من ر ام الس د بن يحيى الفح د الحسن بن محم ي أخبرنا أبو محم ثنا عم رآئي قال: حد ثنا إبراهيم بن عبيد للا عمر بن يحيى قال: حدا خلقوا من فضل طينتنا يسوؤ ادق جعفر ع قال: شيعتنا جزء من هم ما الكنيخي عن أبي عاصم عن الص هم ما يسوؤنا و يسر

نا فإذا هم الذي يوصل منه إلينا. يسر أرادنا أحد فليقصدهم فإن

It was inform to us by Abu Muhammad Al Hassan Bin Muhammad Bin Yahya Al Fahham of Surmanrayy, from his uncle Umar Bin Yahya, from Ibrahim Bin Ubeydullah Al Kinany, from Abu Aasim,

From Al-Sadiq Ja’farasws having said: ‘Ourasws Shias are a part from usasws. They were Created from the remnants of ourasws clay. It disappoints them what disappoints usasws, and it cheers them what cheers usasws. So, if anyone wants usasws, so let one strive for them (their nearness), for they are those who are the means for the one to (reach) usasws’’.1

يب بن شعيب عن أبي الفضل عن أحمد بن هاشم أخبرنا مالك ب ثنا أحمد بن أبي الط ن سليمان عن أبيه عن عمرو بن شمر حدعبي قال: عن الحلج عن الش

It was narrated to us by Ahmad Bin Abu Al Tayyib Bin Shuab, from Abu Al Fazal, from Ahmad Bin Hashim, from Malik Bin Suleyman, from his father, from Amro Bin Shimr, from Al Ahlaj, from Al Shai’e who said,

حق تقاته و ال تموتن إال و أنتم مسلمون سئل الحسن بن علي ع عن هذه الي ة؟ قال نزلت في ة اتقوا للا ة هي أم عام أ خاص ما استطعتم خفيف بعد فاتقوا للا ة ثم جاء الت ة فتعقيب عام قوم خاص

‘Al-Hassanasws Bin Aliasws was asked about this Verse [3:102] Fear Allah with the piety which is due to Him, and do not die unless you are Muslims, is it special or general?’ Heasws said: ‘It was Revealed regarding a particular group, and its commentary is general. Then came the lightening afterwards [64:16] Therefore fear Allah as much as you can’.

فيمن نزلت هذه الية؟ فنكت الرض ساعة ثم رفع بصره ثم ن ا نزل فقيل يا ابن رسول للا ت هذه الية كس رأسه ثم رفع فقال لمة في القربى ه قالوها حسدا قل ال أسئلكم عليه أجرا إال المود ما يريد أن يرفع بضبع ابن عم هذا إن فقال بعض القوم ما أنزل للا

و بغضا لهل بيت النبي ص

It was said, ‘O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww! Regarding who was this Verse Revealed?’ So heasws marked the ground for a while, then raised hisasws sight, then lowered hisasws head, then raised hisasws head and heasws said: ‘When this Verse was Revealed [42:23] Say: I do not ask of you any Recompense for it except for the cordiality for my near relatives, some of the people said, ‘Allahazwj did not Reveal this, but rather hesaww is intending to raise the arm of hissaww cousinasws’. They said it out of jealousy and hatred for the Peopleasws of the Household of the Prophetsaww.

تعالى يختم على أم يقولون افترى فأنزل للا كذبا فإن يشإ للا ا قالوا قبل و ال تعتد هذه المقال و ال يشق عليك م قلبك على للادور ه عليم بذات الص يمحو الباطل و يحق الحق بكلماته إن من فإن للا

So Allahazwj the Exalted Revealed [42:24] Or are they saying: He has forged a lie against Allah? But if Allah so Desired, He would seal your heart. Yousaww are not accustomed to these exchanges, nor let it be grievous upon yousaww what they have been saying before and Allah will Wipe out the falsehood and confirm the Truth with His words; surely He is Aware of what is in the chests.

ص و حزن على ما قالوا و علم أن القوم غير تاركين الحسد و ا لبغضاء فنزلت هذه الية قد نعلم إنه فشق ذلك على رسول للابونك و لكن هم ال يكذ يجحدون ليحزنك الذي يقولون فإن المين بآيات للا الظ

It was grievous upon Rasool-Allahsaww and hesaww grieved upon what they said, and hesaww knew that the people will not be leaving the envy and the hatred. So this Verse was Revealed [6:33] We know indeed that what they say certainly grieves you, but surely they cannnot call you a liar; but the unjust deny the Signs of Allah.

سول بلغ ما أنزل إليك من ربك ها الر ا نزلت هذه الية يا أي مواله فإن عليا مواله اللهم وال من قال يوم غدير خم من كنت فلمما لصاحبه من يلي بعد النبي ص و من يلي وااله و عاد من عاداه فوقع في قلوبهم ما وقع تكلموا فيما بينهم سرا حتى قال أحده

ذا المر ال نجعلها في أهل البيت أبدا بعدك ه

So when this Verse was Revealed [5:67] O Rasool! Deliver what has been Revealed unto you from your Lord, hesaww said on the Day of Ghadeer Khumm: ‘The one whose Master Isaww was, so Aliasws is his Master. O Allahazwj! Befriend the one who befriends himasws and be Inimical to the one who is inimical to himasws’. So there occurred in their minds what occurred. They spoke in between them in secret to the extent that one of them said to his companion, ‘The one will follow after the Prophetsaww, and the one would follow after this matter, we will not let it (Caliphate) be in the Peopleasws of the Household, ever!’

فنزل من بعد ما جاءته فإن للا ل نعمة للا حق تقاته و ال تموتن ثم نزلت شديد العقاب و من يبد ها الذين آمنوا اتقوا للا إال يا أيقوا إلى قوله جميعا و ال تفر يم و أولئك لهم عذاب عظ و أنتم مسلمون و اعتصموا بحبل للا

So it was Revealed [2:211] and whoever changes the Favour of Allah after it has come to him, then surely Allah is Severe in requiting (evil). Then it was Revealed [3:102] Fear Allah with the piety which is due to Him, and do not die unless you are Muslims [3:103] And hold fast by the Rope of Allah all together and be not disunited – up to Hisazwj Words [3:105] grievous Punishment’.

So when the Prophetsaww passed away, they went upon their opinion regarding the Peopleasws of the Household of their Prophetsaww, and what they had agreed upon during hissaww lifetime, and threw behind their backs the Verses of Allahazwj Mighty and

Majestic, and the bequest of Hisazwj Rasoolsaww and the Peopleasws of hissaww Household, as if they were not knowing (anything)’’.2

Hadeeth: ‘The one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of

Muhammadsaww dies a martyr’, etc.

عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد ثنا علي بن عبيد للا عن قيس بن أبي حازم عن جرير بن عبد اعتمادا في الكتاب المذكور قال: حد البجلي قال: للا

Relying upon the mentioned book, said, ‘It was narrated to us by Ali Bin Ubeydullah, from Ismail Bin Abu Khalid, from Qays Bin Abu Hazim, from Jareyr Bin Abdullah Al Bajaly who said,

ص د مات شهيدا أال و من مات على حب آل : قال رسول للا د مات مغفورا له أال و من مات من مات على حب آل محم محمد مات مؤمنا مستكمل اليما د مات تائبا أال و من مات على حب آل محم ن على حب آل محم

‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘The one dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadasws dies a martyr. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww dies (his sins having been) Forgiven for him. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadasws dies a repentant. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammad dies a Momin of the complete Eman.

ة ثم منكر و نكير أال و من ره ملك الموت بالجن د بش د يزف إلى الجنة مات على حب آل م أال و من مات على حب آل محم حم له بابين م د فتح للا ن الجنة كما تزف العروس إلى بيت زوجها أال و من مات على حب آل محم

Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww is given the glad tidings of the Paradise by the Angel of death, the Munkar and Nakeer. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww would be hastened to the Paradise just as the bride is hastened to the house of her husband. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, Allahazwj would Open two doors of the Paradise for him.

