主任牧師報告 2018 何俊華牧師

當我與粵語堂聘牧委員會於 2015 年初會面的時候，我已經坦誠地對當時的成員說，我很清楚自

己事奉的目標，就是以神的話語牧養教會，當中包括聖經研究、神學訓練及寫作。所以，達到共識之後，

我在同年七月受聘為粵語堂牧者，主要負責栽培事工，其實我當時只希望在粵語堂分擔部分牧養工作。

經過一年的事奉，我認識到粵語堂的弟兄姊妹全都是很可愛並善良的人，我又看到粵語堂的需要，所以

經過禱告後，樂意被委任為粤語堂主任。

教牧同工及執事們於 2016 年中推舉我成為署理主任牧師。成為有這樣規模教會的主領牧者是一

個重大的決定，結果經禱告後，我決定接受兩年的任期，心中盼望在這兩年間，神會差遣一位合適的工

人來帶領教會，所以在這兩年期間我停止了所有寫作活動，又推掉了所有教授神學的邀請，專心做署理

主任牧師的工作。上帝很幽默，他不單止沒有差遣另外一位有經驗的牧者來到我們中間，更於 2017年初

感動英語堂的牧者前往另外一個工場牧養事奉，所以在沒有其他選擇的情況下，我同時也兼任了英語堂

的代主任。

執事們於 2018 年初邀請我考慮成為教會的主任牧師。當時，我正處於兩難之間：一方面在過去

三年對這教會產生了一定的感情，亦深深感受到神的使用； 但另一方面，我對於聖經研究、神學訓練

及寫作來牧養普世教會的心願及負擔，絲毫沒有減退。我向執事們分享這個情況，他們經詳細考慮和禱

告後，同意作出一些安排，讓我日後繼續有機會發展這方面的抱負，我在此感謝他們有這份天國胸襟。

我於同年十月正式接任教會主任牧師一職，由署理主任牧師轉為主任牧師，對於我來說，是由一

個過渡性的領袖轉為一個較為長遠的領袖，是一個更委身的承諾。麥浸已經是成熟的兩文三語教會，主

任牧師的角色亦隨著這個情況應該有所改變，我希望在日後主要的責任，是在裝備去裝備其他人的人。

而每個語言堂，包括粵語堂和英語堂，也有其帶領事工的牧者。當然，在未有合適的同工之前，我仍然

暫時會兼任粵語堂和英語堂的帶領牧者。

2017-2018 年的教會主題是「生命的蛻變」，我們強調基督徒生命的成長蛻變，整個教會在架構

上也有些微的蛻變，我們期望透過我們基督徒的生命成長蛻變，會更新改變我們的家庭以及社區。過去

兩年教會正處於過渡期，所以教會的主題也有多少過渡性質，不過無論如何，在信仰上強調生命的蛻變，

肯定是一個歷久常新的方向。

教會由 2019 年開始，在未來十年的主題是：「齊心承傳福音，銳意建立門徒」。在福音書中，

我們可以留意到主耶穌的事奉，有三個層面：第一個層面是向著群眾的，就好像他向著過千的群眾講道；

第二個層面是向著十二門徒的，主耶穌與他們一起生活，著重言教與身教；第三個層面是向著核心的三

個門徒(彼得、雅各和約翰)專人指導。

第一個層面在今天可能可以應用在主日講道上。我曾經想過，當有一天發覺自己對這教會已經沒

有任何貢獻，可能就是我離開的時候，到時我希望所看見的，是所栽培出來的並不只是一班群眾，因為

群眾是只是來湊熱鬧的，又或者只是抱著消費者心態來到教會的。

第二個層面可以應用在今天的小組生活上，盼望我們的小組，並非只是一個社交的群體，而是一

群一起追求在基督裏生命成長的人。

第三個層面在今天的教會中是有發生的，不過大部分情況下是出自個別弟兄姊妹的自發。在未來

的日子，教會將會更有系統地發展這個方向。

「齊心承傳福音，銳意建立門徒」是教會未來十年的重點，希望在這三個層面上，也繼續堅持這

個原則。願神繼續大大使用麥城華人浸信會。

Senior Pastor Report 2018 Rev. Dr. Edward Ho When I first met the hiring committee of the Cantonese Division back in early 2015, I shared with them frankly my life objective is to transform the people of God through His own Word. Besides pastoring in the local church, I am also prepared to contribute to the larger Christian community through research, teaching and publication. Therefore, after reaching consensus, I was hired as a Cantonese Division pastor, focusing on the nurturing ministry. My desire at that time was to share part of the ministry responsibilities in the Cantonese Division. After a year of service, I came to the conclusion that this congregation is loving and kind. Moreover, the ministry needs had captured my attention. As a result, I was delighted to be appointed as the Lead Cantonese pastor after a time of prayer. In mid-2016 my fellow pastors and deacons invited me to become the Interim Senior Pastor of the church. To be the lead pastor of a church of this size is a big decision. After consideration and prayer, I decided to accept a two-year term. My wish was that God will send some qualified individual to join His team to lead the church within these two years’ time frame. During my term as the Interim Senior Pastor, I have put all my writing projects on hold and also declined all external teaching invitations. God has a sense of humour, and not only did my wish not come true, but God has also called our previous English Pastor to minister elsewhere. Without any viable options, I stepped in to become the Acting Lead Pastor of the English congregation too. The deacons invited me to consider to be appointed as the Senior Pastor in early-2018. I was caught in a dilemma. On the one hand, I have established many relationships in this church and sensed that God has been blessing my ministry. On the other hand, my passion to serve God through rigorous research, teaching and publication has never diminished. I shared with the deacons about this situation. After prayerful consideration, they agreed to make certain arrangements so that my wider passion can be supported. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them for having such a kingdom mindset. In October of the same year, I was appointed as the Senior Pastor. To me, this change of role implies a higher commitment. I am no longer a transitional leader, but a more permanent one. MCBC is now an established trilingual church. The role of the Senior Pastor should be adjusted accordingly. I see the primary responsibility of this role as equipping the leaders who in turn equip others to serve. In the long run, each Division including the Cantonese and the English Divisions should have their own Lead Pastors. The theme of the church for 2017-2018 was “Transformation.” We emphasized that Christians need to be transformed in Christ. Our church structure has also undergone some transformation. Our desire was to transform our families and communities through our transformed lives. MCBC has been transitioning during these two years, and so the theme is a bit transitional too. However, to seek transformation in Christ should be a perennial focus. The theme of the church from 2019 to 2028 is “Multiplying Disciple Makers for the Gospel.” In the gospels, Jesus has three levels of ministry. First, the crowd. Jesus preached regularly to the multitudes. Second, the twelve disciples. Jesus lived with them; he discipled them and demonstrated to them a life of obedience. Third, the three disciples in the inner circle (Peter, James and John). Jesus provided personal guidance to them.

The first level can perhaps be applied to the Sunday preaching in modern churches. One day, when I realize that I can no longer contribute to this church, this may be the right time for me to leave. If this happens, my hope is that the congregation we have nurtured is not just a crowd which gathers for its own sake and comes to MCBC with a consumer mentality. The second level can be applied to small groups. My desire is that our small groups are not mere social groups, but a community of believers seeking growth in Christ. The third level of ministry has been happening in this church. However, this has been initiated on an individual basis. Our goal is to develop a more systematic platform for this type of mentorship to take place. “Multiplying Disciple Makers for the Gospel” is the focus of the church for the next decade. We pray that we can continue to uphold this focus in these three levels of ministry. May God continue to bless the world through MCBC.

