A job description for theDirector of Districtwide Pro-grams, a position created atthe January meeting, was ap-proved. Among other duties,the person hired for this po-

The board heard and ap-proved reports on the el-ementary and junior-seniorhigh council targets for gapreduction. Elementary teach-er Holly Peters presented theelementary report in the ab-sence of Jennifer Ward. Shenoted the percentage of im-provement set as a goal by2017 in key subjects.

Kevin Stockman, ju-nior-senior high principal,discussed the secondaryschools 2017 goals alongwith the percentage of im-provement his school hopesto achieve on this springstesting. He also presented alist of strategies being usedby staff and students toachieve the goals.

Those are some verygood goals, and we shouldsee a lot of work happen-ing, Proftt commented.

Karen Wallace presentedthe 2013-2014 technologyplan which was approvedby the board. The plan,effective July 1, 2013,to June 30, 2014, guidesthe district in purchasing,implementation and sup-

port of the Comprehen-sive School ImprovementPlans. It also includes goalsand action plans for theirachievement. Wallace saidthe goals set in the 2012-2013 plan have been metexcept for two items on awish list which includedadditional staff.
