اﻟﺮﺣﻴﻢ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﻠﻪ ﺑﺴﻢ اﳌﻨﺎﻗﺐ ﻛﺘﺎبِ ﺎرَ ْ َ ْ اﻷِ ِ ﺎﻗَ َ ﺎبَ e Merits of the Ansar ََ وْ ِ ْ َِ إَ َ ﺎﺟَ ْ َ َ ﻮنِ ُ ْ ِ ِ ْ َ ْ ِ َ ﺎنَ ِ اﻹَ وَ اﻟﺪﱠار واُ ءَ َ َ ﻳﻦِ اﻟﱠﺬَ و} .{ﻮاُ وﺗُ أ ِ ً َ ﺎﺟَ ْ ِ ِ ورُ ُ ِ َ ونُ ِ َ And [also for] those who were settled in al-Madinah and [adopted] the faith before them. They love those who emigrated to them and <ind not any want in their breasts of what the emigrants were given but give [them] preference over themselves, even though they are in privation. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful. - Ansar: plural of Nasir, Allah gave them this title, they were originally from Yemen, and were of two tribes: Aws and Khazraj. They inhabited yathrib before the Prophet (s) migrated there. باب مناقب األنصار The Merits of the Ansar

ار واإلميان من قبلهم يحبون من هاجر إليهم وال ءوا الد {والذين تبويجدون يف صدورهم حاجة مام أوتوا}.

نا الله عز وجل كنا ندخل عىل أنس كم الله قال بل سام أم سامثنا مبناقب األنصار ومشاهدهم ويقبل عيل أو عىل رجل من فيحد

Narrated Ghailan bin Jarir: I asked Anas, "Tell me about the name 'Al-Ansar.; Did you call yourselves by it or did Allah call you by it?" He said, "Allah called us by it." We used to visit Anas (at Basra) and he used to narrate to us the virtues and deeds of the Ansar, and he used to address me or a person from the tribe of Al-Azd and say, "Your tribe did so-and-so on such-and-such a day.”

The sacrifice of the Ansar on the day of Uhud رد يـوم أحـد ىف سـبعة مـن األنـصار ورجـلني مـن قـريـش ول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم أف عـن أنـس بـن مـالـك أن رسـم رجـل مـن األنـصار فـقاتـل حـتى قـتل ثـم هـم عـنا ولـه الـجنة أو هـو رفـيقى ىف الـجنة . فـتقد فلام رهـقوه قـال مـن يردم رجـل مـن األنـصار فـقاتـل حـتى قـتل هـم عـنا ولـه الـجنة أو هـو رفـيقى ىف الـجنة . فـتقد رد رهـقوه أيـضا فـقال مـن يـبعة فـقال رسول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم لـصاحـبيه مـا أنـصفنا أصـحابـنا .[صحیح مسـلم: فـلم يزل كذلـك حـتى قـتل الس

It has been reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik that (when the enemy got the upper hand) on the day of the Battle of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) was left with only seven men from the ansar and two men from the Quraish.

For him is Paradise or (said) he will be my Companion in Paradise. A man from the Ansar came forward and fought (the enemy) until he was killed. The enemy advanced and overwhelmed him again and he repeated the words: Who will turn them away from us? For him is Paradise or (said) he will be my Companion in Paradise. A man from the Ansar came forward and fought until he was killed. Martyrs at Uhud عن أيب بن كعب قال لام كان يوم أحد قتل من األنصار أربعة وستون رجال ومن المهاجرين ستة [مسند أحمد:21229

Narrated Ubai bin ka`b that at the battle of Uhud, 64 men of Ansar and 6 men of Muhajreen were martyred.- Atotalof70muslimsweremartyredatUhud.64ofthemwereAnsar.

It has been reported on the authority of Anas b. Malik that some people came to the Messenger of Allah and said to him: Send with us some men who (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص)may teach us the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Accordingly, he sent seventy men from the Ansar. They were called the Reciters الــــــــــقـراء and among them was my maternal uncle Haram (bin Milhan). They used to recite the Qur'an, discuss and ponder over its meaning at night. In the day they brought water and poured it (in pitchers) in the mosque, collected wood

and sold it, and with the sale proceeds bought food for the people of the Suffa and the needy. Theywerethehostsofthemuhajireenandallthosewhostayedinthemasjid.The Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) sent the Reciters with these people, but these (treacherous people) fell upon them and killed them before they reached their destination.