حمة أال و من مات ع ار قبره ملئكة الر زو د جعل للا نة أال و من مات على حب آل محم د ص مات على الس لى حب آل محم و الجماعة

Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, Allahazwj would Make the Angels of Mercy to visit his grave. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the love of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, dies upon the Sunnah and the congregation.

د جاء يوم تعالى أال و من مات على بغض آل أال و من مات على بغض آل محم القيامة مكتوبا بين عينيه آيس من رحمة للاة. د لم يشم رائحة الجن د مات كافرا أال و من مات على بغض آل محم محم

Indeed! And the one who dies upon the hatred of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww would come on the Day of Judgment with an inscription between his eyes, ‘Despaired from the Mercy of Allahazwj the Exalted’. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the enmity of Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww dies a disbeliever. Indeed! And the one who dies upon the hatred of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, would not smell the aroma of the Paradise’’.3

مد إبراهيم ثني أبو عبد الص د بن عيسى بن هارون قال: حد ثنا محم د بن إبراهيم قال: حد ه محم عن أبيه عن جد

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Isa Bin Haroun, from Abu Abdul Samad Ibrahim, from his father, from his grandfather Muhammad Bin Ibrahim who said,

ادق جعفر د ع يقول قال سمعت الص لم كافة قال في والية علي بن أبي طالب في قوله تعالى : بن محم بعوا ادخلوا في الس و ال تتبعوا غيره. طوات الشيطان خ قال ال تت

‘I heard Al-Sadiq Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws saying regarding the Words of the Exalted [2:208] O you who believe! Enter into the submission one and all, heasws said: Into the Wilayah of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws and do not follow the footsteps of the Satan, heasws said: ‘Do not follow other than himasws’’.4

ه و هو إب مد إبراهيم عن أبيه عن جد ثني أبو عبد الص د بن السناد عن ابن هارون قال: حد مد بن محم راهيم بن عبد الص إبراهيم قال

(By) the chain, from Ibn Haroun, said, ‘It was narrated to me by Abu Abdul Samad Ibrahim, from his father, from his grandfather, and he is Ibrahim Bin Abdul Samad Bin Muhammad Bin Ibrahim who said,

د ع يقول د على العالمين قال : كان يقر سمعت جعفر بن محم اصطفى آدم و نوحا و آل إبراهيم و آل عمران و آل محم أ إن للا هكذا أنزل.

‘I heard Ja’far Bin Muhammadasws saying: ‘It was being recited [3:33] Surely Allah chose Adam and Noah and the Progeny of Ibrahim and the Progeny of Imran and the Progeny of Muhammad above the nations – This is how it was Revealed’.5

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Abu Abdullah Al Kufy, from Musa Bin Imran Al Nakhai’e, from his uncle Al Husayn Bin Yazeed Al Nowfaly, from Al Husayn Bin Ali Bin Abu Hamza, from his father, from Saeed Bin Jubeyr, from Ibn Abbas who said,

ا رآه بكى ثم قال إلي إلي ص كان جالسا ذات يوم إذ أقبل الحسن ع فلم بني فما زال يدنيه حتى أجلسه على فخذه إن رسول للا اليمن

‘Rasool-Allahsaww was seated one day when Al-Hassanasws came over. So when hesaww saw himasws, hesaww wept, then said: ‘(Come) to me, (come) to mesaww, mysaww sonasws!’ and hesaww did not cease to bring himasws closer until hesaww sat himasws upon hissaww right thigh.

ا رآه بكى قال إلي إلي يا بني و أجلسه على فخذه اليسر ثم أقبل الحسين ع فلم

Then Al-Husaynasws came over. So when hesaww saw himasws, hesaww wept (and) said: ‘(Come) to mesaww! (Come) to mesaww, O mysaww sonasws!, and seated himasws upon hissaww left thigh.

ة و أجلسها بين يديه ا رآها بكى ثم قال إلي إلي يا بني ثم أقبلت فاطمة ع فلم

Then (Syeda) Fatimaasws came over. So when hesaww saw herasws, hesaww wept, then said: ‘(Come) to mesaww! (Come) to mesaww, O mysaww daughterasws!, and sat herasws in front of himsaww.

ا رآه بكى ثم قال إلي إلي يا أخي فما زال يدنيه حت ى أجلسه إلى جنبه اليمن ثم أقبل أمير المؤمنين ع فلم

Then Amir Al-Momineenasws came over. So when hesaww saw himasws, hesaww wept, then said, ‘(Come) to mesaww! (Come) to mesaww, O mysaww brotherasws!, and hesaww did not cease to bring himasws closer until hesaww sat himasws by hissaww right side.

So hissaww companions said to himsaww, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Yousaww did not see any one of themasws except yousaww wept, or isn’t there in themasws what would cheer yousaww by seeing it?’ Hesaww said: ‘By the Oneazwj Who Sent mesaww with the Prophet-hood, and Chose mesaww over the entirety of the Created beings, Isaww and themasws are the most prestigious of the creatures to Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic, and there isn’t a person upon the surface of the earth who is more beloved to mesaww than themasws.

As for Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, so heasws is mysaww brother, and mysaww compassion and the Master of the Command after mesaww, and the bearer of mysaww flag in the world and

the Hereafter, and custodian of mysaww Fountain, and mysaww intercession, and heasws is the Master of every Muslim and Imamasws of every Momin, and guide of every pious one, and heasws is mysaww successor, and mysaww Caliph upon mysaww family members, and mysaww community, during mysaww lifetime and after mysaww passing away.

The one who loves himasws loves mesaww, and hisasws hater is mysaww hater, and by hisasws Wilayah mysaww community would receive Mercy, and by hisasws enmity the adversary of hisasws came to be Accursed, and Iasws wept when heasws came over because Isaww remembered the treachery of the community with himasws after mesaww to the extent that heasws would be moved from mysaww seat although Allahazwj has Made it to be for himasws after meas. Then the matter would not cease to be such with himasws until heasws would be struck upon hisasws forehead from which hisasws beard would be dyed during the most superior of the months, [2:185] The Month of Ramazan is that in which the Quran was Revealed, a Guidance for the people and clear Proofs from the Guidance and the Criterion.

And as for mysaww daughterasws, so sheasws is the chieftess of the women of the worlds, from the former ones and the latter ones, and sheasws is a part from mesaww, and sheasws is the light of mysaww eyes, and sheasws is the fruit of mysaww heart, and sheasws is mysaww soul which is between mysaww two sides, and sheasws is ‘ ة .the human Hourie ’الحوراء النسي

Whenever sheasws stands in her Prayer Niche in front of herasws Lordazwj, Majestic is Hisazwj Majesty, herasws light blossoms to the Angels of the sky just as the light of the stars blossom for the inhabitants of the earth, and Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Says to Hisazwj Angels: “O Myazwj Angels! Look at Myazwj maid Fatimaasws, chieftess of the women, standing in front of Meazwj, trembling during herasws Obligation from fearing Meazwj, and sheasws has faced upon Myazwj worship. Iazwj have already Secured herasws Shias from the Fire”.

And Isaww, when Isaww saw herasws, Isaww remembered what would be done against herasws after mesaww. It is as if Isaww am with herasws and the disgraced one has entered herasws house and violated herasws sanctity, and usurped herasws rights, and prevented herasws

inheritance, and martyred herasws child, and sheasws is calling out: ‘O Muhammadsaww!’ and sheasws is not being answered, and sheasws is seeking help but sheasws is not being helped.

Thus, sheasws will not cease to be grieving after mesaww, distressed. Sheasws would remember the interruption of the Revelation from herasws house at times, and sheasws would remember mysaww separation at other times, and sheasws would feel lonely when the night falls due to missing mysaww voice which sheasws used to hear from mesaww when sheasws holds a vigil with the Quran. Then sheasws would see herselfasws as being humiliated and in the days of herasws fathersaww sheasws used to be honoured.