教牧執事會事工報告 黃亮執事

新執事團隊結構

2018 年為麥城華人浸信會歷史上的第一次選出了六位新任期執事。他們不但充滿活力地參與教會屬靈方

向發展，並樂於表達其想法及見解。作為新一屆教牧執事會主席，我感謝團隊經常給予授權和鼓勵；團

隊和睦共處，協力合作，在不同語言堂決策上給予最大的支持與肯定。他們亦在不同事工上積極主動地

展開工作，以配合2019年過渡期間按立執事角色的轉變。按立執事仍會在教會裡分擔其他事工的需要，

但其以往肩負決策的角色將會在 2019 年底便不復存在。教牧執事會需要在 2019 年年底前選出多三位任

期執事，以確保當按立執事角色轉變時，整個教牧執事會仍有足夠執事人數提供不同意見。教會未來十

年的主題是建立門徒，訓練先從教牧執事會開始，繼而各事工領袖。

結構轉變

為了幫助青年人從高中過渡至成人階段，決定將中學 10 至 12 級的青年人轉到英文堂參與崇拜；7 至 9級的青少年將留在青少年堂崇拜，因此教會必須聘請多一位牧者牧養這群青少年；而英文堂亦需要在關

懷、栽培及外展事工上負責牧養高中生。

教牧變動

主任牧師

感謝天父的帶領，幫助教牧執事會及議會作出決定，委任何俊華牧師成為主任牧師。他謙卑地接受了我

們的建議，而該建議亦呈交教會會眾作決定，並於八月份進行全教會選舉；有 662 位會友參與投票，

95.77%投贊成票。各堂會眾亦於 10 月 7 日參加主任牧師按立典禮。

何俊華主任牧師目前面對一項艱鉅的任務，就是各堂牧者人數嚴重短缺，特別是英文堂及青少年堂。讓

我們懇切祈求及參與事工。

粵語堂

教會一直努力物色粵語堂第三位牧者，何俊華牧師兼任粵語堂主任牧師一職帶領該堂。目前有兩位實習

傳道輔助梁炳剛牧師及吳緯濤傳道，他們分別是黃凱昕及陸湧濤。

國語堂

鄭有恩傳道因繼續深造原因於五月份離任；讚美主! 袁俊林傳道於九月份加入教會，以減輕林國輝傳道

繁重的工作量。

英文堂

教會已委任林耀輝牧師擔任英文堂牧者，Pastor Ken Kim 擔任傳道(實習生) ，任期一年；何俊華牧師仍

繼續兼任英文堂主任牧師一職。

Board of Pastors and Deacons (BPD) Report Deacon Richard Wong Deacon team new structure 2018 is the first year in our church history with six newly elected term deacons. Their participation has sparked tremendous energy and new insights on how we should develop our church’s spiritual direction. As a new chair of the board, I feel the empowerment and encouragement from our team constantly. The team works harmoniously together and we do our best to support the decision-making in different divisions. The new deacons have contributed diligently and proactively in multiple tasks. This will prepare our transition in 2019 with all the ordained deacons changing their roles at the end of 2019. The ordained deacons will serve in other ministries and address the needs of MCBC but will no longer be part of the decision-making body of BPD. We have already initiated the process of electing at least three more term deacons before the end of 2019. This will ensure the body of BPD will have adequate input from deacons when the ordained deacons change their roles. We are also looking forward to the next “10 years” theme where we strive to be disciple-making disciples. The training will start with BPD first and will contagiously pass onto other servant-leader teams. Structural change In order to provide better transition for the young people to move from high school to adulthood, it was decided to move grade 10 to 12 youth to English Division. The worship of this group has always been part of the English Worship. The grade 7 to 9 youth will stay with the Young Life Division (YLD). As a result, we have to hire an extra pastor for YLD to specifically care for this group. The English ministry team will have to oversee the caring, nurturing and outreach of the high school students. Pastoral Staffing Changes Senior Pastor Praise God for His guidance to help the BPD and the council in making the decision to appoint Rev. Edward Ho to be our Senior Pastor. He humbly accepted our recommendation and we brought the decision to the membership. There was a church-wide election in August and it was greatly participated by the members. 662 votes were obtained and 95.77% voted yes. The Senior Pastor inauguration was done on October 7 with participation of all the divisions. Rev. Ho has a great task ahead of him for there is tremendous shortage of manpower in different divisions, especially in Young Life and English Divisions. We need to pray hard and earnestly involve ourselves in all the ministries. Cantonese We have been trying to hire a third pastor for this division. Rev. Edward Ho has been overseeing this division as the lead pastor. We do have two interns helping Rev. Edward Leung and Pastor Stephen Ng. Their names are William Wong and Lawrence Luk. Mandarin Pastor Joseph has resigned from the division in May so that he may pursue further studies and enrichment. Praise God that we are able to hire Pastor Jason Yuan in September to assist Pastor George with his heavy load. English We are able to appoint Rev. Freddy Lam to serve as our English pastor. We also had Pastor Ken Kim to serve as a pastoral intern for a one-year term. Rev. Edward Ho has continued to serve in the role of lead pastor in this division.

教會議會報告 劉源執事

2018 年很快過去了，當我們回望過去的一年，議會工作蒙神的恩典及祝福。感謝天父的恩典和帶領，給

予麥浸會眾在基督裡結連合一，同心合意地應付各樣不同的挑戰。以下是議會在 2018 年內所經歷的重

要及感恩回顧事項:

1. 新議會任期(2018-19) 在 2018 年初，施恩典的神藉著 2017 年秋季最近的一次選舉已預備了七位弟兄姊妹當選為新一屆 2018-19 年度議員，他們分別代表粵語堂、國語堂及英語堂。連同教牧執事會的另外六位成員，組成一個有資

格行使投票權的 13 位成員議會。此外，在這新任期內，董事會還重新任命了六位成員，他們將合法代

表教會負責對外事務。我謹代表議會感謝所有現任議員在 2018 年能忠心事奉，不辭勞苦，並祈求他們

蒙神祝福，賜予智慧及健康繼續事奉。

2. 議會功能及團隊合作

議會主要功能是制定及檢討教會各事工計劃在不同範疇方面的整體方向，以便在定期的會友大會上向會

友作出報告。其他功能包括事工資源分配審查、制定政策、人力資源、財務管理等。由於議會每年只舉

行四次會議，為了處理最迫切的議題及未來規劃發展，於是去年召開了多次額外會議。我要感謝所有議

員為了教會利益付出努力及耐性，在討論及審議過程中，他們亦發揮團隊的同心協力精神。雖然在 2018年教會仍面對不少挑戰，但整體上可箅是度過一個平穩和諧的一年。在眾多發生過的事件上，我們慶幸

懸空四年久的主任牧師職位問題得以解決。

3. 2018 年六位新任期執事

新執事制度決議已於 2017 年 5 月 7 日的會友大會上獲得批准，教會從今以後將不會按立執事為終身職

份，新任期執事取而代之，其事奉期限為四年。在新執事制度下，六位候選人於 2017 年秋季被提名，

並通過投票獲選為任期執事。他們分別為粵語堂的李伯泓(Wilson Lee)、夏敏聰(Fenton Har)；國語堂的

王劍(Jian Wang)、朱奕珠(Maggie Zhu)及英語堂的黃頌偉(Jonathan Wong)、胡炳耀(Daniel Woo)。感謝

神! 祂為我們預備了六位願意承擔這職份的新執事。

4. 按立牧者之新投票法定人數

根據按立牧者憲章及附例，最低投票法定人數必定不小於整個教會會友人數的 50%規定，整個教會包括

粵語堂、國語堂、英語堂及青少年堂。然而，某一個堂的會友可能不熟悉另一個堂被推薦按立的牧者而

不作投票，如果整體投票人數並不熱烈，就不能達到 50%的法定人數門檻。

在八月份會友大會上，解決按立牧者法定人數問題的動議得以通過。凡粵語堂、國語堂及英語堂的牧者

被推薦按立，他們最低限度要有該堂投票會友人數 50%或以上，以付合最低投票法定人數。至於青少年

堂，由於大多數青少年的年齡都低於 18 歲，不合乎投票資格，故建議合資格的投票者應是青少年堂的

家長及該事工參予者。當青少年堂牧者被推薦按立，法定人數必定不小於所有合資格投票人數的 50%，

才確定投票過程有效。

5. 委任主任牧師

何俊華牧師於 2016 年 11 月被委任為署理主任牧師，為期兩年。2018 年初，執事們共同努力，想出一個

解決長期懸空的主任牧師職位方案。其中一個提議就是將署理主任牧師期限再延長多兩年。最後經過討

論、懇切禱告及兩個月來不斷尋求神的旨意，執事們於五月決定推薦委任何俊華牧師為麥浸主任牧師，

生效期為 10 月 1 日；該動議最後於 5 月 6 日的議會上提出並獲得通過。於七月經過一個月的投票選舉，

何俊華牧師以高投票率當選為主任牧師；並於 10 月 7 日的星期日感恩節，教會聯合各堂舉行了一次短暫

但令人難忘的主任牧師就職典禮，讚美主!

