Тому, якщо страва призводить брата мого до гріха, повік не буду їсти м'яса, щоб не спокушувати мого брата. Хіба я не вільний? Хіба я не апостол? Хіба я Ісуса, Господа нашого, не бачив? Хіба ви не моє діло у Господі? Коли іншим я не апостол, то бодай вам, бо ви, у Господі, є достовірним доказом мого апостольства. Кілька слів від нашого Благодійного Фонду…

Ми отримали листа з Донбасу, де, як знаємо, тепер війна. Лист передавався з рук до рук і довго йшов. «Мене звуть Амельченко

Людмила Василівна. Прийміть від мене щиру подяку за Вашу допомогу. Я інвалід 2 групи (перелом шийки бедра), ходжу за допомогою милиць. Моя пенсія у два рази менша, ніж прожитковий мінімум у цій «Донецькій республіці». Я живу з племінником, який є психічно хворий але який не отримує жодної допомоги, бо не йде до місцевих лікарів, яким не довіряє. Можете

собі уявити, як ми тут живемо. Ми не отримуємо допомоги від нікого і цього не сподівалися. Ваша допомога, великої торби з різними продуктами стала для нас дуже радісною подією, та ще й напередодні Нового Року. Я дякую Богу за усіх, хто у вашій церкві не забуває про нас, незважаючи на те, що ми від вас так далеко.»

На даний час ми роздали

2779 торб з продуктами. Нам вже недалеко до мети -

торкнутися 3000 бідних людей!

A few words from our Charitable Program…

We received a letter from the Donbas area. This is the war zone and so the letter was passed along from one person to another and it took a long while before it got here. “My name is Ludmila Amelchenko. Please accept my sincere gratitude for your help. I had a hip fracture and today am an invalid and walk with the help of crutches. My pension is half of the accepted cost of living in this “Donetsk Republic”. І live with my nephew who is mentally ill and does not receive any help because he refuses to go to local doctors for he doesn’t trust them. So you can imagine how we live here. We do not receive help from anyone and were not expecting anything. Your gift of a large bag of food with various products was a joyful event for us and it came just before the New Year. I thank God for everyone in your church who is concerned about us, even though we are so far away from you.”

To date, we have distributed

2779 bags of food. We are not very far from our goal of touching

3000 needy people!

+Eduard Korobkin was buried from our church. We pray to our Almighty Father that He accept him into His Heavenly Kingdom. May he rest in peace!

Другої спроби прожити сьогодні не буде

Буденність створює ілюзію: все крутиться своїм шляхом і здається, так триватиме завжди. Однак найбільше повертає до “тверезого” життя, як би це не було парадоксально, його втрата кимось із близького оточення. Як не дивно, але саме зустріч зі смертю і своєю немічністю перед вічними законами людського буття приводить до тями. Починаємо задумуватись, а наскільки певним є завтрашній день кожного з нас. І чи все сьогодні мені вдалося виконати? Чи сьогодні, лягаючи спати, я міг би залишити цей світ із відчуттям виконаного обов’язку? Ми не знаємо ні дня ні години, коли залишимо цей світ. І чомусь так часто поводимось як багатий власник, який заповнив усi можливі засіки зерном – і тієї ж ночі помер. Для християн смерть втратила значення остаточного кінця. Вона – лише перехід до вічності. Однак до вічності, яку тут здобуваємо собі, живучи. А чи не переймаємось ми лише матеріальними засіками? Чи не аж занадто дозволяємо суєтності проникати у наші серця? Сьогодні ніколи не вдасться повторити. Бо завтра завжди буде іншим. Слід наважуватись бачити глибше і слухати голосу Богу, який говорить у тиші. Скільки часу сьогодні ми провели на розмові з Богом? Скільки хвилин витратили на те, щоби підготуватись до приходу Ісуса? Але будьмо відверті. Не буде такої ж нагоди зробити добру справу як сьогодні, промовити добре слово, поговорити з близькими і з Богом. Завтра, можливо, будуть інші – але сьогоднішні, які не використаємо, назавжди залишаться згаяними.

