Bullis  School  provides  a  student-­‐centered  balanced  experience    in  academics,  arts,  athletics  and  community  service.    

Bullis  uniquely  prepares  all  students    to  become  caring  citizens  and  creative,  critical  thinkers

 1 .0 THE  ACADEMIC  PROGRAM    

Enrich  the  academic  program  to  promote  excellence  and  build  skil ls   in  critical  thinking,  collaboration,  communication,  resourcefulness,  creativity  and  leadership.    Leadership  Program  

1.1 Prepare  students  for  tomorrow’s  world  with  leadership  skills  for  developing  self-­‐esteem,  risk-­‐taking,  self-­‐advocacy,  motivation,  interpersonal  effectiveness  and  vision.    

 Academy/Signature  Program  

1.2 Fully  implement  21st  century  knowledge  and  skill-­‐based,  customized  programs  for  each  student  in:    � Entrepreneurship  � Science,  Technology,  Engineering,  Mathematics  (STEM)  � Global  Studies  � Humanities    � Visual  and  performing  arts    

 Core  Academic  Curriculum  

1.3 Increase  the  academic  rigor  of  the  core  curriculum  while  supporting  a  balanced  school  experience.      

1.4 Infuse  diversity  objectives  into  all  educational  programming.    Internship  Program  

1.5 Formalize  an  internship  program  utilizing  partnerships  and  mentor  relationships  with  parents,  alumni,  academia,  government  and  industry  for  experiences  in  21st  Century  issues  and  challenges.

1.6 Implement  an  on-­‐line  program  to  foster  advanced  individualized  study  and  promote  flexibility  in  scheduling  and  course  offerings.

Community  Service  2.11 Formalize  the  community  service  program.  2.12 Integrate  service  learning  into  the  school  curriculum.  2.13 Expand  recognition  for  community  service  leadership.  

Environmental  Stewardship  2.14 Integrate  informed  environmental  stewardship  into  our  curriculum.  

   

3.0 SUPPORT  FOR  STUDENT  SUCCESS  Fortify  and  expand  critical  support  for  student  success.  

Faculty  &  Staff  3.1 Retain  diverse  and  21st  century-­‐skilled  and  adaptive  faculty  and  staff.  

3.1.1 Implement  innovative  recruitment  strategies  to  attract  outstanding  candidates.  3.1.2 Align  faculty  diversity  with  student  represented  population.  3.1.3 Retain  the  best  faculty  and  staff  with  competitive  compensation  and  opportunities  

for  development  and  advancement.  

Student/Teacher  Relationship  3.2 Evolve  a  learning  partnership  between  the  student  and  teacher  where  the  teacher’s  

role  expands  from  being  the  expert  to  guiding  and  facilitating  student  exploration  and  discovery.  

3.3 Enhance  the  structure  and  standardize  the  Student  Advisory  Program.  

Individualized  Student  Support    3.4 Enhance  the  Academic  Centers  to  strengthen  individualized  learning  and  promote  

success  for  students  with  different  learning  styles.        

College  &  Career  Planning  3.5 Expand  the  level,  depth  and  breadth  of  support  for  students  and  parents  in  the  

college  admission  process.      3.6 Broaden  relationships  with  universities  to  offer  a  wide  range  of  options  to  students.    3.7 Support  student  performance  on  college  entrance  exams.    

Parents    3.8 Foster  an  active  parent  community  engaged  in  fundraising,  school  promotion,  

volunteering,  mentoring  and  internship  programs.

   4 .0 RESOURCES  FOR  GROWTH  

Provide  the  infrastructure  to  support  school  growth,  future  programs  and  strategic  initiatives.      Long-­‐Term  Financial  Strength    

4.1 Complete  a  major  capital  campaign  to  fund  new  enrollment  capacity  and  endowment.  

4.2 Grow  current  endowment  through  investment  returns  and  gifts  from  $10  million  to  $20  million.  

4.3 Increase  parent  participation  in  the  annual  fund  to  90%  and  identify  new  major  gift  donors.  

4.4 Explore  new  opportunities  for  debt  financing.  4.5 Grow  net  tuition  per  student.  

 Growth  

4.6 Reach  capacity  for  current  facilities  of  660  total  enrollment  while  retaining  small  class  sizes.  

4.7 Assess  the  feasibility  and  strategies  for  growth  beyond  660.    

Market  Visibility  4.8 Achieve  brand  recognition  as  the  leading  innovative,  21st  century  educational  

institution  in  our  competitive  market.    Alumni
