Nuestra idea es empezar las clases de forma presencial, adoptando todas las medidas para minimizar los riesgos. Es posible también que algunas facultades opten por un sistema mixto, con enseñanza en línea y también presencial en pequeños grupos. Finalmente, en caso de un rebrote del virus en nuestro entorno, no se descarta recurrir nuevamente a la docencia 100% online.

Our main idea is to be able to hold classes in a face-to-face basis, adopting all the measures needed to minimize the risks. It is possible that some of the faculties go for a mixed method, with online classes and face-to-face classes in small groups. Finally, in the event of a resurgence of the virus in our environment, we do not rule out resorting once again to 100% online teaching.

Jornadas de bienvenida

Con el fin de evitar aglomeraciones, no se organizarán las tradicionales jornadas de bienvenida, sino que se realizarán sesiones informativas en cada una de las facultades, posiblemente de forma virtual. También os informarán vuestros coordinadores sobre ello.

Alojamiento

En cada uno de los tres campus de la UVigo hay diferentes posibilidades en cuanto al alojamiento; residencias universitarias o concertadas de la Uvigo, alojamiento en residencias privadas ajenas a la Uvigo o alquiler de habitaciones en pisos particulares. Welcome days

In order to avoid crowds, the traditional welcome days will not be upheld; instead, there will be informative sessions in each faculty, probably carried out online. Your coordinators will keep you informed about this.

Seguro médico internacional o Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea

Como estudiante de intercambio entrante de la Universidad de Vigo debes disponer de cobertura sanitaria. Es necesario acreditarlo antes de incorporarte a nuestra universidad. Si no lo has hecho junto con la solicitud, tendrás que enviar una copia escaneada del documento que lo acredita a [email protected] antes de tu llegada.

- Los y las estudiantes de la Unión Europea pueden acreditar que tienen cobertura sanitaria mediante la Tarjeta Sanitaria Europea (TSE). Es altamente recomendable que además de tu TSE contrates un seguro médico adicional con cualquier compañía de seguros, que incluya la cobertura de accidentes, el traslado sanitario internacional, la asistencia en viajes, y la repatriación en caso de accidente o enfermedad grave.

- Los y las estudiantes extracomunitarios necesitarán contratar un seguro internacional privado. Antes de venir, asegúrate de preguntar a tu compañía de seguros el número de teléfono de asistencia en el extranjero y a qué clínica o centro de salud te corresponde acudir en Vigo, Ourense o en caso de necesitar asistencia médica.

La UVigo es una de las universidades españolas adheridas a OnCampus, compañía especializada en seguros para la comunidad universitaria. Estudantes con diversidad funcional

Si tienes alguna discapacidad o padeces una enfermedad crónica, puedes ponerte en contacto con la Unidad de atención al estudiantado con necesidades específicas de apoyo educativo (UNATEN) enviando un correo a: [email protected]. International health insurance or European health card

As an incoming exchange student at the University of Vigo, you will need health insurance. You will have to give credit to having insurance before starting at our university. In order to do so, if you have not sent this together with your application, you will need to send a copy to [email protected] before your arrival.

- Students from the European Union can prove having health insurance with the European Health Card (EHC). It is highly recommendable that, together with your EHC, you hire an additional health insurance with any company, including accidents, international sanitary transfer, travelling assistance, and repatriation in case of accident or severe illnesses.

- Students from outside the European Union will need to hire an international private insurance. It is convenient that before you come over you ask your insurance company which clinic or medical centre you could go to in Vigo, Pontevedra and Ourense as well as for the assistance phone number from abroad in case you needed medical assistance.

The University of Vigo is one of the Spanish universities adhered to Oncampus, a company specialized in insurance for the university community. On this link you can check their conditions and, if you were interested in it, you could hire the insurance online and print the written proof.

Acuerdo académico / Contrato de estudios

Deberás elegir la mayoría de tus materias entre las que se imparten en tu Facultad o Escuela (la que figura en tu carta de aceptación). Normalmente podrías elegir también materias de otras facultades del mismo campus, siempre que sus horarios fuesen compatibles. Sin embargo, este año, para facilitar el seguimiento en caso contagio, se recomienda elegir únicamente materias de un solo centro.

Para ello deberás consultar la Guía Académica en la página web de dicha facultad o escuela (atención a las siglas 1C o 2C, que significan 1º o 2º cuatrimestre y, lógicamente, deberán corresponderse con el período de tu intercambio). Cuando tengas tu propuesta deberás enviársela a la persona responsable de relaciones internacionales en tu facultad para que la revise y la firme o te indique si debes hacer algún cambio.

