Message from Chairman’s desk
Gujarati Samaj members have enjoyed various activities during the first half of the year 2013.Thanks to the members who have attended various events, all hard working volunteers who spared their valuable time to make the events enjoyable, all Sponsors/Donors for their generous monetary support, Committee Leads who work tirelessly for managing the events, Executive Committee members who planned these events successfully, Board of Governors who cooperated and participated with Executive Committee in making these events successful, and our President Vasudev Patel for motivating and in bringing harmony amongall who were involved in those events.
I would like to Request every member to buy the ticket for our Samaj's fund raising event “ A comedy Gujarati natak to help our Samaj and encourage Artists/volunteers.
We would like to send a message to all the members of Gujarati Samaj, please, take little moment of your specious time to advice, suggest and direct to your chosen Office Bearers so they can improve in planning and performing in future Samaj activities. If you have any questions regarding our performance or the financial accounts, you are always welcomed to contact us any time. Your inputs will help us to fulfill our responsibility in battering the Samaj.

૨૦૧૩ના ભે ભશીના થી જુરાઈ ભશીનાના વભમ દયમ્માન વભાજના હશતેચ્છું અને ઉત્વાશી વભ્મોના વાથ અને વશકાય તથા પકપનક જેલા આઉટ ડોય પ્રવુંગો એ કુદયત ની ભશયેફાની ઉયાુંત સ્થાનીક બફઝનેવ વમદુામના વશકાયથી ભધવસ ડે ીકનીક, ગજુયાત હદન, યથુકેમ્, વુંત શ્રી ળાન્તીપ્રીમદાવજીના અમતૃલચનો, ફેપવક કોમ્પટુય કરાવ, ફોરીવડુની ૧૦૦ભી લસ જમુંતીની ઉજલણી થઈ યશીછે, ત્માયે જુના ગીતોનો અદભતુ કામસક્રભ તથા વભાજના પવપનમય ગ્રુના આધ્માત્ત્ભક અને મસટનના પ્રવુંગો ખફુજ ઉત્વાશ અને ઉભુંગ વાથે ભાણ્મા. આલી યશરેા હદલવોભાું રાઈપ રાઈન સ્કીનીંગ, એડલાન્વ કોમ્પટુય ટે્રઈનીંગ કરાવીવ, બજન વુંગીત વુંધ્મા, ૧૨ભા ધોયણના પલદ્યાથીઓ ને ભદદરૂ થલા ભાટે SAT અને ACT ના લગો તથા ઘણાફધા નલા પ્રોગ્રાભોનુું આમોજન થઇ યહ્ુુંછે. તે ઉયાુંત વભાજને આથીક ભદદ થઇ ળકે તે ભાટે વભાજના વભ્મો અને શબુેચ્છકો દ્વાયા ચાય ભાવના અથાક હયશ્રભના પ રૂે તેમાય થઇ યશરે શાસ્મથી બયપયુ વાથેન ુપેપભરી કોભેડી નાટક “ગરબડદાસ ન ું ગેસ્ટહાઉસ” તથા વભ્મોની ભાગણી અનવુાય ફીજા અનેક કામસકભો ભાણલા અને તેભાું બાગ રેલા આ વલેને પલનુંતીવશ અલકારૂ કરૂછું. ોતાના ગભા અણગભાને ફાજુભાું યાખીને વભાજ પ્રત્મેની પયજ અને નીષ્ટાને ધ્માનભાું યાખી ભોટી વુંખ્માભાું સ્લમુંભ ુભદદ ભાટે આગ આલેર વલેનો હુ ું આબાય ભાનુું છું.

As the newest addition to Milan Eye Center, Dr. Niraj Desai specializes in cataract surgery, LASIK, corneal
disease, and corneal surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies in two years and then began his medical career at the Medical College of Georgia.
In medical school, he was active in cutting edge research with the Department of Ophthalmology
and graduated in the top ten percent of his class. He completed an Internal Medicine
Internship at the University of Hawaii and an ophthalmology residency at the
University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Desai was also chosen to complete a
prestigious fellowship focusing on corneal and refractive surgery at
the University of California, Irvine.