تعالى ذكره بالملئكة فنادتها بما نادت به مريم بنت عمر رك و فعند ذلك يؤنسها للا اصطفاك و طه ان فتقول يا فاطمة إن للااكعين يا فاطمة ا نساء العالمين اصطفاك على قنتي لربك و اسجدي و اركعي مع الر

Thus, during that, Allahazwj, Exalted is Hisazwj Mention, would Comfort herasws with the Angel, so it would call out to herasws with what it had called out to Maryam Bint Imranas, and it would be saying: ‘O Fatimaasws! [3:42] Allah has Chosen you and Purified you and Chosen you above the women of of the worlds. O Fatimaasws! [3:43] Be obedient to your Lord and bow down with those who bow.

ضها و تؤنسها في علتها فتقول عند ذلك ثم يبتدئ بها الوجع فتمرض فيبعث عز و جل إليها مريم بنت عمران تمر يا رب للا عز و جل نيا فألحقني بأبي فيلحقها للا مت بأهل الد ل من تلحقني من أهل بيتي إني سئمت الحياة و تبر بي فتكون أو

Then the pain would begin with herasws and sheasws would fall ill, and Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would Send Maryamas Bint Imranas to herasws during herasws illness and comfort herasws during her illness. So sheasws would be saying during that: ‘O Lordazwj! Iasws tired of the life and fed up with the people of the world, therefore join measws with mysaww fatherasws!’ So Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would join herasws with mesaww, and sheasws would happen to be the first one to meet mesaww from the Peopleasws of mysaww Household.

ظلمها و عاقب من غصبها و أذل من أذلها فتقدم علي محزونة مكروبة مغمومة مغصوبة مقتولة فأقول عند ذلك اللهم العن من دها فتقول الملئكة عند ذلك آمين و خلد في نارك من ضرب جنبيها حتى ألقت ول

Then Aliasws would proceed to mesaww, grieving, distressed, gloomy, usurped, murdered, and Isaww would be saying during that: ‘O Allahazwj! Curse the one who oppressed herasws and disgrace the one who humiliated herasws, and Make him to abide eternally in Yourazwj Fire, the one who struck herasws side to the extent that herasws child was martyred!’ So the Angels would be saying during that: ‘Ameen!’

And as for Al-Hassanasws, so heasws is mysaww son and mysaww child, and is from mesaww, and delight of mysaww eyes, and the illumination of mysaww heart, and fruit of mysaww heart, and heasws is the chief of the youths of the inhabitants of the Paradise, and a Divine Authority of Allahazwj upon the community. Hisasws orders are mysaww orders and hisasws words are mysaww words. The one who obeys himasws so he is from mesaww, and the one who disobeys himasws, so he isn’t from mesaww.

ل بعدي فل يزال المر به حتى رت ما يجري عليه من الذ ا نظرت إليه تذك م ظلما و عدوانا فعند ذلك تبكي و إني لم يقتل بالسداد لموته و يبكيه ك بع الش ماء و الحيتان في جوف الماء ل شي الملئكة و الس ير في جو الس ء حتى الط

And Isaww, when Isaww looked at himasws, Isaww remembered what would be occurring upon him from the humiliation after mesaww. Hisasws matter would not cease to be such with himasws until heasws is murdered with the poison unjustly, aggressively. So, during that the Angels and the seven skies would cry due to the difficulty of hisasws death, and there would cry for him everything, to the extent of the birds in the atmosphere of the sky, and the fishes in the middle of the water.

عه ثبتت قدمه على القلوب و من زاره في بقيفمن بكاه لم يعم عينه يوم تعمى العيون و من حزن عليه لم يحزن قلبه يوم تحزن راط يوم تزل فيه القدام الص

So the one who cries for himasws, his eye would not be blinded on the Day in which the eyes would be blinded, and the one who grieves upon himasws, his heart would not be grieving on the Day the hearts would grieve, and the one who visits himasws in hisasws spot (grave), his feet would be affirmed upon the Bridge on the Day the feet would be wavering.

And as for Al-Husaynasws, so heasws is from mesaww, and heasws is mysaww sonasws, and my child, and the best of the creatures after hisasws father and hisasws brotherasws, and heasws is the Imamasws of the Muslims, and Master of the Momineen, and the Caliph of the Lordazwj of the worlds, and the helper of the help-seekers, and a shelter of the shelter-seekers, a Divine Authority of Allahazwj upon Hisazwj creatures in their entirety, and this is the chief of the youths of the inhabitants of the Paradise, and the door of salvation of the community. Hisasws orders are mysaww orders, and being obedient to himasws is being obedient to mesaww. The one who obeys himasws, so he is from mesaww, and the one who disobeys himasws, so he isn’t from mesaww.

mysaww dream, and Isaww instruct himasws with the departure from the house of mysaww chamber and give himasws the glad tidings of the martyrdom.

أولئك من صابة من المسلمين فيرتحل عنها إلى أرض مقتله و موضع مصرعه أرض كرب و بلء و قيل و فناء ينصره ع تي يوم القيامة سادات شهداء أم

So heasws departs from it to the land of hisasws killing, and the place of hisasws demise. A land of distress and affliction (Karb wa Bala – Karbala), and gossip, and ruination. A group from the Muslims would help himasws, they would be the chiefs of the martyrs of mysaww community on the Day of Judgment.

كأني أنظر إليه و قد رمي بسهم فخر صريعا ثم يذبح كما يذبح الكبش مظلوما

It is as if Isaww am looking at himasws, and heasws has been hit by an arrow, and hesaww has fallen quickly. Then heasws is slaughtered just as the ram is slaughtered, oppressed’.

جيج ثم قال ع اللهم إني ص و بكى من حوله و ارتفع أصواتهم بالض بيتي بعدي و أشكو إليك ما يلقى أهل ثم بكى رسول للا دخل منزله.

Then Rasool-Allahsaww wept, and the ones around himsaww wept and their voices were raised with the commotion. Then hesaww said: ‘O Allahazwj! Isaww complain to Youazwj of what the Peopleasws of mysaww Household would be facing after mesaww!’ And hesaww entered hissaww house’.6

]إخبار النبي من دخل دعوته كرها يخالف أهل بيته من بعده و يحاربهم.[

The news of the Prophetsaww: ‘The one who enters hissaww call (to Al-

Islam) unwillingly would be opposing the Peopleasws of hissaww

Household from after himsaww and fighting war against themasws.

لم ثنا درست عن عجلن عن عمر بن عبد الس قال: حد

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Dorost, from Ajlan, from Umar Bin Abdul Salam,

ن أمر بالقتال إال أع عن نبيا قط من أولي المر مم ع قال: ما بعث للا حتى يدخل الناس في دينه طوعا و أبي عبد للا ه للا زبي وثب الذين دخلوا في دينه بي يبعث بعد كرها فإذا مات الن كرها على الذين دخلوا طوعا فقتلوهم و استذلوهم حتى إن كان الن

From Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘Allahazwj did not Send a Prophetas at all from the Masters of the Command, from the ones who were Commanded with the fighting, except Allahazwj Strengthened himas until the people entered into hisas Religion willingly as well as unwillingly. So when the Prophetas died, those who had entered into hisas Religion unwillingly leapt (attacked) upon those who had entered it willingly, and they killed them and humiliated them to the extent that when the following (new) Prophetas

was Sent after the (earlier ones) Prophetas, heas could not find anyone who would ratify himas or believe in himas.