Materias en inglés o English Friendly: la mayoría de las materias se imparten en castellano o gallego. También existe una oferta de materias en inglés y otras, denominadas English Friendly, en las que se dan facilidades para su seguimiento en inglés, aunque se imparten en castellano o gallego. Certificado de llegada

Una vez que estés aquí, deberás enviarnos un email indicando tu fecha de llegada para que preparemos tu documento de llegada. Será firmado digitalmente y te lo enviaremos a ti, con copia a tu universidad también a través del correo electrónico. Debido a las medidas de distanciamiento social, no deberás acudir presencialmente a nuestra oficina.

Debido a la situación creada por la COVID-19 y, con el fin de garantizar la seguridad del personal de administración y servicios, te informamos de que es necesario pedir una cita para poder recibir atención presencial en la Universidade de Vigo.

Learning agreement

You will have to choose most of your subjects from those taught in your Faculty or School (the one in your acceptance letter). Normally you could also choose subjects from other faculties on the same campus, as long as their schedules were compatible. However, this year, to facilitate follow-up in case of contagion, it is recommended to choose only materials from one center.

In order to do that you will have to check the Study Guide on the website of that faculty or school (pay attention to the acronyms 1ºC/2ºC, which mean first/second semester, and obviously will have to be at the same time as your exchange period). When you have your proposal, you will have to send it to the person responsible for international relations in your faculty so they can check and sign it, or tell you if you need to make any changes.

Once you are here, you will have to send us a document indicating your date of arrival so we can get your arrival confirmation document ready. It will be digitally signed and we will send it to you – your university will be on copy – by e-mail.

Matrícula

Todo el alumnado entrante de intercambio, salvo los estudiantes en prácticas, deberá realizar la matrícula de todas las asignaturas que cursará en la Universidade de Vigo en el Área de Grado/Postgrado de la facultad indicada en la carta de aceptación. No es posible hacerlo de forma online.

Antes de formalizar la matrícula es aconsejable consultar todas las cuestiones académicas, horarios, calendario de exámenes, etc. con las personas responsable de relaciones internacionales de la facultad/ escuela que consta en la carta de aceptación.

Para realizar la matrícula se necesitarán los siguientes documentos:

- Una fotocopia del pasaporte o del documento de identidad indicado al hacer la solicitud online y cuyo número aparece reflejado en la carta de aceptación.

- Copia de la carta de aceptación proporcionada por la ORI

- Copia del contrato de estudios firmado

Plazos de matrícula: El alumnado de intercambio del 1er cuatrimestre o de intercambio anual podrá matricularse en la Universidade de Vigo de todas las asignaturas hasta el 15 de octubre, el alumnado de intercambio del 2º cuatrimestre podrá hacerlo antes del 4 de marzo. Sin embargo, es aconsejable hacer la matrícula lo antes posible, tan pronto como decididas qué asignaturas deseas cursar, puesto que las plazas son limitadas. Una vez matriculado/a obtendrás acceso a la Secretaría virtual, a la cuenta de correo Uvigo, que permite acceder a las redes Wi-Fi, y podrás solicitar la Tarjeta Universitaria.

Teledocencia

Antes del comienzo del curso recibirás, en la dirección de correo electrónico que nos has proporcionado al hacer tu solicitud, tus datos de conexión a la plataforma de teleformación FaiTIC. Allí tus profesores alojarán contenidos relacionados con tus clases, una vez que te hayas matriculado.

Registration

All the incoming exchange students, except interns, should enroll on all the subjects they will take at the University of Vigo in the Postgraduate/Graduate Area of the faculty as mentioned in their letter of acceptance. It is not possible to do this online.

Before formalizing the application is it advised to check the timetables, exams calendar, learning questions, etc. with the persons responsible for international relations at the faculty or school that appears on the letter of acceptance.

In order to formalize the registration the following documents will be needed:

- A copy of the passport or ID card which was used to do the online application and which appears on the letter of acceptance.

- A copy of the letter of acceptance sent by the ORI.

- A signed copy of the learning agreement.

Registration period: the exchange students coming in for the first semester or for annual exchange can register on the subjects up until the 15th of October; the exchange students coming for the second semester can register before the 4th of March. Nevertheless, it is recommendable to register as soon as it is possible, as soon as you have decided what subjects you will take, as the places are limited. Once you have registered you will have access to the online Secretary’s Office, the UVigo e-mail account, which gives Wi-Fi access, and you will be able to request the University Card.

Online teaching

Before the start of the academic year, you will receive your access information to the online teaching platform (FaiTIC) by e-mail. Once you have registered, your teachers will upload content related to your lessons on this application.

Cuenta de correo y conexión WiFi

En lo que respecta a la conexión a la red WI-FI, si ya accedes a la red Eduroam en tu universidad de origen, también podrás conectarte aquí.

En caso contrario, podrás acceder con tu cuenta de correo del tipo @alumnos.uvigo.es. Esta se generará de forma automática, una vez que te hayas matriculado.