6. 教會合一

為了慶祝 22 週年堂慶，於 5 月 26 日舉行了聯合崇拜，並獲得良好反應；感謝神讓我們在這崇拜珍貴時

刻可彼此認識。儘管各堂文化差異，願神繼續帶領，讓我們無論現時或將來都能同感一靈，彼此合一。

冀盼教會能在未來的日子舉辦更多合堂活動。

7. 2019 年展望

2018 年是麥浸蒙福的一年，感謝神一切的供應，使教會團結合一及彼此相愛。2019 年教會主題是「齊

心承傳福音，銳意建立門徒」，這主題提醒我們傳福音是我們必須做的重要事情。為了配合主題，教牧

執事會決定將重點放在建立更多門徒及領袖，以作為教會承傳策略之一。從 2019 年起，教牧和執事將

成為首先屬靈領袖訓練的對象，繼而將會是事工領袖。動員全教會領袖去實現這目標並不是一件容易的

事情；雖然如此，讓我們仰望主，祈求祂在我們接受屬靈訓練時能賜予智慧及帶領。

由於教會很快就償還目前的抵押貸款，因此在 2019 年是否考慮植堂就成為一個討論議題。何俊華主任

牧師在某一次談話時曾表達個人意見，認為現時人手短缺，在明年植堂並不可能實現。他亦表示粵語堂

可探討在星期六安排崇拜時間是否可行，請會眾們為有關負責探討可行性和規劃工作人員禱告。

最後，教會盼望發掘更多基督追隨者能於 2019 年事奉；在教會 10 年主題上，讓我們藉著禱告請求神加

以引導。願我們彼此團結，同心合意地在今後的事工上共同努力，

Council report for 2018 Deacon Lawrence Lau The year of 2018 went by quickly and when we look back at the MCBC Council service, it has been a year fully blessed by God’s grace and kindness. We should thank the Lord for His graciousness and guidance to unite all Council members in one heart and one soul in Christ in dealing with different challenges throughout the past year. The following recaps some important and thankful events we experienced during the year of 2018: 1. New 2018 – 2019 Council Service Term In the beginning of 2018, our gracious God has prepared new members to serve in the church Council through the latest election in the fall of 2017. A total of 7 brothers and sisters representing the divisions of Cantonese (CD), Mandarin (MD) and English (ED) were elected as Council members for the new term of 2018 – 2019. Together with another 6 members appointed from the Board of Pastors and Deacons, the church Council was then officially established with 13 members who are eligible to exercise voting rights. In addition, in this new term, the board of directors have also been reappointed with 6 members who will represent MCBC legally for external affairs. On behalf of the church Council, I would like to thank all the current Council members for their commitments and hard work in 2018 and pray that they will be blessed with wisdom and good health as they continue to serve diligently for 2019. 2. Council Functions and Teamwork The major function of the Church Council is to develop and review the overall direction in different aspects of work plans and ministries of the church for the purpose of reporting to the General members during their regular update meetings. Other functions are ministries resource allocation review, policy making, human resources, church finance management, etc. Due to the limited meeting frequency of four times a year, many extra special meetings were in place last year to deal with some immediate needs and future planning. I have to thank all Council members for their patience and effort to contribute for the best interests of the church. The teamwork within the group has well been recognized in the midst of discussions and deliberations. In 2018, there were some challenges but overall for MCBC, I much appreciate that it was a year of better congregation stability and harmony. We are so thankful for many events that have happened in MCBC, particularly the provision of Senior Pastor after a drought of this position for 4 years. 3. Six Newly Elected Term Deacons in 2018 The resolution on new deaconship as approved in the Members' meeting of 7th May 2017 determined that MCBC will not ordain any new deacons for life term, but instead will only commission new deacons for a service term of a period of 4 years. Under this new deaconship system, in the fall of 2017, 6 candidates were nominated and elected as new term deacons. They are Wilson Lee/Fenton Har elected by the Cantonese division, Wang Jian/Maggie Zhu elected by the Mandarin division and Jonathan Wong/Daniel Woo elected by the English division. Please join together to thank God's provision of 6 new deacons to serve the Lord in MCBC ministries. 4. New Pastors Ordination Voting Quorum As stipulated in the Constitution & By-laws for pastors' ordination, the minimum quorum to participate in voting events should be 50% of total MCBC members distributed among the current four divisions, i.e. Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Young Life division. However, due to the fact that church members in one division may give up their voting rights since they are not be familiar with another division’s pastor who is recommended for ordination, the 50% threshold may fail if the overall participation in voting is not enthusiastic. In the Members' meeting of August, a new motion to resolve the pastor ordination quorum issue was moved and approved. For divisions of CD/MD/ED whose pastors are recommended for ordination, they must have 50% of their own church members or more in the division to participate in the voting process as the minimum quorum requirement. For Young Life division (YLD), as the congregations are mostly children or youth who are normally

under 18 and not eligible to vote, the recommendation is to identify YLD parents and ministry workers as voters. When a YLD pastor is nominated for ordination, a quorum of 50% or more of all eligible voters must participate in order for the voting process to be valid. 5. Senior Pastor Appointment Rev. Edward Ho was appointed as Interim Senior Pastor (ISP) in November 2016 for a 2-year term. In the early months of 2018, the deacons group worked together to come up with a possible solution to resolve the long vacant Senior Pastor position. One suggestion for consideration was to renew the ISP term for another 2 years. Finally, after thorough discussion, diligent prayers and two months of seeking discernment from God, in May, the deacons group decided to recommend the appointment of Rev. Edward Ho as MCBC Senior pastor effective October 1. A motion was moved and approved at the May 6 Council meeting for final voting by the church members. Through the one-month voting process for all church members in July, Rev. Edward Ho succeeded to be elected with very high majority approval. On the Thanksgivings Sunday of October 7, a short but very memorable installation joint service was held to officiate Rev. Edward Ho as the new Senior Pastor of MCBC. Praise the Lord. 6. Church Unity Praise the Lord for a joint service organized for all church congregants to attend as one family in Christ on May 26 in celebration of the 22nd anniversary of MCBC. The responses received after the joint worship service were well accepted among most congregants and let us all thank God for giving us the precious moments and opportunities to know and serve one another in the worship time. May God continue to lead us in the unity of Holy Spirit in spite of diversity in MCBC for now and the years to come. It is hoped that more joint events for the whole church can be organized in the future. 7. 2019 Outlook 2018 has been a blessed year filled with love and unity for MCBC and we have to thank God for all He has provided. In 2019, the church theme will be “Multiplying Disciple-makers for the Gospel 齊心承傳福音，銳意建立門徒”. With this theme in mind we know that spreading the good news is the most important thing we have to achieve. To keep in line with this theme, the Board of Pastors and Deacons has decided to focus on developing and making more disciples and leaders for succession purpose as one of the church's strategies. Starting 2019, leaders' spiritual trainings will intentionally be organized, aiming at pastors and deacons as the first level of leaders group and then the ministry leader as the next level. It may not be an easy task to mobilize all church leaders for such a goal. However, we all should look up to the Lord and pray for His guidance and wisdom to lead us through during the process of leaders' spirituality trainings. Lately, there has been a question as to whether church planting is to be considered in 2019 as the current mortgage loan will soon be paid off. Our Senior Pastor, Rev. Edward Ho in one occasion opined personally that church planting will not be in place next year, particularly since there is a shortage of staff. He indicated that the Cantonese division will explore the possibility of arranging a new worship service time on Saturdays. Please pray for the feasibility and planning work to be executed by the concerned parties. In conclusion, we look forward to seeing more devoted Christ followers being developed to serve God in 2019. We prayerfully ask God’s guidance on us for the 10 years church theme. May we all unite our hearts together and work harder in His ministries in 2019 and the years to come. Amen.