There will be no second chance to live today’s day

Daily routine creates an illusion: everything runs its course and it seems to us that this will last forever. And yet, paradoxically, what brings us back to reality is the loss of someone who is close to us. Oddly enough, it is an encounter with death and our frailty in the face of eternal laws that brings us to our senses. We start asking ourselves how certain is tomorrow’s day for each of us. Was I able to finish everything that I set out to do today? As I lie down to sleep tonight can I leave this world feeling that I have fulfilled all of my obligations? We don’t know the day or the hour that we will have to leave this world. So why do we often act as the rich proprietor who filled all possible bins with grain and that night left this world. For Christians death has lost its meaning of finality. It is only a passing into eternity. However it’s an eternity that we gain through living life on earth. Are we only concerned with filling our material bins? Do we allow too much vanity to penetrate our hearts? Today is never to be repeated for tomorrow will be different. One must dare to look deeper and listen to the voice of God speaking in silence. How much time did we spend today speaking to God? How many minutes did we spend preparing for the coming of Jesus? Let's be honest. We will never have the same opportunity to do a good deed or to share a kind word as we do today, to talk to our loved ones and with God. Tomorrow there might be other opportunities but if we don’t take advantage of what today has to offer it will be lost forever.

І зберуться перед ним усі народи, і він відлучить їх одних від одних, як пастух відлучує овець від козлів; і поставить овець праворуч себе, а козлів ліворуч. Тоді цар скаже тим, що праворуч нього: Прийдіть, благословенні Отця мого, візьміть у спадщину Царство, що було приготоване вам від створення світу. Бо я голодував, і ви дали мені їсти; мав спрагу, і ви мене напоїли; чужинцем був, і ви мене прийняли; нагий, і ви мене одягли; хворий, і ви навідались до мене; у тюрмі був, і ви прийшли до мене. Тоді озвуться праведні до нього: Господи, коли ми бачили тебе голодним і нагодували, спрагненим і напоїли? Коли ми бачили тебе чужинцем і прийняли, або нагим і одягнули? Коли ми бачили тебе недужим чи в тюрмі й прийшли до тебе? А цар, відповідаючи їм, скаже: Істинно кажу вам: усе, що ви зробили одному з моїх братів найменших – ви мені зробили. Тоді скаже й тим, що ліворуч: Ідіть від мене геть, прокляті, в вогонь вічний, приготований дияволові й ангелам його; бо голодував я, і ви не дали мені їсти; мав спрагу, і ви мене не напоїли; був чужинцем, і ви мене не прийняли; нагим, і ви мене не одягнули; недужим і в тюрмі, і не навідались до мене. Тоді озвуться і ті, кажучи: Господи, коли ми бачили тебе голодним або спраглим, чужинцем або нагим, недужим або в тюрмі, і тобі не послужили? А він відповість їм: Істинно кажу вам: те, чого ви не зробили одному з моїх братів найменших – мені також ви того не зробили. І підуть ті на вічну кару, а праведники – на життя вічне.” Причасний: Хваліте Господа з небес, хваліте його в вишніх. Радуйтеся, праведні, у Господі, правим належить похвала. Алилуя, Алилуя, Алилуя.

When did we welcome you away from home or clothe you in your nakedness? When did we visit you when you were ill or in prison?” The king will answer them: “I assure you, as often as you did it for one of my least brothers, you did it for me.” Then he will say to those on his left: “Out of my sight, you condemned, into that everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! I was hungry and you gave me no food. I was thirsty and you gave me no drink. I was away from home and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing. I was ill and in prison and you did not come to comfort me.” Then they in turn will ask: “Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or away from home or naked or ill or in prison and not attend you in your needs?” He will answer them: “I assure you, as often as you neglected to do it to one on these least ones, you neglected to do it to me.” These will go off to eternal punishment and the just to eternal life.'' Communion Hymn: Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Exult, you just, in the Lord; praise from the upright is fitting. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.

As every year, our parish is sponsoring a PRE-CANA Program

for all those who plan to get married this coming year. Please note that

we hold Pre Cana courses only once a year and this year it will be on

the weekend of March 28th & 29th. Please register as soon as possible.