Tarjeta de transporte en Vigo

Si vas a vivir en Vigo, puedes utilizar la carta de aceptación para solicitar tu tarjeta de transporte en Vigo en el siguiente enlace: passvigo.vigo.org/solicitar-tarjeta. Tendrás que clicar en la opción “Universitario” que es la que ofrece mejores tarifas. Desde que la solicites hasta que la recibas en el domicilio especificado pueden pasar 2-3 semanas, por lo que es conveniente que la solicites antes de llegar. Si aún no sabes cuál va a ser tu domicilio en Vigo, puedes indicar la dirección de nuestra oficina que figura a continuación como lugar de envío y la enviaremos a tu facultad/escuela para que puedas recogerla allí a tu llegada. Te avisaremos por e-mail cuando puedas recogerla.

Public transport card in Vigo

If you are going to live in Vigo you can use your letter of acceptance to request your public transport card on the following link: passvigo.vigo.org/solicitar-tarjeta.

You will have to click on the option “University student”, which offers the best travelling fees. From the moment you request the card to the moment you get it on the address you have specified, it can take around 2-3 weeks, so it is convenient to request it before your arrival. If you still do not know where you are going to live in Vigo, you can write the address of our office and we will send it to your faculty or school so you can collect the card there upon your arrival. We will let you know by e-mail when you can collect it.

Cursos de español y de gallego para alumnado de intercambio

La UVigo ofrece cursos de español a través del Centro de Lenguas a un precio reducido para todos los estudiantes de intercambio. Consulta su página web para averiguar el procedimiento de matrícula: centrodelinguas.fundacionuvigo.es/

También ofrecemos cursos de lengua y cultura gallega. Son imparten a través del Área de Normalización Lingüística ([email protected]).

Voluntariado

El voluntariado tiene como objetivo principal promover la integración del alumnado en la realidad social y universitaria.

Por qué hacer voluntariado: porque crecerás como persona, dibujarás sonrisas llenas de agradecimiento, serás protagonista y agente de cambio para mejorar el mundo y adquirirás experiencia personal que te abrirá puertas en el futuro.

Las recompensas son muchas: Tu corazón crecerá un 200%; serás diferente de las demás personas con identidad y personalidad propia; fortalecerás tu autoestima; recibirás créditos por compartir horas de tu tiempo (30 horas = 1 crédito ECTS).

Para hacer el Voluntariado tienes que elegir uno de los proyectos que oferta la Universidad de Vigo, ponerte en contacto con la persona que coordina dicho proyecto y hacer la inscripción a través de la Secretaría virtual secretaria.uvigo.gal/uv/web/voluntariado/public o en la página web de la Uvigo.

También existe un programa específico para tí, que se desarrolla en Escuelas de Primaria y Secundaria: es el Social Erasmus.

Spanish and galician courses for exchange students

The University of Vigo offers Spanish courses through the Languages Centre on a reduced fee for all incoming exchange students. Check their website to find out the registration process: centrodelinguas.fundacionuvigo.es/

We also offer free Galician Language and Culture courses through the Area de Normalización Lingüística ([email protected]).

Volunteering

The main objective of volunteering is to promote the integration of students into the social and university reality.

Why volunteer? Because you will grow as a person, you will draw smiles full of gratitude, you will be protagonist and agent of change to improve the world and you will acquire personal experience that will open doors for you in the future.

Certification of end of stay and transcript of records

Before returning to your home country, it is important that you inform us of your departure date so that we can prepare and email you and your home university your End of Stay Certificate.

As for the Transcript of Records corresponding to the studies you have taken at the University of Vigo, we will also send it to you and your university by email. It will be signed with a digital signature, which is an official and verifiable signature, so it is not necessary to issue the document in paper format. It will be issued at the Secretariats of each faculty or school after the evaluation deadline for teachers indicated in the academic calendar.

If you have taken a course at the Centro de Linguas or at the Área de Normalización Lingüística, you must request the corresponding diploma before your departure. The grades for these courses will not appear on the academic certification, as they are not included in the official degree, master’s or doctorate programs.

Certificación de fin de estancia y certificación de notas

Antes de regresar a tu país de origen es importante que nos comuniques tu fecha de partida para que podamos preparar y enviarte por email a ti y a tu universidad de origen tu certificado de fin de estancia.

En cuanto a la certificación académica correspondiente a los estudios que has cursado en la Universidad de Vigo, también te la enviaremos a ti y a tu universidad por correo electrónico. Estará firmado con firma digital, que es una firma oficial y verificable, por lo que no es necesaria la expedición del documento en formato papel. Se expedirá en las Áreas de Grado o Postgrado de cada facultad o escuela tras el cierre de actas de cada período, según se indica en el calendario académico.

Si has realizado algún curso del Centro de Linguas o del Área de Normalización Lingüística, deberás solicitar el correspondiente diploma antes de tu partida. Las calificaciones de estos cursos no aparecerán reflejadas en la certificación académica, ya que no se trata de estudios incluidos en los programas oficiales de grado, máster o doctorado.
