Draw Control Drills

• “Toss it”: 2 players: 1 with ball; 2nd chases• “Box Out”: 3 players: 1 with ball; 2 chase– Teach “step and box out” (Basketball)

• “2 Sections”: Work the Circle, O and Dboxes• “Bucket Drill”: We’re doing a drill—put 5, 10,

whatever # of balls in a bucket. When there’s an unforced turnover, take a ball out of the bucket. When all the balls are gone, we run.

• “Survivor”: 2 teams set up to take the draw, full field situation. Team that successfully possesses ball GLE wins the round. Winning team then gets to “vote” a player from the opposing team “off the island” as well as designate an activity for player(s) voted off to do during the draw situation. On all ensuing draws, the team winning the point continues to knock/vote off a player on the other team, choose an activity, and additionally gets to recover/“save” one of their teammates if voted off in a past round. The object is to be the last team with players remaining on the field. Variations: – Add a “money ball” where possession at the GLE is worth two points

—winning team earns 2 votes and 2 “recoveries.”– You may give a bonus point if the team gets to the GLE in less than 10

seconds—to emphasize pushing the ball.