د ص و على أهل بيته و لكن للا ه ال نبي بعد محم ة غير أن باعث مني و أشار بيده إلى صدره من يرد و كذلك فعلت هذه الم صالمر الذ ي جاء به رسول للا

And like that is how this community did apart from that there is no Prophetas after Muhammadsaww, and (did the same - martyred) the Peopleasws of hissaww Household. But Allahazwj would be Sending from measws’ – and heasws indicated to hisasws own chest – ‘oneasws who will return the matter to which Rasool-Allahsaww came with’.7

ص إلى أبي برزة السلمي فقال له و أنا أسمعه يا أبا برزة إن رب العالمين عهد إلي في علي بن أبي قال بعثني رسول للا ان و إمام أوليائي و نور جميع من أطاعني طالب ع عهدا فقال علي راية الهدى و منار اليم

He said, ‘Rasool-Allahsaww sent me to get Barzat Al-Aslamy, and said to him, and I was listening: ‘O Abu Barzat! The Lordazwj of the worlds Covenanted to mesaww with regards to Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws with a Covenant, so Heazwj Said: “Aliasws is the Flag of Guidance, and the Minaret of Eman, and the Imamasws of Myazwj friends, and Light for the entire ones who obey Meazwj!”

لقيامة على حوضي و صاحب لوائي و معيني غدا في القيامة على مفاتيح خزائن يا أبا برزة علي بن أبي طالب أميني في اة ربي. جن

O Abu Barzat! Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws would be mysaww trustworthy oneasws during the Day of Judgment at mysaww Fountain, and the bearer of mysaww flag, and mysaww assistant tomorrow in the Day of Judgment upon the keys of the treasures of the Paradise of mysaww Lordazwj’’.8

]ال يجوز الصراط إال من عنده صك بوالية علي عليه السالم.[

None shall cross the Bridge except the one with whom would be a

deed of the Wilayah of Aliasws.

ص ه ع قال: قال رسول للا د عن أبيه عن جد ثنا مالك بن أنس عن جعفر بن محم راط : إذا كان يوم القيامة و نص حد ب الصم فل يجوزها و يقطعها إال من كان معه جواز بوالية علي بن أبي ط الب ع.على ظهراني جهن

It was narrated to us by Malik Bin Anas, from Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws grandfatherasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘When it will be the Day of Judgment and the Bridge is established upon Hell, so none would (be able to) cross it and travel it except the one who would have a permit with him of the Wilayah of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’’.9

د ع ادق جعفر بن محم ا إن كان من عن أبي المقدام قال: قال الص : نزلت هاتان اليتان في أهل واليتنا و أهل عداوتنا فأمبين فروح و ريحان ة نعيم قبره في المقر الين فنزل من حميم و جن بين الض ا إن كان من المكذ يعني في يعني في الخرة و أم

يعني في الخرة. و تصلية جحيم قبره

From Abu Al-Miqdam who said, ‘Al-Sadiq Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws said: ‘These two Verses were Revealed regarding the people (having) ourasws Wilayah and the people (having) ourasws enmity. [56:88] Then if he is one of proximity [56:89] Then cool breeze and aroma in his grave and a Garden of Bliss in the Hereafter. [56:92] And if he is one of the beliers and the strayers, [56:93] He shall descend from the boiling water Meaning in his grave [56:94] And arrive in the Blazing Fire in the Hereafter’’.10

د ب محم ثنا أبو عبد للا ع قال: حقوق شيعتنا علينا أوجب من ح قال: حد قوقنا عليهم ن خالد البرقي عن أبي قتادة عن أبي عبد للاهم يصابون فينا و ال نصاب قيل له و كيف ذلك يا ابن قال لن فيهم.رسول للا

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abu Abdullah Muhammad Bin Khalid Al Barqy, from Abu Qatada,

(It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullahasws having said: ‘The rights of ourasws Shias upon usasws are more Obligatory than ourasws rights upon them’. It was said to himasws, ‘And how can that be so, O sonasws of Rasool-Allahsaww?’ Heasws said: ‘Because they are (enduring) difficulties regarding usasws and weasws are not (enduring) difficulties regarding them’’.11

و ال حساب عليه.عن أبي جعفر ع قال: من د لقي للا مكفوفا محتسبا مواليا لل محم لقي للا

From Abu Ja’farasws having said: ‘The one who meets Allahazwj blind (having turned a blind eye to the Prohibitions), anticipating (Rewards), being in the Wilayah of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, would meet Allahazwj, there being no Reckoning upon him’’.12

ص قال: إن فيل أن رسول للا ضا و عن أبي الط جاة و القربة و النصر و الر وح و الفوز و الن احة و الر ضا و الر الفتح و الرهم ته من بعده لن ي ه و ائتم به و بذر لمن أحب عليا و توال ة من للا ه مني يأتباع المحب . فمن تبعني فإن

From Abu Al-Tafeyl,

‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘The victory, and the (Divine) pleasure, and the comfort and the rest (in the Paradise), and the success, and the salvation, and the proximity, and the help, and the pleasure, and the Love from Allahazwj is for the one who loves Aliasws and befriends himasws, and accepts himasws as an Imamasws and hisasws descendants from after himasws, because theyasws are mysaww followers, and the one who follows mesaww, so he is from mesaww’’.13

From Anas Bin Malik who said,

ص د فأجيب : إذا كان يوم القيامة نصب لي منبر طوله ثلثون ميل ثم ينادي قال رسول للا مناد من بطنان العرش يا محم فيقال لي ارق فأكون في أعله

‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘When it will be the Day of Judgment, a Pulpit would be established for mesaww, the length of it would be thirty miles. Then a Caller would Call out from the interior of the Throne: “O Muhammadsaww!” So Isaww would answer, and he would say to mesaww: “Step up!” So Isaww would go to its top.

انية أين علي بن أبي طالب فيكون دوني بمرقاة فتعلم جميع الخلئق ب د ثم ينادي الث د المرسلين و أن عليا سي دا سي أن محم الوصيين

Then he would Call out secondly: “Where is Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws?” So heasws would come to be below mesaww by a step. Thus, the entirety of the creatures would come to know that Muhammadsaww is the chief of the Mursilsas, and that Aliasws is the chief of the successorsas’.

فمن يبغض عليا بعد هذا فقال يا أخا النصار قال أنس فقام إلي ال يبغضه من قريش إال ه رجل من النصار فقال يا رسول للا. [ و ال من النصار إال يهودي و ال من العرب إال دعي سفحي ]سفاحي و ال من سائر الناس إال شقي

Anas said, ‘A man from the Helpers (Ansaar) stood up to himsaww and he said, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! So who would be hating Aliasws after this?’ Hesaww said: ‘O brother (from the) Ansaar! None from the Qureysh would hate himasws except for a foolish one, nor from the Helpers except for a Jew, nor from the Arabs except for a bastard, nor from the rest of the people except for a wretch’’.14

ثنا عمر بن هشام عن مسلم عن خيثمة قال قال: حد

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Umar Bin Hisham, from Muslim, from Khaysama who said,

هار ثم ق سمعت سعدا يقول ص يوم غدير خم نصف الن ال أ تعلمون أني: إن ابن أبي طالب أعطي خصاال ثلثا قام رسول للا من كنت مواله فعلي مواله ؟ قالوا اللهم نعم قال ص بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم أولى

‘I heard Sa’ad saying, ‘The sonasws of Abu Talibas has been given three characteristics. Rasool-Allahsaww stood on the Day of Ghadeer Khumm in the middle of the day, then said: ‘Are you knowing that Isaww am closer with the Momineen than their own selves?’ They said, ‘Yes’. Hesaww said: ‘The one whose Master Isaww was, so Aliasws is his Master’.

ار ثم أصبحنا نجثو على ركب اية أفضلكم ليس بفر تيه فدعا عليا قيل رمد في عينه فأتي به و دعا أن و قال يوم خيبر لعطين الر يفتح على يده يومئذ خيبر

And hesaww said on the Day of Khyber: ‘Isaww shall give the flag to the most superior of you all, who isn’t with the fleeing’. Then, in the morning, we were kneeling to hissaww knees (in anticipation of receiving the flag), but, hesaww called Aliasws, and it was said,

‘There is pain in hisasws eyes’. So they came with himasws and hesaww supplicated that there should be victory of Khyber upon hisasws hands on that day.