粵語堂報告 2018 何俊華牧師/梁炳剛牧師/吳緯濤傳道

今年我們有兩次舉行全教會聯合敬拜的機會。首先，我們在五月份的二十二週年堂慶當日，

舉行了合堂聯合主日崇拜，除了三語並重的詩歌敬拜，個別牧者以不同的語言禱告，何俊華牧師則以英

語講道，林國輝傳道國語翻譯，並即時在螢光幕上顯示中文翻譯； 我們並且一起虔守主餐，由創會牧

師暨榮譽顧問黃廣頤牧師帶領。另外，在十月七日上午，教會舉行何俊華牧師的主任牧師就職典禮，我

們也一起以兩文三語來一同感恩及讚美主，也一起虔守主餐。於何牧師分享心志之後，由黃牧師及執事

代表按手在何牧師身上，為何牧師的一家及教會祈禱；讓我們歡喜快樂地體驗主裏合一的美善。

小組牧養平台秉持教會 2018 年「生命的蛻變」的主題和目標，於今年的小組查經安排上，將

焦點放於如何幫助組員建立「屬靈家庭」、培養「真誠相待」，並銳意「裝備聖徒」來服侍神；然而，

我們卻知道在這倫理混亂、道德敗壞的世代中，要建立以神為中心的家庭，及培養以神為主的人際關係

並非一件容易的事；因此，我們於 1 至 8 月透過查考《羅馬書》，幫助我們在主耶穌基督的知識上有長

進；並結合小組成員的彼此牧養及互相扶持，讓我們的小組「滿有良善，有充足知識，能彼此勸戒」的

相愛群體。於 9 至 11 月，我們查考《馬太福音》記載有關主耶穌基督的職事，首要的信息是宣告，揭示

天國的奥秘，並以比喻來傳遞關於天國的奧秘，國度的發展；讓我們透過查考天國比喻進一步認識天國

的真理，並幫助我們反思既是神國度的子民，活在神的國度裏，但同時卻生活在地上的國度裏的意義，

從而活出美好的見證。12 月，我們查考「馬利亞的尊主頌」，讓我們重溫神的應許，仰望祂的美善，呈

獻我們的感恩，使「我的心尊主為大」！於 4 月開始，「得力網絡」預查聚會進行重大改革，以「小組

聚會模式」進行，當中加強互動、交流、團契及學習等元素，讓組長及核心團隊全情投入，享受這兩小

時的學習。

此外，為增強對粵語小組成員的牧養及勉勵，小組牧養平台及外展事工共同邀請何志滌牧師

及何羅乃萱師母，於 10 月 12 及 13 日在本會主講一連串的專題講座：中年再高飛；女性成長：活出美

好；男性成長：活出剛強；組長及核心團隊激勵：不完美的事奉；男女不同，誤會重重？！兩性溝通秘

笈。會眾很踴躍參加，他們都得到很好的提醒、教導和鼓勵。

2018 年外展事工以全人 – 心、身、靈的關顧作為社區關係的向度，在五月份聯同社區中的

心理健康組織合作舉辦「心靈健康，從認識開始」的心理健康關注日，透過社區探訪、講座及工作坊，

作為平台向鄰近社區發放關顧心靈健康的重要信息。另一方面，我們今年透過不同類形，多向度的佈道

方式作為福音平台，在三月及四月期間，我們開辦第一次的「粤語啟發課程」(Alpha Course ) ，當中並

結合「耶弗他」小組服奉配搭，邀請得到不少社區排舞班的學員參加，最終結出美好福音果效。

在佈道會方面，我們在六月份邀請到讚諾士樂隊 (The Channels) 舉辦「情懷不老金曲夜」音

樂佈道會，以歌曲論人生，尋覓不老的真情。而到十月份中，我們邀請何志滌牧師夫婦主領「難中有望」

佈道會，二位講員分享個人生命際遇，在得失與艱難中如何得經歷主所賜的的恩典與盼望，讓與會者得

着鼓勵，去回應上主的呼喚。而我們在十二月初，邀請到頌恩旋律佈道團演出「在幽谷中擁抱祢」福音

音樂舞台劇，以真人事蹟去演譯縱遇危險網羅，主恩典足夠的生命故事。

此外，今年外展部聯同差傳委員會在三月復活節「商場佈道」、八月「耶穌愛華埠」及聖誕

節「佈道週與節日攤位」，期間招募本地宣教隊出隊，旨在栽培弟兄姊妹更多參與本地宣教使命，見證

神福音大能及與聖靈同工的經歷。今年各項社區外展活動：排舞班、攝影會，乒乓球等，都曾以遠足郊

遊、節期餐會、慶祝聚餐等不同的方式去建立接觸平台與相聚的機會，以增取建立進深聯係作為褔音預

工。而對於孟嘗護理院的長者探訪方面，除了加增與院舍管理層會議外，今年持之以恒地按月邀請各不

同小組参與，為住院的長者帶來敬拜與分享福音信息的時刻，讓麥浸小組得以服事社區中成員，補添人

心靈的需要。

今年栽培事工以繼往開來的心志，在主日學課程設計與季度上加增多元、均衡及互動性。在

暑期及十二月間期，主日學課程增設以獨立單月設計的課程，便利引進專題進深課題，令課程内涵更見

多元豐富。而主日學老師方面，今年有兩位教牧實習生協助教學職事，並且也有老師重拾教學服事。在

不同季度主日學的報讀平均人數，大約為崇拜人數 26-28%之間。而今年恆常與中國神學研究院協辦的

「生命之道」查經課程，在三至四月季度的「但以理書」與及九至十一月季度的「詩篇 II」平均都有

320 多位學員報讀，本會學員約佔半數，多年來各學員都把持着求進與恒心去追求認識上主的話語。而

中國神學研究院今年六月透過視像在本會轉播「2018 中神北美培靈講座」，造就信徒。在今年九月底，

我們與加拿大福音證主協會合辦「這麼近，那麼遠 ─ 抓準神話語」聖經教導專題講座，當日透過區應

毓牧師、劉玉茵博士及陳燕薇傳道等講員帶領與會者透過互動、主題式的學習，一同走進聖經，讀明神

的心意，將神的話語融入生活當中。

關顧事工的日常事奉工作是將教會的關心，帶給每一位參加粵語堂崇拜的會眾。為方便照顧，

我們將會眾分為三個類別：新來賓；已參加小組或團契的兄姊；未加入小組或團契的兄姊。而關顧事工

透過以下的組織和運作，來關心和照顧粵語堂的全體會眾：(1) 新來賓關顧組 ─ 歡迎和接待參加粵語

堂崇拜的新來賓，並以電話關顧來跟進，全年共接待 103 人；並於 4 月份舉辦電話關顧訓練。(2) 探訪

組 ─ 新來賓／會友探訪，特別事故關懷；全年關顧及探訪超過 30 多次。(3) 教會活動組 ─ 膳食，康

樂；全年活動包括：新春茶敍、感恩及慶祝晚餐、復活浸禮午餐會、教牧迎新午餐會、聖誕節浸禮午餐

會。(4) 行政組 ─ 秘書：舉行四次季度會議，辦理事工的行政事務；培訓及退修會：於 4 月 17 日舉行

「粵語關顧事工退修及感恩晚會」，主題為「有效事奉團隊的素質」，講員為梁炳剛牧師；全體關顧事

工成員參與，在神的話語裏彼此激勵，在分享豐富飲食時互相祝福。

English Division Ministry Report Rev. Dr. Edward Ho, Rev. Freddy Lam The Lord has always been faithful. Although we were not able to recruit an incoming Lead Pastor for the English Division, God has been blessing us with devoted deacons and other lay leaders for building up his church. Moreover, Rev. Freddy Lam has transitioned from his Youth Pastor role to become a shepherd for the English congregation. His general pastoral experience in the church and his strong relationship with most congregants have made him a great asset to the pastoral team. We are also delighted to have offered a one-year pastoral internship to Pastor Ken Kim. His ministry has been a blessing to many and MCBC is proud to be able to contribute to the development of Ken. 2018 was a year of new beginnings. We continued to look at how we can live out the theme of “Transformation.” We tried new ways, different ways. Some were successful, others need to be tweaked. However, the focus remains on how to develop fully devoted Christ followers. Below are the highlights of the endeavours we pursued to develop this congregation recovering from transitions: Worship Ministry In worship, Rene and Sam led and developed the worship team and we increased both worship team members as well as audio/visual, while Host Team has been regrouped under new coordination. We began the Exodus series, focusing on the theme of the Presence of God. Following Easter, instead of focusing on what happened leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, we focused on how the resurrected Jesus gave A New Hope to different followers. We then looked at Paul’s letter to the Ephesians as we drew the congregation to re-examine what it means to be the church. During the summer, we brought us back to what it means to be Baptist by examining the distinctive in a series called Embracing Traditions, and we ended the year looking at the Psalms in the series Transforming the Heart, taken from each pastor’s five most impactful Psalms in their lives. They spearheaded the Christmas Eve Service in an attempt to reach out to the community. We celebrate unity in diversity. There were two occasions for joint-congregation worship this year. The first one was the Joint Anniversary Service. We praised God in three languages together and individual pastors offered prayer in their own languages. Rev. Edward Ho preached in English and Pastor George Lin interpreted for him in Mandarin. There were also simultaneous Chinese subtitles displayed on the screens. Our Founding Pastor, Rev. Tommy Wong, officiated the Lord’s Supper during the service. The second occasion was the Senior Pastor Inauguration Ceremony for Rev. Edward Ho. We celebrated God’s grace together in three languages and observed the Lord’s Supper as one church. Edward shared his passion for the church. Afterwards, the leaders led by Rev. Wong laid hands on his family and prayed for them and the church. Small Groups Ministry Learning from the strengths and weaknesses of the previous small groups ministry, the English pastors devised a small groups strategy focused on developing roles instead of centralized leadership in each small group, opening the groups for newcomers to enter, and developing an in-house curriculum on the Gospel of Matthew. The curriculum is not focused on bible study but rather on discussions which can penetrate into faith and life. We placed a break in the middle of the year to make sure leaders can reflect and rest before they took on this noble task. We also formed huddles to care for and train group leaders, and celebrated the first of two years being together, so groups wouldn’t be in the midst of forming, only to be separated again. Through this new strategy, we were able to form four intergenerational, four young adults, and two family groups.

