DESCRIPTION:

Disodium hydrogen phosphate I.P.
Sod ium d ihydrogen phospha te I.P.
One I.U. of Chorionic Gonadotrophin is defined as the activity
contained in 1.279
mg of the 2nd Internationa l Standard Prep aration.
Each vial of HuCoG (HCG) is ac com pa nied by a solvent amp oule
c onta ining 1 mlof isotonic , sterile a nd pyrog en free sod ium
Chloride Injec tion solution.
PROPERTIES:
Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) is a hormonal substance
obtained from
urine o f preg nant wom en. Its ac tion is p red om ina tely
luteinizing.

INDICATIONS:
Anovulatory Infertility
In female patient, HuCoG
Inj. is used in the treatment of a anovulatory infertility,whe
re its administra tion would form part o f rec og nized trea tment
reg imen involving
the p rior stimulat ion of fo llicular ma tura tion and end om
etria l proliferation e .g . with
Menotrop in Injec tion (HuMoG).
Hypogonadotrophic hypog onad ism a nd c ryptorchidism:
In male patient, HuCoG Inj. stimulated the interstitial cells of
the testes and con-
seq uently the sec retion of and rog ens and the de velopm ent o
f sec ondary sexua l
characteristics.
With concomitant Menotropin Inj. (HuMoG) therapy, HuCoG Inj.
stimulates the
induc tion a nd ma intenance o f spe rma togenesis. HuCoG is
also indicated in thetrea tment of hypog onadotrop hic hypo gonad
ism and c rypto rchidism
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
HuCoG is given by intram uscular Injec tion only. The injec tion
should b e rec onsti-
tuted with solvent a nd it should b e p rep ared just p rior to
use.
Anovulatory Infertility:
HuCoG Inj. 10000 I.U. is administered in mid-cyc le, follow ing
t rea tment with M eno -
tropin Inj. (HuMoG) according to a recognized scheme. Details of
Menotropin Inj.
(HuMoG) dosages and m onitoring a re ava ilab le on reque
st.
Hypogonadotrophic hypogonadism:
HuCoG IM Inj. 500-4000 I.U. thrice weekly for 6 to 9 mo nths
with serum testosterone
levels regularly monitored and concomitant use of
HuMoG(Menotropin Inj.) one
via l three times a week, is often ad ded to enab le spermatog
enesis.
Cryptochidism:
HuCoG Inj. 1000 I.U. is injec ted on a lterna te days for
several weeks.

CONTRAINDICATION AND WARNINGS:
Stimulation of ovulation w ith HuMoGmay lead to super ovulation
and the hyper-
stimulat ion syndrom e. Oestrogen a ssays will detec t and
excessive response so tha t
HuCoG Inj. (HCG) ma y be withheld in tha t pa rticular trea
tment cyc le. In the male,
high dosages of HuCoG
Inj. may lead to oedema and in such cases dosagesshould be c
onsiderab ly red uced .
If signs of sexual precocity are observed a reduced dosage
regimen should be
instituted.
STORAGE:
Vials of HuCoG Inj. should be stored at 2080C p rotec ted from
light . Solution o f
HuCoG rec onstituted in physiolog ica l sod ium chloride
solution and should be used
imm ed ia tely a fter p rep ara tion. Disca rd a ny unused
portion.
PRESENTATION:
HuCoG Inj. 2000 I.U. / 5000 I.U. / 10000 I.U. packed as a sing
le via l and it is ac -
com panied by one a mp oule of 1 ml. Sod ium Chloride Injec tion
a s solvent.
Drugs should b e stored out of reach o f child ren.