أسكنه. و قال ما أسكنته إن للا ثم منزله في مسجد رسول للا

Then hisasws house being in the Masjid of Rasool-Allahsaww, and hesaww said: ‘Isaww did not settle himasws (therein), it was Allahazwj Who Settled himasws’’.15

]لما غزا المسلمون بالد الروم وجدوا في كنائسهم بيتا من الشعر ]أ يرجو أمة قتلت حسينا[.[

When the Muslims embarked upon the military expedition to the city

of Rome, they found in their churches a couplet from the poems, ‘Are

they (still) hoping, the community which killed Husaynasws?’

ثنا ابن اليمان عن إمام لبني سليم عن أشياخ له قالوا: قال: حد

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Ibn al Ayman, from the prayer leader of the Clan of Suleym, from the sheykhs of his who said,

وم فوجدنا في كنيسة من كنائسها مكتوبا غزونا بلد الر

أ يرجو معشر قتلوا حسينا

ه يوم الحساب شفاعة جد

‘We went on a military expedition of Rome and we found in a church from their churches, inscribed: ‘Are you hoping, O group who killed Husaynasws, for the intercession of hisasws grandfathersaww on the Day of Reckoning?’.

كم بثلثمائة عام. وم متى كتب هذا في كنيستكم؟ قالوا قبل أن يبعث نبي فقلنا للر

We said to the Romans, ‘When was this inscribed in your church?’ They said, ‘Before the Prophet-hood of your Prophetsaww by three hundred years’’.16

From Ibn Masoud who said, ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said to me: ‘When there was an Ascension with mesaww to the sky, an Angel came to mesaww and said to me: ‘O Muhammadsaww! Ask the ones who were Sent (as Prophetsas) before yousaww’. Isaww said: ‘O group of the people and the Prophetsas! Upon what (stipulation) did Allahazwj Send you all before mesaww?’ They said, ‘Upon (the stipulation) of yoursaww Wilayah, O Muhammadsaww, and the Wilayah of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws’’.17

From Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, may Allahazwj

be Pleased with him, said,

‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘When it will be the Day of Judgment, Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would Command mesaww and Jibraeelas, so we would pause upon the Bridge and no one would be permitted to cross except by a permit from Aliasws’’.18

]إنكار أمير المؤمنين على من قال له أباك في النار.[

The denial of Amir Al-Momineenasws upon the one who said to himasws,

‘Yourasws fatheras would be in the Fire’.

ل بن عمر د بن سنان عن المفض ثنا محم قال: حد

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Al Mufazzal Bin Umar,

حبة و الن عن آبائه عن أمير المؤمنين ع قال: كان ذات يوم جالسا بالر اس حوله مجتمعون فقام إليه رجل فقال عن أبي عبد للا ك بالمكان الذي أنزلك للا ار يا أمير المؤمنين إن ب بالن به و أبوك يعذ

From Abu Abdullahasws, from hisasws forefathersasws, from Amir Al-Momineenasws having said: ‘It was so that one day heasws was seated at Al-Rahba, and the people were gathered around himasws, and a man stood up to himasws and he said, ‘O Amir Al-Momineenasws! You are at the position which Allahazwj has Positioned youasws with, and yourasws fatheras would be Punished by the Fire?’

دا بالحق نبيا لو فاك و الذي بعث محم تعالى فيهم أبي فقال مه فض للا شفع أبي في كل مذنب على وجه الرض لشفعه للاار؟ ار و ابنه قسيم الن ب بالن يعذ

So heasws said: ‘Muh! May Allahazwj Break your mouth! By the Oneazwj Whom Sent Muhammadsaww with the Truth as a Prophetsaww! If myasws fatherasws was to intercede regarding every sinner upon the face of the earth, Allahazwj the Exalted would Accept hisasws intercession regarding them. Would myasws fatheras be Punished by the Fire and hisasws sonasws is the distributor of the Fire?’

د دا بالحق إن نور أبي طالب يوم القيامة ليطفئ نور محم و نوري و نور فاطمة و نور الحسن و ثم قال و الذي بعث محم عز و جل من قبل خلق آدم بألفي عام.الحسين و من ولده من ة لن نوره من نورنا الذي خلقه للا الئم

Then heasws said: ‘By the Oneazwj Who Sent Muhammadsaww with the Truth! The Light of Abu Talibasws on the Day of Judgment, would extinguish (supersede) the Light of Muhammadsaww, and myasws Light, and the Light of (Syeda) Fatimaasws, and the Light of Al-Hassanasws and Al-Husaynasws and of the ones from hisasws sons from the Imamsasws,

because hisas Light is from ourasws Light which Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Created from before the creation of Adamas, by two thousand years’’.19

From Abu Ja’far Muhammad Bin Mansour who said, ‘It was narrated to me by Abu Tahir who said, ‘It was narrated to us by my father, from his father,

‘Aliasws gathered hisasws (male) family members and they were eleven – Al-Hassanasws Bin Aliasws, and Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws, and Muhammad son of Aliasws the elder, and Umar son of Aliasws, and Muhammad son of Aliasws the younger, and Al-Abbas Bin Aliasws, and Abdullah son of Aliasws, and Ja’far son of Aliasws, and Usman son of Aliasws, and Abdullah son of Aliasws, and Abu Bakr son of Aliasws.

ا اجتمعوا عنده قال يا بني كبارا و صغارا ال فلم ين و لم يعطوا من للا تكونوا كأشباه الغواة و الجفاة الذين لم يتفقهوا في الدد من خليفة مستخلف عفريت مترف يقتل اليقين كبيض بيض ]هيض خلفي و خلف الخلف [ في أدحي ويح الفراخ آل محم

So when they had gathered in hisasws presence, heasws said: ‘O myasws sons, elder and younger! Do not become like the deceivers and the deserters, those who are not pondering in the Religion and have not been Given the certainty from Allahazwj like the whiteness of an egg inside which is the yellowness of the chick (Its state being uncertain). The Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww are from the Caliphs made as Caliphs. The audacious devil would kill mysaww replacement, and the replacement of the replacement (i.e., Imamasws after the Imamasws).

ساالت و تمام الكلمات و تصديق العدات و ليتمن لقد علمت بتبليغ الر . عليكم نعمته أهل البيت ثم قال و للا

Then heasws said: ‘By Allahazwj! Iasws have taught the delivery of the Messages, and complete words, and the ratification of the Ahadeeth, and Iasws am wishing upon you all Hisazwj Bounties, Peopleasws of the Household’’.20

اد عن المنقري عن ابن عباس قال: ثنا عن حم حد

It was narrated to us from Hammad, from Al Minqary, from Ibn Abbas, said,

اس بعد ما حجب بصره بقوم من قريش و هم يسبون عليا فقال ل اس فقال لهم من مر ابن عب ه فوقف ابن عب ني إليهم فرد قائده رد فقد يا ابن عباس من سب للا ؟ فقالوا سبحان للا دا فقد كفر فقال من الذي سب عليا؟ الذي سب للا أشرك فقال فالذي سب محم

Ibn Abbas, after his sight had been veiled (lost), passed by a group of Quryesh and they were reviling Aliasws. So he said to his guide, ‘Return me to them’. So he returned him, and Ibn Abbas paused and said to them: ‘Who was the one insulting Allahazwj?’ They said, ‘Glory be to Allahazwj, O Ibn Abbas! The one who reviles Allahazwj has associated’. And he said, ‘And the one who reviles Muhammadsaww so he has disbelieved’. So he said, ‘Who was the one who reviled Aliasws?’ They said, ‘As for this, so it has happened’.

ص يقول من سب عليا فقد سب أني سمعت رسول للا ثم ولى ذاهبا فقال فقال ابن عباس أشهد للا ني و من سبني فقد سب للا لقائده ما سمعتهم يقولون؟ قال لم يقولوا شيئا فقال كيف رأيت وجوههم

Ibn Abbas said, ‘I testify to Allahazwj that I heard Rasool-Allahsaww saying: ‘The one who reviles Aliasws so he has reviled mesaww, and the one who reviles mesaww so he has reviled Allahazwj’. Then he turned and went away, and he said to his guide, ‘What did you hear them saying?’ He said, ‘They were not saying anything’. He said, ‘How did you see their faces to be?’