Nurturing Ministry Sunday School remained to be the primary vehicle for seekers to explore their faith through Christianity Explored and Gospel of John, whereas those who wish to go deeper were introduced to an assortment of biblical books (Song of Songs, Ruth, Esther, Jonah and Nahum, and Galatians) or training in Christian living in the areas of Parenting, Modern Parables historically and theologically (Recovering Redemption, Echoes of the Reformation, and Christian Doctrines). We have ten brothers and sister, three in Easter and seven during Christmas baptized into the name of Jesus. Our annual Spiritual Life Retreat was entitled “Life Together” where we had a record number of brothers, sisters and families participate at UOIT under the teaching of Rev. Chris Lee. Caring Ministry In response to the unsettled fellowships between brothers and sisters as a result of the transitions of pastors and leaders, we inaugurated Adam’s Day and Women’s Fellowship for brothers and sisters respectively to deepen their relationship with one another, as well as Small Groups and Retreat BBQ in August to celebrate God’s work in our lives. Lastly, we held a Newcomer’s Welcome Luncheon to get to know those who have stepped into our Worship service or small groups, and welcome them to be a part of the family and be connected.

「因為萬有都是本於祂，倚靠祂，歸於祂。願榮耀歸給祂，直到永遠！阿門！」（羅 11:36）。基督是

教會的元首，信徒生命的成長離不開與基督的生命連結，教會的建造同樣離不開基督的恩典與權能。感

謝神，國語堂在 2018 年裡再次經歷了神在基督裡的奇妙作為和帶領！麥浸 2018 年的主題仍然是：“生

命的蛻變” - 「所以弟兄們，我以神的慈悲勸你們，將身體獻上，當做活祭，是聖潔的，是神所喜悅

的，你們如此侍奉乃是理所當然的。不要效法這個世界，只要心意更新而變化，叫你們察驗何為神的善

良、純全、可喜悅的旨意」（羅 12:1-2）。我們藉著傳講羅馬書，領受神的話來激發生命蛻變的渴望；

傳講以弗所書，重整價值觀來設定生命蛻變的目標；傳講舊約人物系列，以其生命蛻變來見證聖靈改變

生命的能力。

今年我們有兩次機會舉行全教會聯合敬拜。首先，我們在五月份的二十二週年堂慶當日，舉行了合堂聯

今年 3 月 30 日的受苦節，國語堂舉辦了特別的逾越節敬拜暨主餐禮，超過 200 位弟兄姊妹和孩童們一起

參加。藉著模擬以色列人在逾越節的家庭敬拜，一起思想耶和華神的救贖恩典，深切體會主耶穌在十字

架上獻上自己為贖罪羔羊的意義和祂死後第三天復活所成就的救恩。崇拜部繼續增強了團隊的建設，許

多弟兄姊妹熱情地參與服事。除了針對詩班的訓練外，今年還特別安排了領詩小組和指揮的訓練。詩班

休息期間由各個團契和生命小組輪流獻詩，非常感恩地看到弟兄姊妹們都踴躍參加，並以敬畏、敬虔的

心服事敬拜榮耀的真神。

關顧部今年加強了每月的探訪，關心陪伴有特別需要和病患中的肢體以及喪親的家庭，也藉著探訪關顧

支持服事中的同工領袖們。每季度一次的迎新茶會很好地讓新朋友一起交流並了解麥浸教會。迎新團隊

的建立進一步得到了健全，他們於 1 月 21 日舉辦了電話關顧與迎新團隊的培訓，每位隊員都再次委身在

迎新的服侍，以幫助新朋友盡快適應並融入國語堂群體。關顧部還於 6 月 17 日舉辦了主題為「溝通藝術

&化解衝突」的婚姻家庭講座，許多弟兄姊妹們熱烈地回應。 2018 年中有 5 對夫婦先後參加了家新恩愛

夫妻營，這不是我們預先安排的事工計劃，乃是神自己的帶領，也可見婚姻家庭事工的急切需要。有許

多弟兄姊妹參加了 10 月 20 日和 12 月 31 日的感恩見證分享會，大家歡聚一堂，在敬拜和感恩中分享神

奇妙的作為。

栽培事工藉著每季度的主日學老師訓練和分享，逐步增強主日學老師的團隊。每年我們都會鼓勵主日學

老師參加證主協會舉辦的「主日學及聖經教導事工研討會」，今年有 12 位主日學老師參加，在聚會的

午餐時段我們即時一起回應分享。 9 月 28-29 日有 14 位弟兄姊妹一起參加了大多市的「銳意門徒訓練

特會」，我們一起領受主耶穌大使命所賦予的異象：承傳普世宣教的福音、建立屬靈倍增的門徒。6 月

30 日至 7 月 2 日的夏季培靈退修會以「信仰群體的生命素質」為主題，共有 103 人參加。我們之前用了

6 個月的時間，生命小組查考「約書亞記」來預備弟兄姊妹的心參加這次的夏季培靈退修會，效果明顯。

一對一初信栽培事工繼續有效地幫助剛信主的新葡明白基本信仰和操練教會生活。

外展事工在 2 月 17 日與 CMI 合辦新春宣教音樂會，超過 600 人參加，激起弟兄姊妹宣教佈道的熱誠。

5 月 5 日的麥浸開放日，吸引了社區中許多新朋友參加「心靈健康從認識開始」主題分享和講座。與泉

源輔導中心於 6 月 22 日聯合舉辦的「預防劣待長者問題」講座，既服侍社區中長者身心健康的需要，更

提醒我們關心他們的靈魂生命。今年許多弟兄姊妹參加 7 月份的歐洲基督教教育短宣、8 月份的美國羅

城短宣、9 月份的柬埔寨短宣和 10 月份的德國哥廷根及卡瑟爾短宣。9 位弟兄姊妹參與了由多倫多短宣

中心於 8 月 21-25 日主辦的第五屆耶穌愛多倫多(JLT)本地佈道宣教。三福隊員們隨時在各種處境中積極

傳福音領人歸主，並做新葡決志後的探訪跟進。國語堂於12月25日上午再次舉辦聖誕節佈道會，有370人參加。神藉著｢生命的渴望」的主題信息，感動了 11 位新葡決志信主。感謝神藉著這些不同的外展事

