About Guangzhou: Guangzhou has a history of more than 2,800 y

ears.Located at the Pearl River Delta( 珠江三角洲 ) area, Guangzhou is the central city of South China.

As the capital of Guangdong province, Guangzhou is one of the most important cities in China with a population of about 10 million,covering an area of 7,400 square kilometers.

A Beautiful Legend about Ram City

In ancient times,Guangzhou was a land of frequent famines and local people had a hard time. One day there were five gods riding five rams slowly occurred in Guangzhou from heaven. Every ram had a rice ear in mouth. The five gods met local people and left their rams and rice—ears to them and blessed them good luck in the future. Since then Guangzhou became a prosperous land of many harvest. Local people built up temple and this special status to memorize those kind—hearted gods. So that’s why this city has a nickname as Ram City and abbreviation name Sui(rice—ear in Chinese).