ة فقال نظروا إليك بأعين محمر

نظر التيوس إلى شفار الجازر

He said (in prose), ‘They looked at you with reddened eyes, the look of the goats to the butcher’s knife.

ي فقال ابن عباس زدني فداك أبي و أم

Ibn Abbas said, ‘Increase for me, may my father and my mother be sacrificed for you’.

خزر الحواجب ناكسي أذقانهم فقال

ليل إلى الغريم القاهر نظر الذ

So he said (in prose), ‘Frowning of the eyebrows, disgraced of their necks, the look of the one humiliated to the compelling creditor’.

ي فقال زدني فداك أبي و أم

He said, ‘Increase for me, may my father and my mother be sacrificed for you’.

أحياؤهم خزي على أمواتهم فقال

تون فضيحة للغابر و المي

So he said (in prose), ‘Their lives are more shameful over their deaths, and they are dying upon an ancient scandal’’.21

ه ال نبي بعدي بمنزلة هارون من موسى إال أن

‘I heard Rasool-Allahsaww saying: ‘For Aliasws there are three (things)’, if (even) one of these was for me it would have been more beloved to me than red camels’. I heard Rasool-Allahsaww saying to Aliasws, and hesaww had left himasws behind from one of hissaww military expeditions. So heasws said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Yousaww are leaving measws behind with the women and the children?’ So Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Are youasws not pleased that youasws happen to be from mesaww at the status of Harounsaww from Musasaww except that there would be no Prophetas after mesaww?’

و ر ه للا و رسوله و يحب اية رجل يحب للا سوله فتطاولنا لها قال ادعوا لي عليا فأتى و سمعته يقول يوم خيبر لعطين الرا ية ففتح عينه علي أرمد فبصق في عينيه و دفع إليه الر

And I heard himsaww saying on the Day of Khyber: ‘Isaww shall be giving the flag to a man who loves Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww, and Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww love himasws’. So we extended our necks for it. Hesaww said: ‘Call Aliasws for me’. So Aliasws came with sore eyes, and hesaww applied spittle in hisasws eyes and handed over the flag to himasws. So hisasws eyes opened up.

ا نزلت هذه الية ندع أبناءنا و أبناءكم ص عليا و فاطمة و حسنا و حسينا و قال اللهم هؤالء أهلي.دعا رسول و لم للا

And when this Verse was Revealed [3:61] Come, let us call our sons and your sons and our women and your women (for the Imprecation), Rasool-Allahsaww called Aliasws, and (Syeda) Fatimaasws, and Hassanasws, and Husaynasws and said: ‘O Allahazwj! Theyasws are mysaww family’’.22

اق عن أبيه عن مثنى عن ابن مسعود قال: ليلة الجن قال لي رسو ز ثنا عبد الر ص يا ابن مسعود نعيت إلي نفسي قال: حد ل للا قال من؟ قلت أبا بكر فأعرض عني فقلت استخلف يا رسول للا

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Abdul Razzaq, from his father, from Musna, from Ibn Masoud who said, ‘On the night of the Jinn ( ليلة الجن), Rasool-Allahsaww said to me: ‘O Ibn Masoud! Isaww am giving the news of mysaww passing away, myselfsaww’. So I said, ‘Chose a Caliph O Rasool-Allahsaww!’ Hesaww said: ‘Who?’ I said, ‘Abu Bakr’. Hesaww turned away from me.

عني ثم قال يا ابن مسعود نعيت إلي نفسي قلت استخلف قال من قلت عمر فأعرض

Then hesaww said: ‘O Ibn Masoud! Isaww am giving the news of mysaww passing away, myselfsaww’. I said, ‘Chose a Caliph O Rasool-Allahsaww!’. Hesaww said: ‘Who?’ I said, ‘Umar’. Hesaww turned away from me.

Then hesaww said: ‘O Ibn Masoud! Isaww am giving the news of mysaww passing away, myselfsaww’. I said, ‘Chose a Caliph O Rasool-Allahsaww!’ Hesaww said: ‘Who?’ I said, ‘Aliasws’. Hesaww said: ‘But, if they (people) were to obey himasws, they would enter the Paradise altogether bowing’’.23

ة عن أنس بن مالك قال: قال النبي ص تي سبعون ألفا ال حساب عليهم ثم التفت إلى علي بن أبي طالب ع : يدخلون الجن من أم قال شيعتك و أنت إمامهم.

From Anas Bin Malik who said, ‘The Prophetsaww said: ‘There would be entering the Paradise, seventy thousand from mysaww community, without there being any Reckoning upon them’. Then hesaww turned towards Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, (and) hesaww said: ‘(They would be) yourasws Shias, and youasws would be their Imamasws’’.24

ص أصحابه جاء علي بن أبي طالب تدمع عيناه فقال ما لي لم تواخ بيني و بي عن ابن عمر قال: حين آخى ن أحد رسول للانيا و الخرة. من إخواني قال أنت أخي في الد

From Ibn Umar who said,

‘When Rasool-Allahsaww established brotherhood (among) hissaww companions, Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws came with tears in hisasws eyes. So heasws said: ‘What is the matter with measws that yousaww are not establishing brotherhood between measws and anyone from myasws brethren?’ Hesaww said: ‘Youasws are mysaww brother in the world and the Hereafter’’.25

]كان أمير المؤمنين يقول ال يقتلني معاوية و إنما هو رجل من مراد.[

Amir Al-Momineenasws was saying: ‘Muawiya would not be killing

measws. But rather it would be a man from (the Clan of) Murad’.

قاشي عن أنس بن مالك قال: اد عن يزيد الر ثنا الهيثم بن حم قال: حد

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Al Haysam Bin Hammad, from Yazeed Al Raqashy, from Anas Bin Malik who said,

ريق ألقوا إلي الحلس و ال ص قافلين من تبوك فقال في بعض الط ص رجعنا مع رسول للا قتاب ففعلوا فصعد رسول للا و أثنى عليه بما هو أهله فخطب فحمد للا

‘We returned with Rasool-Allahsaww from (the military expedition of) Tabuk, as two caravans, and hesaww said in one of the roads: ‘Cast (pile up) for mesaww the saddles and the rocks’, and they did. So Rasool-Allahsaww ascended and addressed, and hesaww Praised Allahazwj and Lauded upon Himazwj with what Heazwj is Rightful of.

Then hesaww said: ‘Group of people! What is the matter Isaww see you all, when there is a mention of the Progeny of Ibrahimas, your faces a jubilant, and when there is a mention of the Progenyasws of Muhammadsaww, it is as if there is a gouging in your faces (like) the seed of the pomegranate? By the Oneazwj Who Sent mesaww as a Prophetsaww! If one of you were to come on the Day of Judgment with the deeds like the mountains and did not live with the Wilayah of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws, Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would Fling him into the Fire’’.26

عن الحرث بن مالك قال:

From Al Hars Bin Malik who said,

ة فلقيت سعد بن مالك فقلت سمعت لعلي منقبة قال قد شهدت له أربعا ل ر ن تكون لي إحداهن أحب أتيت مك نيا أعم إلي من الد فيها عمر نوح

‘I went to Makkah and I met Sa’ad Bin Malik, and I said, ‘Have you heard of a commendable achievement for Aliasws?’ He said, ‘I have witnessed four for himasws, even if one of these would happen to be for me, it would be more beloved to me than the world and the life-span in it of the life-span of Noahas.

ص بعث أبا بكر ببراءة إلى مشركي قريش فسار بها يوما و ليلة ثم قال بع أب إن رسول للا ا بكر فبلغها و رد أبا بكر لعلي ات أ نزل في شي ه ال يبلغ إال أنا و رجل مني أو قال من أهل بيتي فقال يا رسول للا ء فقال ال إال خير إال أن

Rasool-Allahsaww sent Abu Bakr with the (deed of) disavowment to the Polytheists of Qureysh, and a day and a night went by with it. Then hesaww said to Aliasws: ‘Pursue Abu Bakr and (youasws) deliver it, and return Abu Bakr’. So heasws said: ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Has anything been Revealed regarding measws?’ Hesaww said: ‘No, except for good, except that none should deliver it except Isaww and a man from mesaww’ – or said: ‘From mysaww family’.