GUJARATI SAMAJ OF ATLANTA, YOUTH CAMP 2013. This year’s Gujarati Samaj 2013 Youth Camp was a true success! The camp kicked off on June 3rd for two week long sessions with a total of 80 participant’s ages ranging from 5 to 17 Counselors,Akshar,Aksar,amar,Anuj,Janki,neegum,Nikesh,Priya,Rajvee,Riddhi,Sahil,shaumik,Shikha,Shiv and Vastal. Samaj takes a Great pride and thanks Hetal Raval- chair and Palak Patel -Co-Chair, for Youth Camp 2013. Both High School educators, for leading the camp into a great success. The Gujarati Samaj 2013 Youth Camp created a memorable and educational experience for all ages with activities consisting of cultural arts and crafts, interactive science projects with help of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Gujarati language and religious prayer learning sessions, yoga with Gitaben, extracurricular with water sports, Thanks to Sanjaybhai and family for putting up an Exclusive field trip to Helen, GA with water park activities and a daytime picnic for the campers and their families. The last day of the Youth Camp closed with an amazing Grand Finale performance and full dinner for campers and families. With a lively audience of 350, the campers displayed their talents by performing various cultural dances and recital of sacred prayers. This year’s Gujarati Samaj Youth Camp fulfilled its goal in providing a fun, educational, and safe environment where children learned to appreciate their rich cultural heritage. The camp would not have been a great success without the hard work and dedication from our Volunteers, including the Kitchen staff led by Bhavnaben Patel, and fulltime help from, Pryanka gupta, Ushaben Karia, Ushaben Patel, Daxaben Patel, Arunaben Patel, All this Ladies Joined, Indiraben Patel, For Preparing Full cooked Breakfast every morning, and Hot Lunch’s every afternoons, with Snack follow up in the afternoon. Also like to add countless Volunteers who took time to come in and helped us in Food preparation, Roshni Patel, Drashna Dashadia, Pushpa Patel, Sejal Patel, Shardaba, Ina Patel, Rupa Patel, Madhuben Anand and Falguni Shah The Samaj especially thanks dedicated member Jayeshbhai Patel, who was always on call 24/hr. a day, Girisbhai mukhi, for his Art work, and Ushaben and Ruchitaben, ever ready for any help. The Samaj greatly appreciates all the extra Donors and Sponsors, Marco Pizza, US1, Raj Bhog, and Volunteers in making this camp a great memorable experience for all! Though our children live half a world away, they have every reason to learn about their cultural heritage, to be proud of their roots, and to be inspired by India’s many traditions and help keep them alive – we look forward to next year’s Youth Camp! PICNIC REPORT Around four hundred people enjoyed the picnic at beautiful Lake Altoona Mountain Park. Day before the picnic, there was a doubt about the weather may not be good. But to respect the excitement of all picnic lovers, on the picnic day weather was superb with bright sunshine and 72-75 F degree temperature. Twenty five or more volunteers with smiling faces were working to make this picnic very enjoyable. Never before we had such a variety of food in the picnic. Started with Sev-usal, pav-bhaji and Jalebi along with Mexican-bhel for kids. Mid-day snack of Dal-vada, Mirchi bhajiyo and Special Masala Chai was enjoyed by everyone. Sekela Makkai added to the fun. Every one must see the pictures of picnic on our Web-site to see the smile and satisfaction on everyone's face. Enjoyment was topped by the dinner of Badshahi Khichdi, Kathiawadi Chhas, Ringan-bataka nu Shak, and Sweet Onion. Lots of Seniors enjoy picnic. One American young couple with their children attended the picnic and they were so much delighted to see our enthusiasm, togetherness and enjoyment. In-charge Committee members for picnic thank to Board of Governors and Executive Committee members for the cooperation in making picnic successful.
