From the above figures, it can be deduced that in the case of Suspended type of facade, all the floorspresent are to be considered as middle and therefore only the kits regarding the middle floors are applied. For facades of the Set (flush) type, the highest floor is the top floor while the lowest floor is the bottom floor, and the relative kits are applied. The other types of facade involve mixed type.

    1.6 Moment of inertia screen

This screen allows inputting the following values, valid for all profiles of the series selected:E : modulus of elasticity of the aluminium in Kg/cmF : maximum camber of the mullion in cmSigma Max : normal tensile value in kg/cm

After presetting the parameters, such settings regarding the series selected are saved when passing ontoanother screen or closing the window.

    2. Facade Wizard

When button is pressed, the facade building wizard is run.

2.1Definition of floors and type of facade

When the wizard is run for generating a new facade or curtain wall, and a window opening has not yet beenpreset, the screen shown below is opened as regards the height (H = 4000 mm), number of vertical modules(4) and type of facade (Suspended). The other values to be preset are Z1, Z2, S1, S2, H1, H3 and number of middle floors.

Z1 is considered as the distance between the lower limit of the mullion and the centre-line of the firstseparating rail.

Z2 is considered as the distance between the upper limit of the mullion and the centre-line of the lastseparating rail.

S1 is considered as the distance between the lower limit of the mullion and the centre-line of the first floorfor facades (curtain walls) of the Suspended and Hung type; instead for facades (curtain walls) of the Set(flush) and Lean type, S1 is the distance between the top part of the first floor and the centre-line of thefirst separating rail.

S2 is considered as the distance between the upper limit of the mullion and the centre-line of the last floorfor facades (curtain walls) of the Suspended and Lean type; instead for facades (curtain walls) of the Set(flush) and Hung type, S2 is the distance between the bottom part of the last floor and the centre-line ofthe last separating rail.

H1 is considered as the distance between the first floor and the centre-line of the next one for facades(curtain walls) of the Suspended and Hung type; instead for facades of the Set (flush) and Lean type, H1is the distance between the top part of the first floor and the centre-line of the next floor.

H2 is considered as the distance between the last floor and the centre-line of the one underneath forfacades (curtain walls) of the Suspended and Lean type; instead for facades of the Set (flush) and Hungtype, H2 is the distance between the lower part of the last floor and the centre-line of the one underneath.

Number of middle floors refers to the number of f loors, except for the first and last f loors.

If, instead, a window opening is already present, the height of the opening is preset as H and such valuescannot be modified. However the other parameters are preset at the same standard values describedabove.

Press the Next button to continue creation of the facade (curtain wall). Press the Close button, the systemquits the wizard immediately. The parameters required for continuing in the wizard are the height, number of vertical modules, Z1 and Z2.

    2.2 Facade width definition

The standard values proposed in this screen during creation of a new facade (curtain wall) are the width (L =4000 mm), number of horizontal modules (4). The type of facade selected is the Overhang.Following the instructions given in the drawing, proceed to input the values S1, S2 and L\M.

S1 is considered as the distance between the centre-line of the first mullion on the left and the inner part ofthe left wall in the case of facades (curtain walls) of Overhang or Left mix type; instead, for facades of theRecessed or Right mix type, S1 is the distance between the inner part of the left wall and the centre-lineof the first mullion on the left.

S2 is considered as the distance between the inner part of the right wall and the centre-line of the lastmullion on the right in the case of facades (curtain walls) of Overhang or Left mix type; instead, forfacades of the Recessed or Right mix type, S2 is the distance between the centre-line of the last mullionon the right and the inner part of the right wall.

L is the distance between the inner part of the left wall and the inner part of the right wall.

    3. Facade from an already existing opening

When presetting an opening, before running the facade wizard, certain parameters are already preset, suchas the width and height. It is possible to preset rectangular openings, or 5-sided openings or openings witharcs.

    Figure 32

The facade is created as described in the previous chapter, the only difference being that dimensions L andH cannot be modified.

The following tools can be used to input an opening:

    4-sided opening with right-angled corners

Polygonal opening, free hand (only 4- or 5-sided polygon but with lower side parallel to the ground)

Opening from model (only certain models are allowed from the facades; if an invalid one isselected, the message PRM not usable by facade wizard appears

    4. Modification of a facade

    Figure 33

When modifying a facade (curtain wall), proceed to call the facade wizard, with all the previously presetparameters already entered. All the parameters can be modified, but if the L or H dimensions of an arched or 5-sided facade aremodified, the changing of one of these parameters causes automatic modification also of the other. If the number of vertical and/or horizontal modules is modified, or if a piece of the facade is deleted or awhole dimension inside the facade grid, it will not be possible to enter the added items automatically.

The facade wizard should also be called when modifying a style inserted in a job.

Manual replacement of a profile selected in the facade wizard is also possible through Profile definition. If itis a mullion, check whether the new profile has the same chamber as the original one and that all machiningoperations present on the original profile are transferred to the final one. If, instead, the profile code of aseparating rail is to be replaced, besides making sure that the new code has the same chamber, also checkwhether the original profile has components which must not be split; if there are any, they should also bepresent in the new code selected.

    5.2 Presetting of joint parameters

When the Master profile is selected, the values for joints previously preset in the Facade parameters aredisplayed for each component.

Settings of the joints can be of three types, namely:- Default joints: the values preset in Facade parameters are displayed; they cannot be modified- Disabled joints: through this option, the component selected will not have joints.

    - Custom joints: the standard values preset in Facade parameters are displayed; they may be modified.

If such values are entered, they will not affect the general parameters, rather they will be valid only forthe compound being generated.

5.3 Unsplit component in the separating rails

Thanks to this option, if the compound is to be used as separating rail, the component selected is not split. Ifthe compounds used as right or left mullions contain the pressure plate, the length of the unsplit componentis equal to the width of the facade or curtain wall minus the size of the chambers of compounds selected asmullions.
