    New Features

    1. Allows the user to set a password. (Maximum 16 characters) 2. Allows the user to enter a Password Hint, in case the password is

    forgotten. 3. Automatically formats the Protected part of the Flash Drive when the

    wrong password is entered 6 times. 4. New Format function, allows the user to define the capacity of the

    protected area.

    Important

    1. When using the Flash Drive with the security application program, only use ONE Flash Drive at a time. Using more than one Flash Drive may cause malfunctions

    2. It is advisable to have another protected backup of your data in case of loss or damage to the Flash Drive or you forget your password.

    3. For a higher level of security, encrypting your data using a third party product is recommended.

    Windows 2000 Users Only 1. Since Windows 2000 (original) can only support ONE removable disk drive. Only

    the protected area is visible. Please copy the security application program to the Windows desktop and access the program from the desktop. Please upgrade to at least service pack 4 (SP4) to overcome this problem.

    Mac OS Users Only 1. There is NO Security Application Program available for Mac OS. 2. Mac OS 8.6 ~ 10.1.1. These operating systems can only support ONE

    removable drive. So only the protected area is visible. 3. Mac OS 10.1.2 onwards can support multiple Flash drives.

    Setup Password

    1) Press Set Password to set a password, you will see the following screen

    2) Enter a password of your choice. (Maximum 16 characters long) 3) Confirm the password by re-entering the same password. 4) Enter a password hint of your own, in case you forget your password. You

    can enter up to 31 characters.

    5) Tick Unmask Password box to see actual characters

    6) Press, Set to confirm changes. You will see the message window below

    pop up. 7) This message window tells you, that the device will be automatically locked

    after you remove the device from the USB port.

    8) Once you have set up the password correctly, you will notice the change in Password Exist Status to "Yes"

    NOTE When you remove the device from USB port and re-insert it again, the

    device will automatically be locked. If you try to access it, it will reply with an error message. (Actual message will depend on your operating system)

    If you execute the Security Application Program, you will see that the device is LOCKED.

    Changing Password

    (1) If you have already setup a password, you can change the password. Click Change Password to begin.

    (2) Enter your old password (3) Enter a new password (Maximum 16 characters long) (4) Confirm the new password by re-entering (5) Change the password hint to match your new password if required.

    I. The "Password Hint" does not have to entered or changed. II. The "Password Hint" can only be edited with a new password. i.e. The

    "Password Hint" cannot be edited or changed without a change of password.

    III. Use Unmask Password to reveal charaters.

    Disable/Remove Password

    (1) If you no longer want to use the password, select Disable Password to

    remove it.

    (2) Enter your password.

    Warning: You only have SIX chances to enter password correctly. If you enter

    the wrong password six times, it will automatically FORMAT the protected area of your Flash Drive (All data will be lost)

    Unlock Device (1) If you have setup a password -

    Before you can access the data on the protected area, you must Unlock the Flash Drive first. Select Unlock to enter your password.

    (2) Enter your password.

    Warning: You only have SIX chances to enter password correctly. If you enter

    the wrong password six times, it will automatically FORMAT the protected area of your Flash Drive (All data will be lost)

    Password Hint You may forget you password. So when you setup or change your password, you can also enter a Reminder of your choice to help you remember your password. Enter a hint of your choice. (Maximum 31 characters long). You can only enter a hint when you set or change a password.

    Format

    (1) Press Format to adjust the "PROTECTED" and "UNPROTECTED" capacities of the Flash Drive

    (2) A warning message will show, telling the user that if you proceed with the formatting, any data on the Flash Drive will be lose.

    (3) Drag the bar to adjust the capacity of the Protected area.

    E.g.: In this case, the protected area is a bit over 14MB and the unprotected area will be the remainder.