工，激起我們眾弟兄姊妹傳福音拯救失喪靈魂的熱誠，鼓勵我們投身於本地佈道外展和普世宣教。

生命小組事工與各個團契和生命小組的領袖同工們以及核心家庭們一起，藉著這個牧養平台幫助弟兄姊

妹屬靈生命的成長，並增進彼此間的生命連結。我們分別於 1 月 13 日和 7 月 28 日組織了主題為「同進

流奶與蜜之地」和「宣教的心」的聯合聚會，弟兄姊妹都有非常好的參加與回應。今年的夏季郊遊改由

各團契和生命小組自由組合進行，效果也很好，增加了團契和生命小組間的聯絡與互動。感謝主，今年

國語堂從信心小組分出了一個新的生命小組–和平小組！

感謝神的恩典，帶領袁俊林傳道和李曉師母於 9 月 1 日開始來到國語堂參與牧養神的教會。同工領袖和

弟兄姊妹們都在愛中接納他們，幫助他們盡快適應麥浸教會和國語堂的事工。今年的國語堂事工會得到

了更新和增強：有 4 年任期的新執事王劍執事和朱奕珠執事，有 2 年任期的新議會議員楊海弟兄和趙海

峰弟兄，有 23 位弟兄姊妹參與的各個事工部門的事工委員會的團隊。特別感恩的是，今年建立了 7 位弟

兄組成的行政事工委員會，提供國語堂所有事工的行政支持，包括主日崇拜的接送、浸禮的輔助設置、

交通指揮和音響攝像等服侍。神不斷地塑造和裝備弟兄姊妹的服侍生命，培育和建立團隊服事的精神，

幫助我們各盡其職，同心服侍，同工建造教會我們屬靈的家！

展望新的一年，我們期盼著神幫助我們進一步塑造更像主基督的門徒生命。麥浸2019年開始的主題是：

「齊心承傳福音，銳意建立門徒！」這是基於主耶穌的大使命。我們盼望藉著門徒訓練的安排，使每位

弟兄姊妹都自覺自願地進入門徒訓練的生命進程中，不僅追求自己屬靈生命的成熟，也藉著承傳福音引

人歸主和彼此督導栽培而達致屬靈的倍增，擴展神的國度。同時，我們也盼望在尋求仰望神的引導下，

適時在國語堂開展婚姻家庭事工和學生事工。相信創始成終的主會讓我們在新的 2019 年裡再次經歷祂

豐盛的慈愛、信實與恩典！

YLD Children 2018 Annual Report Pastor Ada Yu

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

(Romans 8: 28) 2018 was a challenging year for YLD! The constant shortage of volunteers from nursery to grade 9 was a struggle for the ministry. Despite the shortage of volunteers, we thank God for His provision of passionate volunteers who faithfully served in the YLD. Their partnership definitely has contributed to the spiritual growth of God’s promise to “those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This year, a special team has been set up for the best interest of the Grade 7 to 9. Praise the Lord! A group of brothers and sisters passionately came together to serve them. May our Lord give us strength, wisdom and direction in walking together with the Grade 7 to 9! Worship Thank God for providing a good and safe environment for children to worship. We are glad to see the numbers of children growing over the year. Although we have challenges on space and manpower, God always provides and helps us to work it through. I am glad to see children growing up at YLD Children. Children are happy to come, are good at memorising the bible verse and are learning to be a kind and loving person. We have new worship coordinators for both junior and senior worship this year. We started to have a prayer time for children senior worship. Hope children will learn the importance of prayers. Thank Pastor Ada for leading, guiding and helping our children ministry. Thank God's provision for speakers, teachers and helpers. Thanks for all the faithful servants in children worship. Every Sunday, there were three YLD worships, namely Driven worship, Senior Children worship and Junior Children worship. Thanks to those who worked so hard to put together the worship for both the youth and children! May our Lord enjoy our worship and bless each one of us! Children Sunday School The shortage of volunteers is a predicament in the Children Sunday School. Aiming to lessen the stress of scarce supply of teachers and to engage the SK to Grade 6 in a more focused and fun learning environment, a new format and new curriculums were implemented. The new format has pros and cons to the students. Some students liked it while some preferred the previous format. However, this new approach definitely has lessened the stress of teachers and the stress of finding teachers. So far, we have tried two curriculums: the Super Book and Friends and Heroes. Both were good except for the fact that lots of preparation was required. We will try one or two more in the coming year before making the final decision. May our Lord give us insight and wisdom to make a decision according to His desire! Grade 7 to 9 Sunday school Thanks to the new nurturing team for their faithfulness and passion to serve the youth! It is a challenging group as they are in the rapid learning and growing stage and can easily get offended and bored. Lot of prayers,

creativity and wisdom are required for teachers to work with this group. Please pray for all teachers who walk and learn together with the youth! Timotheus Due to shortage of counsellors, Timotheus was changed from weekly to two times per month from September. Hopefully in the near future, more counsellors will join the team and Timotheus will go back to normal schedule. This school year, Timotheus will focus on relationship building and Bible studies. Grace Fellowship Grace fellowship started in October with 20 kids. The highlight for this school year is “Hear the voice of God”. The aim is to equip children with understanding on how to hear the voice of God in daily life. Thanks to Wendy and Francis’ baking and cooking project. It was so much fun for kids to put their creativity in cooking. Also, big thanks to Sinyi Leung for teaching Chinese calligraphy and painting. With her tactful teaching, kids instantly turned into Chinese painting experts! Also, thanks to parents for the provision of snacks! Fall Festival 2018 Fall Festival was a lot of fun! Thanks to scouts and many brothers and sisters who came out to make this festival a success! VBC Praise the Lord for the outreach opportunities through the Summer Vacation Bible Camp. This year, the theme was “The Action Bible”. There were 135 campers and over 100s of volunteers involved in the ministry. The two field trips were at the Science Centre and Fort York National Historic Site. Both trips were educational and fun. Praise God for the numerous opportunities to share the gospel and have fellowship with campers and volunteers! Thanks to the two coordinators: Hannah Chan and Avery Leung, for their dedication and leadership. Also thanks to all volunteers, especially day care, food and registration teams for their fabulous and faithful service in our Lord! Special thanks to the VBC Executive committee Chair Esther. She did fabulous work in orchestrating the coordination and thus made the 2018 VBC a big success! Scout Ministry The 3rd Unionville Scout Group experienced new changes in 2018. There were three major shifts. Firstly, thanks to Pastor Freddy for the past many years as our Chaplain; starting from this year, we have Pastor Ada as our Scouting Chaplain. Secondly, thanks to Benedict as he accepted the responsibility as our church representative. Thirdly, big welcome to Benjamin and Collin who joined the 3rd Unionville Scout Committee. Benedict and Collin also became the Troop section leader and Group Administrator respectively. Moreover, they voluntarily and passionately took up the sharing of Spiritual messages to the Beaver, Cub and Troop sections. This year, we had 33 Scouters and 92 participants in all three sections combined. The Family Camp was held at Camp Samac with 65 youths and 55 adults from May 18 to 20, 2018. Special thanks to Pastor Florence Leong who was the parenting workshop speaker on the topic of "Conversation for Connection with Children".

A wonderful Christmas Dinner and Celebration was held on December 12, 2018. We had about 150 people who came to have good food and fun time together! Thanks to Pastor Ada’s Christmas message to all the attendees. Thanks to the Police Department for their community service to our parents and kids. A special workshop on Cyber Bulling was arranged for parents for the awareness of cyber hazard. Another workshop was conducted for Cubs and Troops to acknowledge the role and importance of police force. Praise God for His continuous supply of volunteers to the Scout ministry and blessings to all families who are faithfully involved in the 3rd Unionville scouting ministry! Children’s Choir Ministry During the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 Choir Season, 50 choir members were enrolled into MCBC Children and Youth Choir. A Choir Orientation Camp was held on September 7-9 at Camp Samac. Members learned Vocal techniques, Music Theory, Spiritual Lessons about Songs from the Musical and through Team Building Games, they learned to work together. Choir members sang at key seasonal events, such as Chinese New Year, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day at three languages Worship Services and Children Worship, as well as served at MCBC Christmas Eve Service. Additionally, some Choir members took part in leading Singspiration at Children Worship in June. As for our Handbell Program, we have 4 ringers in the Handbell Quartet and 6 ringers in Handchime Ensemble. Occasionally, the two groups joined together and rang songs for 4 Octaves Handbells and Handchimes at various services. On June 10, Choir members and ringers attended our Annual Year-end Recital. They sang or played instruments as a soloist or in an ensemble. This was an important experience for each member as they showcased their learning through the recital. Apart from these events, members participated in various outreach programs. For example, Choir members and ringers served at “Have a Blessed Easter” at Splendid China Mall on Mar 31 and “The Most Wonderful Christmas” at New Kennedy Square on Dec. 22. These events were organized by TCCSTM. Furthermore, MCBC Handbell Choir also performed at SJMC 6th Anniversary Concert at Toronto Emmanuel Church on June 16 and at the "Ring in Christmas” Concert which was organized by The Ontario Guild of English Handbell Ringers on November 17.

