7SR45 – ArgusSelf Powered Overcurrent Protection Relay

The 7SR45 numeric relay provides both definite time and inverse time overcurrent and earth fault protection functions. The 4 current inputs are designed to ensure sensitivity with a minimum operate setting of 0.2 x In.The compact non draw out design provides front fascia navigation keys, LCD and front USB port for ease of use.

The relay is powered by the current transformers and does not require connection to an auxillary supply. Configuration can be done from the fascia or via the free of charge Reydisp Evolution PC Software.

The 7SR45 self powered overcurrent and earth fault protection relay is primarily intended for use in Ring Main Units.

Sales TLQ Training – India, 24-26 Feb 2015

Siemens Protection Devices Limited have been staging Sales TLQ training courses for many Global Regions and this time it was for India. It was held in the Goa factory where nearly thirty participants from all over the country attended. The aim of the course is tailored to suit the market and it was decided to use this opportunity to enhance the knowledge base of our colleagues on the new additions that have been added to the Reyrolle portfolio over the last twelve months. This included topics such as the ReyArc busbar protection system and the new 7XG test equipment, along with all new functions and features that have been incorporated into the existing range.

The training course also presented an ideal occasion to give a practical tutorial for IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging between two Reyrolle 7SR23 high impedance relays using the free Reyrolle software ReyDisp Manager to configure them. Whilst the workshop intended the first relay to send a message over the communication network to the second relay, lighting a LED, which then send a signal back to the first relay and light a LED, the real objective of the tutorial was to show how user-friendly the software platform is which our colleagues can then promote to their own customers with confidence and ease.

Upon the conclusion of the TLQ course all the participants were presented with a training certificate indicating the curriculum they had successfully passed.

7XG31 – ReyArc Arc Protection Range

Medium voltage switchgear is a key element in the power supply chain.

Most protection systems operate effectively under the majority of circumstances, but are too slow to handle arcing short circuits. Arcing faults can occur as a result of insulation breakdown due to equipment age and / or poor maintenance. Arc fault protection is employed for the fast clearance of arcing faults on Busbars and within metal clad switchgear and their associated cable boxes. The arc is detected using an optical sensor and can be used in conjunction with an overcurrent protection device to trip the local or upstream circuit breaker.

Channel Partner Meet – India

So far, Siemens India’s Value Added Reseller (VAR) Partner Program has proven an all-round success because of the high quality products, and the outstanding and varied engineering, commissioning and service experience our VAR Channel Partners offer.

To strengthen co-operation within the program and make the partnerships even more effective, all VAR Channel partners across India convened in Goa. Dedicated sales material was available in multi-media formats as well as some of the newly designed and manufactured relays that are now coming out of the Goa factory being showcased. Presentations titled “Unlocking the Global Potential via Indian Channel Partners” and “Siemens Reyrolle Portfolio – A Roadmap into the Future”, from both the German and UK colleagues. This was then followed by awards for the best-performing VARS in terms of sales and number of devices sold.

In addition, participants shared their experiences with working on key projects and building an effective Channel business with new VAR partners received their authorisation certificates. The purpose of the initiative is to promote sales of devices through Channel business in India.

At the very first Channel Partner Meet back in October 2010, E D EA PRO announced an initiative to further boost its channel business in India