ص في المسجد فنودي فينا أال ليخرج من في ا مع رسول للا سول و آل علي فخرجنا نجر قلعنا المسجد قال فكن إال آل الر أخرجت أعمامك و أصحابك و أ فقال يا رسول للا ا أصبحنا أتى العباس رسول للا فلم ص ما سكنت هذا الغلم فقال رسول للا

هو أمر به أمرت بإخراجكم و ال أسكنت هذا الغلم إن للا

He (the narrator) said, ‘We were with Rasool-Allahsaww in the Masjid, and there was a call regarding us: ‘Indeed! Let the ones in the Masjid exit except for the familyasws of the Rasoolsaww and the family of Aliasws!’ So we went out dragging our feet. And when it was morning, Al-Abbas Came over to Rasool-Allahsaww and he said, ‘O Rasool-Allahsaww! Yousaww have exited yoursaww uncles and yourasws companions, and youasws have settled this boy?’ Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Isaww did not order for your exit nor did Isaww settle this boy (Aliasws in the Masjid), it was Allahazwj, Heazwj Commanded with it’.

ص بعث ع الثة أن رسول للا اية رجل و الث ص لعطين الر مر و سعدا إلى خيبر فخرج سعدا و رجع عمر فقال رسول للا و رسوله في ثناء كثير خشي أن أخطي بعضه فدعا بعلي و هو أرمد فجي افتح عينيك قال ال ء به يق يحب للا اد فقال رسول للا

اية ص ثم دلكها بإبهامه فأعطاه الر أستطيع فتفل فيها رسول للا

And the third is that Rasool-Allahsaww sent Umar and Sa’ad to Khyber. So Sa’d went out and Umar returned, and Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Isaww shall be giving the flag to a man who loves Allahazwj and Hisazwj Rasoolsaww’, among a lot of (other praises), (I the narrator am fearing I might err in some of it). So hesaww called for Aliasws and heasws had sore eyes. So they came with himasws being driven. Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Open yourasws eyes!’ Heasws said: ‘Iasws am not able to’. So Rasool-Allahsaww applied the spittle in them, then kneaded with hissaww thumb, and gave himasws the flag.

ابعة ها الناس أ لست أولى بالمؤمنين من أنفسهم؟ يوم غدير و الر ص فأبلغ ثم قال أي ات قالوا بلى خم قام رسول للا ثلث مربي يد ص من كنت مواله فعلي فقال ادن يا علي فدنا علي ع فرفع يده و رفع الن ه حتى نظرت بياض إبطيهما فقال رسول للا

And the fourth – On the Day of Ghadeer Khumm, Rasool-Allahsaww stood and delivered (a sermon), then said: ‘O you people! Am Isaww not closer with the Momineen than their own selves?’ – three times. They said, ‘Yes’. So hesaww said: ‘Come closer, O Aliasws!’. So Aliasws went nearer, and hesaww raised hisasws hand and the Prophetsaww raised hissaww own hand, to the extent that I looked at the whiteness of hissaww armpits, and Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘The one whose Master Isaww was, so Aliasws is his Master’ – three times.

And as for the fifth from hisasws commendable achievements is that Rasool-Allahsaww went on a military expedition upon a red she-camel of hissaww and left Aliasws behind. So the Qureysh begrudged upon it and they said, ‘But rather hesaww left himasws due to what would weigh himsaww down and dislike of hisasws company’. So Aliasws came over until heasws grabbed the rein of the she-camel and heasws said: ‘O Prophetsaww of Allahazwj! Iasws shall follow yousaww as Iasws have always followed youasws (before). The Qureysh are alleging that yousaww rather left measws behind due to myasws weighing yousaww down and yousaww are dislking myasws company’.

He (the narrator) said, ‘And Aliasws wept’. So Rasool-Allahsaww called out among the people, and they gathered, and hesaww said: ‘O you people! There is none from you except that for him there is a speciality’. Then hesaww said to Aliasws: ‘Are youasws not pleased that youasws happen to be from mesaww at the status of Harounas from Musaas,

except that there would not be a Prophetas after mesaww?’ Heasws said: ‘Iasws am pleased from Allahazwj and from Hisazwj Rasoolsaww’’.27

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Aliasws Bin Musa Al-Rezaasws saying: ‘It was narrated to measws by myasws fatherasws, from hisasws fatherasws, from hisasws grandfatherasws, from hisasws fatherasws Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws, from hisasws (grand) fatherasws Aliasws having said: ‘One day (Syeda) Fatimaasws said to measws: ‘Iasws am more beloved to Rasool-Allahsaww than youasws all’. So Iasws said: ‘No, but Iasws am more beloved’. And Al-Hassanasws said: ‘No, but Iasws am’. And Al-Husaynasws said: ‘No, but Iasws am the most beloved of youasws all to Rasool-Allahsaww’.

And Rasool-Allahsaww entered and hesaww said: ‘O daughterasws! What (discussion) are youasws in?’ So weasws informed himsaww. So hesaww grabbed Fatimaasws and hugged herasws and kissed herasws on the cheek, and hugged Aliasws to himsaww and kissed between hisasws eyes. Hesaww sat Al-Hassanasws upon hissaww right thigh and Al-Husaynasws upon hissaww left thigh, and kissed themasws both and said: ‘Youasws all are the closest with mesaww in the world and the Hereafter.

من واالكم و عادى من عاداكم أنتم مني و أنا منكم و الذي نفسي بيده ال يتو و عز و جل الى للا نيا إال كان للا االكم عبد في الدنيا و الخرة. ه في الد ولي

May Allahazwj Befriend the one who befriends youasws all, and be Inimical to the one who is inimical to youasws, and youasws are from mesaww and Isaww am from youasws. By the Oneazwj in Whose Hand is mysaww soul! A servant will not befriend youasws except that Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic would be Hisazwj Friend in the world and the Hereafter’’.28

himasws (for battle) to Syria, and that was after the tranquillity and the government. So that reached from Muawiya (to the people) that he (Muawiya) was using sums of monies to entice the people to go towards Aliasws for the battle, and he plotted a plot regarding that and he sent Amro Bin Hureys Al-Makhzoumy to Al-Kufa.

جل إلى عمرو بن حريث جلس فأنزله في مكان يقرب منه و كان أمير المؤمنين ع ال يرى المسح على الخفين و كان ي فقدم الرلة فيخلع الخفين اس فإذا في مسجد الكوفة العظم يفتي الناس و يقضي بينهم حتى تجب الص جلين و يصلي بالن ر الر و يطه

أراد أن ينصرف إلى أهله لبس خفه و انصرف

So the man proceeded to Amro Bin Hureys and he lodged him in a place near to him, and it was so that Amir Al-Momineenasws did not view the wiping upon the two socks (during Wudou as being correct), and heasws used to sit in the Grand Masjid of Al-Kufa issuing verdicts to the people and judge between them until the Salat was Obligated. So heasws would take off the two socks and clean the two legs and pray Salat (leading) the people. So when heasws would want to leave to go to hisasws family, heasws would wear hisasws socks and leave.

جل أن يرصد عليا ع فإذا خلع خفيه جعل في أحدهما ا كان معه ففعل ذلك و جعل الفعى أو فأجمع الر أفعى أو قال ثعبان مما أراد أمير المؤمنين أن يلبس خفه انقض عقاب فا عبان في أحد الخفين فلم جو ثم طرحه ختطف الخف و طار به في ال قال الث

فخرج الفعى فقتل

So he agreed with the man that he would ambush Aliasws, and when heasws takes off hisasws sock, he would made a snake to be in one of them’ – or said, ‘two snakes, from what was with him. So he did that and made the snake’ – or said, ‘two snakes in one of the two socks. So when Amir Al-Momineenasws intended to wear hisasws sock, an eagle swooped and snatched the sock and flew with it into the air. Then it dropped it and the snake came out, and it was killed.