讚美全能的神！祂帶領麥浸行政部渡過繁忙的一年。

• 行政部已經意識到多層停車的問題。通常在星期日早上崇拜聚會，當停車場爆滿，一些人並不知

道車位已滿的情況下，仍然駕車往頂層進發，最後不得不駕車掉頭離開，白走一趟。安放在停車

場入口的汽車指示系統可顯示停車位可用的數量，但經過市場調查後發現該系統十分昂貴，行政

部會將進一步尋找其他可行的技術解決方案。

• 教會戶外 LED 顯示屏日趨老化，將於 2019 年夏季更換。現有的顯示屏已有超過 18 年歷史，它已

損壞且無法修復。今天的新科技將提供更高的清晰度及能見度。

• 兩部 LED 新投影屏幕於 2018 年 4 月已安裝在崇拜禮堂，而第三部亦安放在運動室。讚美主!會眾

現在可在屏幕上清晰看到講道經文信息。

• 第一期教會建築的冷暖空調系統設備已使用 20 多年，近年來需要經常進行昂貴的維修。感謝主

的供應，聖誕節前夕安裝了新的冷暖空調系統。

• 利用安省政府提供的節能補貼計劃，用了十多年的舊式燈飾設備將採用更節能的 LED 燈進行改裝，

該項目工程將於 2019 年 1 月完成，預計新安裝後能源費用將大幅節省。

• 寫字樓空間曾重新規劃，以應付不斷增加的職員人數；但由於翻新工程費用龐大，決定推遲該計

劃，以便進行更合適的研究和規劃。

• 鑒於青少年崇拜地方、主日學及其他會議的需要，議會已批淮轉換房間計劃。青少年堂將從小禮

堂遷至現有的圖書館，而圖書館則搬到 B07 室(現有的詩班房) ，粵語及國語詩班則遷往小禮堂

練習唱詩，該搬遷計劃將於 2019 年 2 月底完成。

• 在夏天崇拜時，耀眼的陽光從禮堂天窗照射進來，影響一些會眾安心的敬拜。行政部一直尋找解

決方案，新堂初建時曾裝置上防曬膜，但耐用性不如理想。該部門將會進行更多考究，尋找更佳

的解決方案。

• 在伍志偉執事的帶領及黃秉權弟兄的幫助下，成立了「辨公室指導委員會」，以調查教會各事工

的需要及困難，並提出各方面的改進方法。該委員會亦與各事工領袖及成員舉行了多次會議，收

集了大量寶貴數據。教會領袖將利用這些資料來解決問題，並改善各樣的事工。

• 十分感謝電腦部弟兄在過去的一年幸勤工作，提高整個教會 WIFI 進入效率；安裝不同的新線路

及軟件仍在進行中，預計該項目於 2019 年初完成。

• 電腦部計劃建立一個教會管理系統(Church Management System) ，以提高寫字樓及各事工效率，

一些主要問題還有待解決。讓我們祈求主賜予這些弟兄智慧，使該項目得以成功進行。

• 行政主理周修強弟兄多年來在教會傾力投入工作，現已退休。衷心感謝他多年來勤奮工作，並祝

願他有一個愉快的退休生活。同時我們歡迎周倩儀姊妹成為新的行政主理，祈求主帶領及賜她智

慧和屬靈力量以應付未來的所有挑戰，並祝願她在教會工作中一切順利。

2018 Administrative Board Report Brother Simon Cheung Praise our Almighty God who carried us through a busy year at the MCBC admin department.

• The admin board has become aware of a problem in the multi-level parking garage. Often on many Sunday mornings, parking spaces are full. Those who are unaware of the lot full situation have to turn back down after a frustrated trip to the top of the multi-level lot. A parking space availability indicator system would show number of available spaces at the entrance. A number of systems on the market have been studied but most are costly. The admin board will further search for other viable technology solutions.

• The aging outdoor LED display is due to be replaced in the summer of 2019. The existing display is over

18 years old, broken and beyond repair. Today’s newer technology will provide much higher clarity and visibility.

• Sanctuary projection screens have been replaced with two LED video walls in April 2018. A third one has

also been installed in the gymnasium. God’s words in sermons and messages can now be clearly read by worshipers. Praise the Lord!

• The old HVAC equipment for the phase one building had been in service for more than 20 years. It needs

frequent costly repairs in the recent years. New HVAC equipment has been installed just before Christmas time. Thank God for His provision.

• After more than 10 years of service, the old style light fixtures and light bulbs are due to be retrofitted

with much more energy efficient LED lights. Taking the advantage of a cost savings grant from the Ontario government, this project is to be completed in January of 2019. Substantial savings on the energy bill is expected after the new installation.

• An office space redesign plan was proposed to accommodate increasing staff numbers. Due to the

substantial cost of this major renovation, the plan is deferred for more study and planning.

• In view of the needs of the YLD ministry for more suitable venue for worship, Sunday school classes and other meetings, the church council has approved a rooms switching plan. YLD will move down from the Chapel to the existing Library, while Library will move to B07 (the existing Choir room). Cantonese and Mandarin Choirs will move to the Chapel for choir practices. The move is scheduled to be finished by the end of February of 2019.

• In summer time, bright sunlight coming through the sanctuary skylight windows has been a problem for

some congregations during the worship hours. Admin board has been searching for solution to address this problem. Window tinting film was applied in the early part of the year but has proved to be costly and non-durable. More research will be conducted to find a better solution.

• Under the leadership of Deacon Paul Ng, and with the help of Brother Raymond Wong, the “Office Direction Committee” was formed to investigate each ministry’s needs, difficulties, and ways to improve in all directions. A number of meetings with ministry’s leaders and members were conducted which resulted in a good collection of valuable data. Church leaders will use this information to address the problems and to improve God’s ministries.

• Big thanks to IT team Brothers who have spent a busy year in 2018, working hard to improve the church-

wide WIFI access efficiency. Installation of various new wirings and hardware has been ongoing. Completion of project is expected in early 2019.

• IT Team is also planning on a Church Management System (CMS) to improve the working efficiency of

the church office and various ministries. Some major wrinkles still have to be ironed out. Let’s all pray for these Brothers to gain wisdom from God in order to implement this project successfully.

• After many years of dedicated service at MCBC, Church executive officer Paul S K Chau has retired from

his post. We sincerely thank Brother Paul for so many years of diligent service and wish him a very happy, enjoyable retirement. At the same time, we welcome Sister Sin Yi Chow on board to be the new church EO. May the Lord guide her with spiritual energy and wisdom to resolve all challenges ahead. We wish her every success in her future endeavours with MCBC.

