FOREWORD / SPONSORS

Dear Art followersThank you for discovering the First Geshaview International Arts Festival and a warm welcome to everyone especially our guest artists from abroad.

This May brings us again to the start of the better weather here at Geshaview, Dryanovo and welcomes for the first time our guests from the international art world.

The objectives of the Geshaview Arts Festival is to bring together international artists from around the world, together with Bulgarian artists to celebrate a true international flavour of art right here in the heart of Bulgaria.

Our aim is to create artistic partnerships between cultures and to encourage collaborations with other festivals of music and culture, creating an intellectual dialogue of ideas, art experimentation and achievements.

Whilst promoting Bulgarian art to other artists from different cultural backgrounds and encourage young artists from all across Bulgaria to grow into international recognition by experiencing first hand those who already have achieved this recognition.

This, the First Geshaview International Arts Festival will be the foundation for the future. With a 10 year plan to grow the Festival to a grand scale the objective will be to achieve an increasing level of recognition and to really have a platform for the best of Bulgarian art to be seen.

Our humble beginnings will, we believe, with the help and support of others with a similar vision, present all aspects of Bulgarian art to the world.

Our thanks goes out to all the team here at Geshaview, especially the Panev family for making the Festival possible, the local Dryanovo municipality and all the local, regional and national supporters of the 14 day Festival.

We wish for good weather, good health and the rest will, I am sure, find its way to the blank canvass.

For those of you planning to join us please remember to book early, visitors are welcome at any time throughout the Festival, from 6 May till 19 May, 2011.
