    THE 72 NAMES OF GOD

I am not a Rabbi. I am just an artist that learned for many years with Rabbi Berg.It was almost 20 years ago. It was for me the beginning of a big journey, the discovering of the innermeaning of Judaism, through the teachings of Kabbalah. Until then, I was a secular Jew, living in Paris, ignoring almost everything of my roots. I was entering in a synagogue once a year for Yom Kippur, andthat was enough for me.

Then, I started to ask myself questions. I started to look for answers, and I discovered these teachings. We say when the student is ready, the teacher will appear

God put on my way Rabbi Shraga Feivel Berg, at this time the Dean of the Kabbalah Centre. It was at the end the year 1989, just before Hanukkah that the miracle occurred

Today, I would like to share with you some notes that I took at this time; these are from 1993, aboutthe Parasha Beshalach, the Parasha of the 72 Names of God.

    PARASHA BESHALACH

This week's Parasha is the most powerful reading of all sections of the Torah. One mightask why is not the reading of next Parasha, Yitro, with the 10 commandments, the more

important. We have to understand this. The Torah begins this section with Beshalach. And it says that God did not take the Jews out of Egypt on a straight way because Hefelt that when they will see that the Egyptians will run after the Jews, they will want toreturn to Egypt. So He took them in a way that they would not recognize how to return.

For 3000 years, we celebrate Passover because the Jews were freed by God from slavery. If they were saved from slavery, why would they want to go back? The Zohar says, for

3500 years, the Jew were asleep. Whenever Jews suffer, the whole world suffers. Isn't italways the Jews that suffer? That 6 millions Jews died in the Holocaust. What we forgetthat also more than 50 millions non Jews died in this war. Why is it so important that 6

millions Jews died? Whenever the Jews suffer, the whole world suffers. The Zohar saysthat in Beshalach, the Jews were given the opportunity to remove chaos from the world. But they forget, only because they were just concerned with their own physical comfort.

When you do not remove chaos, no matter how much money, no matter how good isyour health or your life, as long as you do not remove chaos, everyone will suffer thepain of chaos. When Jews came to the Red Sea with the Egyptians behind them, Jewsbegan to cry to God. What did they say? Moshe, were there no graves in Egypt, so youhad to take us out, so there is plenty land here in the desert to bury us all(Exodus 14.11). Better to work for the Egyptians than to perish in the desert. Didn't they see all the

miracles? Didn't they know that God can save them?

Even though the Jews saw all the miracles and had no reason to fear, they lost thatconfidence immediately. What happens when somebody get a serious illness? Heimmediately breaks down. What happens when someone looses all his money? Heimmediately thinks he will never come back. This is human nature. The Jews will alwaysforget no matter how big the miracle. How do we know there is not going to be chaos inthe future? How do we guarantee that tomorrow will be no chaos?

The answer is in the Parasha. God says to Moshe why are they praying to me?What happens when that misfortune and tragedy begins to take place in people lives?

They pray to God. . But they do not pray when things are well, they do not need to pray.God says why are you now praying to me? You have no reason.

Who else are we to pray to? What are we doing in this synagogue but to pray to God?We are not here just only to pray to God, we are here to remove chaos from our lives.God said I have given you all the tools by which you can remove chaos permanentlyfrom our lives. Where do we see that Jews receive this kind of tools? If you are thinkingyou are praying to God, think about what He said. God answered, He told the Jews to goright into the Sea. The Zohar asks what kind of an answer is this that they should drown.

Why would they not be praying to God? With the Egyptians in back, and the Sea infront, would they not drown when they go into the water? Answers the Zohar, the Jews

have not learned the lesson for 2000 years. Today, we have to learn it.

We are going to make work this consciousness that is given to us in this Parasha.

In chapter 14, of the book of Exodus (verses 19, 20, 21), each of these three verses hasexactly 72 letters.

Today 99% of the Jews, reading this Paracha in the Synagogue still do not know thatthere are 72 Names. It is the power of the Satan, so that you can make sure we remain inchaos forever, God forbid.

Without the Zohar, we would never know. God said what pray to me? I cannot help you.If I wanted to help you, I would not have created all these problems in the first place.God would not have allowed Nazis to become Nazis, and not allow cancer to appear.Kabbalah teaches that problems are here so we can learn and become like God. This isthe reason to be born. If we do not learn to defeat chaos, how fast can problems in ourlife take over? What guarantee do we have? We worry that tomorrow could be our day.

Why does God do this? So we can become like God. These tools were concealed for

over 3000 years. We are still criticized that we should not learn Zohar.

The Zohar says- who split the Red Sea? God did not split the Red Sea for the Jews. Wesplit the Red Sea with the 72 Names. The Jews did not understand that, what God

wanted when He gave them the Knowledge to this world, this knowledge was to begiven to the world. If the non-Jew hates the Jew, it is because he has chaos in his life anddeep down he knows that the Jews are not using the Knowledge. He is angry at the Jew,and he is right to be angry.

How to decipher the 72 Names of God from Scripture(Quote from Y. Bergs book The 72 Names of God)

Each of these 3 verses contains 72 letters. The following chart reveals how the 72 namesof God are derived from the biblical text.

Take the first letter of the first box (which is ), and the first letter of the second

box(which is ), and the first letter of the third box ( which is ), you now have the first

Holy Name of God that appears in the first box top right of the chart

Now, for the second Name, you simply have to take the second letter of the first box

which is the , the second letter of the second box which is the ,and the second letter of

the third box which is the . You have now the second Holy Name of God that appearsin the box immediately to the left of the first box.

If you follow this simple pattern for all the letters in the three verses, you will unlock themost powerful and most ancient technology for achieving control over yourself and yourlife.

    Complete 72 Names Chart

The energy that drives this ancient technology comes from these three verses and their72 letters. The 72 Names of God are not "names" in any ordinary sense. The 72 Namesof God provide us with a vehicle to connect to the infinite spiritual current that flowthroughout reality. God gave this cutting-edge technology to Moses to be shared with all

people, so that humans could unleash their own God-like powers and attain control overthe physical world.

When God asked the desperate Israelites, " why are you calling out to me ', it was merelya code. God was actually telling the people that they themselves have the power toescape from their perilous predicament on their own. They did not need God's

    assistance.

God never answers prayers. It is the people who answer their own prayers by knowinghow to connect to and utilize the divine energy of the Creator and the God-like force intheir own souls.

When God told the Israelites to jump into the sea, it was also a code revealing the actualtechnique for activating the power of the 72 Names.

The Israelites were required to demonstrate total certainty in their God-like forcepowers, and in the 72 Names, by physically walking into the sea with completeconviction in a positive outcome.

Naturally, when they first stood by the banks of the sea, watching Pharaoh fastapproaching, they were gripped by fear and doubt. But then Moses reminded them the72 Names. They began meditating upon them, employing all their mental powers toarouse breath-taking spiritual forces. But you know what? Not a single water molecule moved until the Israelites conqueredtheir doubts and waded into the sea with total certainty. Not one drop shifted until they

were neck deep in the sea. Then, when the waters reached their nostrils, and they stillmaintained complete certainty, the waters parted, giving them passage to freedom.

To seize control over the laws of Nature, one must attain self-mastery.Therein lies the secret to the 72 Names of God