差傳委員會報告 – 2018 黃李懿倫姊妹, 陳國志弟兄

所有基督教會都有同一使命，就是：「所以你們要去，使萬民作我的門徒，奉父子聖靈的名，給他們施

浸，凡我所吩咐你們的，都教訓他們遵守；我就常與你們同在，直到世界的末了。」太28：19-20。

透過差傳事工，麥浸弟兄姊妹能匯集資源 (包括禱告，時間，精力及金錢)來達成此最終目標 -- 主耶穌

基督吩的大使命。我們的祈望是讓門徒從本地至普世教會中為完成此使命而興起。

差傳委員會有幸能參與這事工一同事奉主。我們嘗試在不同的領域中去推動事工，這包括 (1) 積極支持

「長期」宣教士及宣教機構；(2) 發掘及推廣本地及世界各地的短宣項目，讓麥浸弟兄姊妹能一同參與；

(3) 藉經濟支持神學生裝備未來全職工人。

差傳委員會亦努力與麥浸領袖及會眾同工，鼓勵弟兄姊妹代禱及參與差傳事工。

宣教士及機構支持

2018年，麥浸支持了 26 位宣教士/家庭及 13 間宣教機構事奉於世界的不同角落。在年內, 我們又新加

了支持三位宣教士去代替三位退休宣教士。我們也同時給予宣教士們其他支援。例如, 宣教事工推廣，

安排本地活動場地及合辦短宣項目等等。

傳統上，麥浸支持的宣教士及機構大多是以東南亞為事奉工場。為了擴大宣教視野，我們已開始擴展其

他地區的宣教事工。願望能服侍更多福音未達的不同文化與社群。我們深感普世宣教有著龐大的需要但

資源卻是有限，所以請繼續為禾場前線宣教士的需要代禱、支持。

短/中宣事工

2018 年，41 位弟兄姊妹參與了由教會主辦的五個短宣項目，支援位於歐洲 (意大利，西斑牙)，美國(羅

徹詩特)的教會和駐柬浦寨，德國及緬省的宣教士。他/她們的事奉範圍包括了兒童青少年事工，主日學

老師培訓，外展活動，探訪及小組聚會等。另外還有相若數目的弟兄姊妹參與在多倫多市中心及滑鐵盧

地區教會的本地宣教事工。參加短宣的人數每年都有穩定增長。

我們亦喜見短宣項目已成為跨堂(粵，國，英)的項目，參加者都樂意在祈禱會和小組聚會中分享短宣事

奉的喜樂，經歷和挑戰。

除了參與短宣隊伍，數位心裡火熱的弟兄姊妹為了爭取更深入的體驗, 決定在工場奉獻更長時間。在

2018年，一位會友陪同本會支持駐柬浦寨的宣教士於當地便服侍了超過兩個月；另一位姊妹也於暑假期

間在日本一間教會中事奉。還有一位弟兄己準備於2019年農曆新年期間前往南美哥倫比亞參與當地教會，

支持宣教士的事工。

神學生支持

讚美主，三位教會支持的神學生在去年完成了道學碩士課程。兩位已全職牧會，其中一位國語堂的弟兄

已加入位於大多市的教會事奉，另一位英語堂的弟兄現在香港的教會事奉；第三位也是英語堂的弟兄事

奉於輔導事工。

至十二月底，教會支持四位神學生，其中一位剛在2018年秋季開始修讀道學碩士課程。

展望

為配合未來十年的主題『齊心承傳福音，銳意建立門徒』，教會會積極招集和培育門徒。差傳委員會亦

會繼續推動弟兄姊妹加入宣教隊伍，成為「差者」或是「傳者」。透過普世教會的宣教工作去轉化未得

之民，作基督的門徒，建立祂的國度。

我們也藉此感謝過去一年參與宣教事工弟兄姊妹的忠心事奉。對於各會眾給予教會及其他宣教人員/機

構的慷慨大力支持, 我們深切感恩。讓我們成為流通管子, 把基督的愛，從本地彰顯至海外。

Mission Board Report – 2018 Sister Elaine Wong / Brother K.C. Chan All churches have been given one mission: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20). Through the Mission Ministry, brothers and sisters in MCBC can pool their resources (prayers, time, energy and finance) within the church to accomplish this ultimate goal – the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our desire is to see disciples of Jesus be raised within the local church and among all the nations. Mission Board is privileged to play a part in serving Him in this important role. We try to achieve this in various contexts: (1) financially supporting “long-term” missionaries and mission organizations; (2) promoting opportunities for MCBC’s brothers and sisters to participate in “short term mission programs” locally and around the globe; and (3) equipping future ministry servants through financial support to seminary students. Mission Board also seeks to work with MCBC leaders and members of the congregation to encourage prayer support and participation in Mission Programs. Missionary and Mission Organization Support At end 2018, MCBC was financially supporting a total of 26 missionaries and families and 13 mission organizations serving different localities around the globe. When needed, we also assisted with their program promotion, provision of venues and STM partnerships. During the past year, three new missionaries were added to our support pool, replacing three retiring missionaries. Traditionally, MCBC’s mission partnership with missionaries and organizations has been mostly SE Asian based. In efforts to move towards a more global perspective, we have begun developing mission partnerships with missionaries and organizations in different parts of the world, serving less-reached regions and more diverse peoples groups and cultures. We recognize that the needs of missionaries serving globally are vast and the resource is limited. Please pray for our missionaries in the front line of the mission fields. Short / Medium - Term Mission In 2018, 41 brothers and sisters participated in five church-sponsored Short-term Mission (STM) programs. These teams supported local churches in Europe (Italy, Spain), Rochester (USA) and missionaries in Cambodia, Germany and Manitoba. They served in children & youth programs, Sunday School teachers training, evangelistic outreach activities, visitations and small group meetings. Similar number of brothers and sisters joined the local mission activities in Toronto Downtown and a local church in Waterloo area. We see that the number of brothers and sisters joining short term missions is growing steadily over the years. We are also pleased to see that STM programs have become cross-division joint events among our Cantonese, Mandarin and English-speaking divisions. Participants shared their joy, excitement and challenges in sharing sessions at prayer meetings and joint Small Group gatherings. In addition to STM teams, several passionate brothers and sisters decided to stay at the mission fields for a longer period to gain a deeper experience. In 2018, a church member served with our supported missionary in Cambodia for over two months. Another sister went to Japan over the summer months to serve in a local church. One

brother is heading to S. America in the 2019 Chinese NY period to serve alongside with our supported missionary in Columbia. Seminary Student Support We rejoice with three of our supported seminary students who completed their Master of Divinity degree in the past year. Two have entered full-time pastoral ministry service, one (from Mandarin Division) in a church in GTA and the other (from English Division) in a church in Hong Kong. The third graduate (also from English Division) is now serving as a counsellor. As of the end of December, four seminary students are being supported by the church, including a new student who started his M. Div. program in the fall of 2018. Looking Forward In the next 10 years, under the overarching theme “Disciples Making Disciples”, MCBC will seek to cultivate a culture of discipline among its own members. Mission Board will continue to actively launch our brothers and sisters to join Mission Ministry as senders and goers. It is God’s plan in this world to establish His kingdom through churches to bring new believers to Christ through the work of missions. Thank you to all who have served in Mission Ministry during this past year, your dedication and commitment are greatly appreciated. To our congregation, we are humbled by your generosity and support for MCBC and to those mission servers beyond the church, through the giving and partnering we do - letting the love of Christ be shown toward individuals in need, in our local community and beyond.

Honey”, 150 attended (including 30 children) January 21 Training of Caring Ministry on telecare for newcomers (Mandarin); 21 attended January 28 Gospel Sunday (Cantonese) – Topic: “The Saviour’s Call”; Speaker: Rev. Dr. Joe Kok; 1 converted

to Christ, 6 reverted, 8 willing to know more about the Gospel February 2-4 Koinonia Winter Retreat (YLD) at Mini-yo-we Outdoor Centre. Theme: “Light the Path”; 43

July 3-21 8 MCBC members joined the Europe Christian Education Short-term Mission team (organized by CCEMA) for coordinating a children Bible summer camp and training of Sunday School teachers

July 14-20 Rev. Freddy Lam led a team of 6 to Manitoba First Nations Reserve Camp for short-term mission with Pathway Camp Ministries

July 28 SGSP Joint Group Gathering (Mandarin)- Theme: “Mission Heart”; over 70 attended July 29 Gospel Sunday (Cantonese) – Topic: “The Winner’s Choice”; Speaker: Rev. Dr. Calvin Lam; 2

converted to Christ and 4 willing to know more about the Gospel August 1-5 A team of 11 members went to Rochester N.Y. for short-term mission, to share the Gospel with

the Chinese overseas students August 13-24 Vacation Bible Camp – Theme: “Galactic Starveyor”; 135 children campers with about 100

volunteers (youths and adults) participated August 21-25 A team of 44 (35 Cantonese/9 Mandarin) joined the “Jesus Loves China Town” local mission trip

organized by Toronto Short-Term Mission Training Centre, to spread the Gospel in the Toronto China Town area.

August 25 Small Group and Retreat BBQ (English) – For small groups to celebrate mid-year with food and games, and to recount what were learned at the retreat; about 80 attended.

End of August Koinonia Fellowship Graduation Night (YLD) - 12 high school graduates going to post-secondary institutes.

September 1 Pastor Jason Yuan assumed the position of Mandarin Pastor September 7-9 Children and Youth Choir Orientation Camp -- at Camp Samac – 73 attended (including choir

members, parents & volunteers). Activities included vocal training, rhythm teaching, music games, music appreciation, musical audition, outdoor activities and sharing session for the parents on parental skills. Pastor Teresa Tong was the guest speaker for Sunday service.

September 8 SGSP "Add Oil" Leaders Rally, for mutual support and blessings to the Small Group Ministry (Cantonese)- Theme: “Building God’s temple with determination under His excitation”; over 40 attended

September 9 Serving Fair (English): Congregation was given an opportunity to know the various opportunities and needs in different ministries. Worship ministry, in particular, gained a number of new team members.

Live Out Beauty”, “Maturity in Men: Live Out Strength”, “Excitation for SGSP- Imperfect Serving” and “Tips for Communication Between 2 Genders: Differences in Gender Causing Misunderstandings?!”. Speakers were Rev. Peter Chi-Dik Ho and Mrs. Shirley Ho; all events were actively attended.

October 14 “Promise in Sufferings” Evangelistic Meeting (Cantonese) - Speakers: Rev. & Mrs. Peter Ho; around 280 attended, 3 converted to Christ and 1 reverted.

Around 120 Christmas Shoe Boxes with gifts were collected and delivered to the “Operation Christmas Child” for those less fortunate children.

7 members joined the short-term mission trip co-organized with CBM to Goettingen & Kassel, Germany in partnership with our supported missionary Pastor Lewis Lam, serving in the areas of evangelism, family/children ministries and discipleship training.
