

slip.

(5) Applicants who are late for oral/interview test can be

restricted to attend the test.

(6) A graduate-to-be must get degree by the end of Feb, 2018. If

he or she fails to get degree, the admission will be canceled.

(7) Applicants who received their degree from foreign country

are acceptable only when their universities are accredited by the government. (If the universities (or graduate

school) are not accredited, even after admission process is finished, the admission will be canceled.)

(8) Applicants who make others take the test instead of them and cheat, lie on application details entered in the

required documents, forge documents will be unqualified. When it is discovered that the applicant was

admitted under false pretenses or when it is revealed that former degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s) is not truth by

the academic inquiry, admission will be canceled with no tuition refund even after admission and in the

middle of semester.

(9) Relevant facts not stated in this admission guide will follow the various regulations and guidelines of Sogang

University which are decided separately.


1. Admission Test Result Announcement & Registration

(1) A List of successful candidates will be posted on the graduate school homepage on the result announcement

day. Notification shall not be made individually to those who passed.

(2) Successful applicants must pay close attention to the announcements. Print out the invoice for registration

and make payment to the designated bank account. If registration is not made within the set period, it will be

assumed that the applicant no longer intends to enter the school and the admission will be cancelled.

(3) Those who are expected to graduate during the application should submit certificate of graduation and final

transcript after graduation. If the documents are not submitted, admission can be cancelled.

In-School Scholarship

• TA Scholarship

- Certain amount of scholarship awarded to students assisting professors of affiliated department in relation to

lecture, research and practice (including administration assistance) and scholarship will be decided according

to working hours and etc.

• RA Scholarship

- Awarded to students working as a researcher in the lab. with the professor and receiving more than 50% of

tuition as a wage. Scholarship will be given within the range of 50% of tuition.

• IA Scholarship

- Certain amount of scholarship will be awarded to students who have worked and helped in administrative

duties, research, experiment and practices in-school institutions.

• General scholarship

- Awarded to outstanding freshmen, students in dean's list, students with family difficulties and students with

special recommendations from the dean or head professor. Certain amount of scholarship will be given

within the range of budget alloted.

• Excellent Thesis Scholarship

- Awarded to students who publish thesis on SCI(E), SSCI, A&HCI, SCOPUS as single, the first, or corresponding

author.

• Mentoring Scholarship

- Awarded to doctoral degree and Integrated Master's and Doctora degree students who mentor master’s degree

students about study and campus life.

• Research Encouragement TA Scholarship

- Awarded to doctoral degree and Integrated Master's and Doctoral degree students who get RA scholarship to