جل الذي أرصد عليا ل غريب و قال فقال أمير المؤمنين ع للناس خذوا أبواب المسجد فأخذت البواب و نظروا فإذا رج هو الر بما صنع فاعترف أن معاوية بعثه لذلك إلى عمرو بن حريث

He (the narrator) said, ‘So Amir Al-Momineenasws said to the people: ‘Seize the doors of the Masjid!’. They took to the doors and they looked, and there was a man, a stranger, and he was the man who had ambushed Aliasws with what he did. And he acknowledged that Muawiya had sent him for that to Amro Bin Hureys.

حريث و ال تنالوه بسوء فانطلقوا فجاءوا به ترتعد فرائصه فأرادوا قتله فقال أمير قال فقال أمير المؤمنين ع جيئوا بعمرو بن جال أعسر أيسر ن مر المؤمنين ع دعوه فليس هو و ال معاوية بقاتلي و ال يقدران على ذلك إن قاتلي رجل م اد ضرب من الر

أصيفر ينظر بعيني شيطان و جعل أمير المؤمنين ع يصفه

He (the narrator) said, ‘So Amir Al-Momineenasws said: ‘Bring Amro Bin Hureys to measws and do not do anything bad to him’. So they went and came with him, and his whole body was trembling, and they wanted to kill him. But, Amir Al-Momineenasws said: ‘Leave him, for it isn’t him nor Muawiya who would be killing measws nor are they both able upon that. Myasws killer would be a man from (the Clan of) Murad. handed men, sinister, hump-backed, looking by the eyes of Satanla’, and Amir Al-Momineenasws went on to describe him.

ي ص إلي بذل بي الم يام عهد من الن هر الحرام ال بل في شهر الص و قد خاب من افترى ك قال يقتلني في الش

Heasws said: ‘He would be killing measws in the Sacred Month. But rather in the Month of Ramazan. The Ummy Prophetsaww Covenanted that to measws, and he has lost, the one who forged’.

ثم أطلق عن عمرو و أنشأ يقول

Then heasws freed Amro and prose saying: -

اني لتقتلني تلكم قريش تمن

ال ظفروا فل و ربك ما تروى و

خذا ا بقيت فإني لست مت إم

ين إذ غدروا أهل و ال شيعة في الد

قد بايعوني فما أوفوا ببيعتهم

يوما و مالوا بأهل الكفر إذ كفروا

رة و قلصوا لي عن حرب مشم

لم يلق أبو بكر و ال عمر ما

Those Qureysh are wishing to kill measws, but no, by your Lordazwj, they will neither be quenched nor would they succeed. But Iasws shall remain, and Iasws wouldn’t be seized. Welcome, and there are no adherents in the Religion when they are treacherous. They have pledged allegiance to measws, but they would not even be loyal between them for a day, and they would incline with the people of disbelief when they turn to disbelief. And they reduced me from war, tucked up, what neither beseemed Abu Bakr nor Umar.

تي لكم فإن هلكت فرهن ذم

بذات ودقين ال يعفو لها بشر

لثين خيل غير مخلقة عام الث

م عنها مر أو صفر إذا المحر

يأتيك عن أنباء ملحمة و سوف

يبيض من ذكرهم أنباءها الشعر

ة بالمرج جمعهم إذا التقى مر

تعلو قضاعة أو يشقى بها مضر

ته فسوف يبعث مهدي لسن

ين الذي طهروافينشر الوحي و الد

So if Iasws were to die, they would be joyful. Myasws conscience for you all is with that pounding, there being no excusing a human for it, thirty general horses, without harmony, when prohibited from these, the passing or not. And soon there would be coming to you the epic news whitening the hairs from the mention of the news. When they meet one assembled on the turf, elevating the judges or harming the wretched with it. So, soon the Mahdiasws would be Sent for Hisazwj Sunnah, and heasws would publicise the Revelation and the Religion which would cleanse’’.29

Al-Mahdiasws would be generous with the wealth and merciful with the

poor ones.

ال. عن ليث بن طاوس قال: المهدي جواد بالمال رحيم بالمساكين شديد على العم

From Lays Bin Tawoos who said, ‘Al-Mahdiasws would be generous with the wealth and merciful to the poor, harsh upon the office bearers’’.30

He said, ‘It was narrated to us by Yahya Bin Abdullah Bin Al Hassan, from his father,

And from Ja’farasws Bin Muhammadasws, from theirasws fathersasws, from theirasws grandfathersasws having said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘In Al-Firdows there is a spring sweeter than the honey, and softer than the butter, and colder than the ice, and more aromatic than the musk. Therein is clay which Allahazwj Created usasws from it, and from it Created ourasws Shias. Thus, the one who does not happen to be from that clay, so he isn’t from usasws nor from ourasws Shias, and it is the Covenant which Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Took the Wilayah of Aliasws Bin Abu Talibasws upon’.

هكذ قال عبيد فذكر د بن علي بن الحسين بن علي هذا الحديث فقال صدقك يحيى بن عبد للا ي ت لمحم ا أخبرني أبي عن جد عن النبي ص.

Ubeyd said, ‘So I mentioned this Hadeeth to Muhammadasws Bin Aliasws Bin Al-Husaynasws Bin Aliasws, and heasws said: ‘Yahya Bin Abdullah spoke the truth to you. Like this is what myasws fatherasws informed measws, from myasws grandfatherasws, from the Prophetsaww’’.31

د بن الف ثني محم فار عن منصور بن العباس قال: حد د بن الحسن الص ثنا محم ثني مسهر رجل قال: حد ضل الهمداني قال: حد من أصحابنا قال:

ه على القب ته و وضع خد ضا ع بقبر بعض من أهل بيته فنزل عن داب ر و هو يبكي و يقول إلهي بدت قدرتك مر أبو الحسن الرقدير على روك و الت روك و شبهوك بخلقك و لم تبد هيئته فجهلوك و قد غير ما قد

Abu Al-Hassan Al-Rezaasws passed by a grave of one of hisasws family members. So heasws descended from hisasws animal and placed hisasws cheek upon the grave, and heasws was weeping and saying: ‘Myasws God! Youazwj Manifested Yourazwj Power and did not Manifest the whole of it. So they (creature) were ignorant of Youazwj and Yourazwj Worth, and they evaluated Youazwj upon other than what was Yourazwj worth, and resembled Youazwj with Yourazwj creatures.

حديد وصفوك ليس كمثلك شي ن ثم لم يعرفوك و لم يعبدوك فأنا إلهي بريفم شبيه طلبوك و بالت ء يا إلهي و لن ء من الذين بالت يدركوك و ظاهر ما بهم من نعمتك دلهم عليك

Thus, from then, they did not recognise Youazwj and did not worship Youazwj. So Iasws, myasws Godazwj, disavow from those who are seeking Youazwj by the resemblance and are describing Youazwj. There is nothing like Youazwj. O myasws Godazwj! And they will never realise Youazwj although the apparent of what is with them from Yourazwj bounties, does indicate them to Youazwj.

وك بخلقك فمن ثم لم يعر تخذوا آياتك ربا فبذلك وصفوك فوك و الو عرفوك و في خلقك يا إلهي مندوحة أن يتناولوك بل سوته. ا به المشبهون نعتوك ثم قام فركب داب ست عم تعاليت رب و تقد

Had they recognised Youazwj, O myasws God, they would have inevitable attained Youazwj. But, they equated Youazwj with Yourazwj creatures. So, from then, they did not recognise Youazwj and they took your Signs as Lords, and by that they described Youazwj. Youazwj are Exalted, Lordazwj, and Youazwj are Holier from what they are resembling Yourazwj Attributes with’. Then heasws stood, and rode hisasws animal’.32