Worshippers in the night and hard workers in the day عـن أنـس بـن مـالـك قـال كـان شـباب مـن األنـصار يـسمون الـقراء يـكونون يف نـاحـية مـن املـديـنة يحسـب أهـلوهـم انـهم يف املسجـد ويحسـب أهـل املسجـد انـهم يف أهـليهم فـيصلون مـن الـليل حـتى إذا تـقارب الـصبح احـتطبوا الحـطب واسـتعذبـوا مـن املـاء فـوضـعوه عىل أبـواب حجـر رسول الـله فـبعثهم جـميعا اىل برئ مـعونـة فـاسـتشهدوا فـدعـا الـنبي

صىل الله عليه وسلم عىل قتلتهم أياما [صحيح ابن حبان:7263]

Anas b. Malik reported, some youths of the Ansar who were called Qurra (reciters) would be in a corner of Madina, their families would think they were in the masjid and the people in the masjid would think they are at home, but they would pray in the night until the morning would draw near. They would collect wood in the day and bring sweet water to drink and fill the pitchers, and leave them at the doors of the hujuraat (apartments) of the Prophet (S). He (s) sent them to Bi’r Maunah and they were all martyred. So the Prophet (s) prayed against their murderers for many days.TheProphet(s)prayedQunutNazilaatthistime.

These70menwerenotordinarypeople,theyrecitedQuranatnightandservedpeopleintheday.Somanypeopleweregone,butthepeopleofmadinadidnotfallindepression.Theycontinueddespitethisgreattragedy.WEarealwaysgrievingbecauseofourpettylosses.Thosewhothinkonlyaboutthemselvesremainingrief,butthosewhoworryaboutothersstaystrongandcarryon.

Narrated `Aisha: The day of Bu'ath (i.e. Day of fighting between the two tribes of the Ansar, the Aus and Khazraj) was brought about by Allah for the good of His Apostle so that when Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) reached (Medina), the tribes of Medina had already divided and their chiefs had been killed and wounded. - TheProphet(s)wasmostlyopposedbythechiefsofthetribes,butinYathrib,allthechiefshadbeenkilled.SowhentheProphet(s)came,theywerereadytoaccepthimastheirleaderandguide.IFtheirchiefswerestillalivetheywouldhavepreventstheAnsarfrombelieving.

- SothebattleofBu’athwasabigreasonfortheacceptanceoftheirIslam.Theirpoliticalsituationwassuchthattheyneededaleader.

- TherehadbeenmanybattlesbetweentheAwsandKhazraj,butthebloodiestandlastofthemallwasofBuaththatwasfought`iveyearsbeforetheProphet(s)cametoMadina.Somesayitwasfought2monthsor40daysbeforethearrivaloftheProphet(s).

The background of the battle of Buath بـعاث أو يوم بـعاث هـي آخـر مـعركـة مـن مـعارك األوس والخزرج بيرثب قـبل هجرة الـرسول , وبـعاث (بـضم الـباء) رهـا إذ أخـذت بـهم األحـقاد رة بخـمس سـنوات و تـعد أشهـر وأدمـى مـعركـة بني اليرثبيني وآخـ وقـعت قـبل الهجـوالـضغون إىل أن أخـذوا يسـتعدون لـها ويـعدون قـبل شهـريـن - وقـيل 40 يومـا - مـن وقـعتها . حـالـف الخزرج أشـجع وجهـينة , وحـالـف األوس مـزيـنة وقـبائـل الـيهود بـني قـريـظة وبـنو النضري وغريهم. وسـميت املـعركـة بـبعاث نسـبة

The battle of Bu’ath or the day of Bu’ath is the last battle that was fought between the Aws and Khazraj that took place near Yathrib before the migration of the Prophet (s). This incident occurred 5 years before the hijrah…

The reason for this battle was that of the ‘rules’ of the people of YAthrib was that an ‘aseel’ was not to be killed in revenge for ‘haleef’. But a man from the Aws killed a haleef of the khazraj so they intended to take him captive, but the Aws refused, and this lead to a bloody battle in which their chiefs were killed.

The murder of the leaders of Aws and Khazraj وكـان رئـيس األوس فـيه حضري والـد اسـيد بـن حضري وكـان يـقال لـه حضري الـكتائـب وبـه قـتل وكـان رئـيس •

الخـزرج يـومـئذ عـمرو بـن النعامن الـبيايض فـقتل فـيها أيـضا وكـان النرص فـيها اوال للخـزرج ثـم ثـبتهم حضري فرجـعوا وانترصت األوس وجـرح حضري يـومـئذ فامت فـيها وذلـك قـبل الهجرة بخـمس سنني [فـتح

The leader of the Aws Hudayr who was the father of Usayd b. Hudayr was given the title, ‘Hudayr al Kataa’ib’: The hudayr of armies. He was killed in Bu’ath. The leader of the Khazraj was Amr. B. Nu’man Biyadi and he was also killed in Bu’ath. Initially the Khazraj were victorious but then Hudayr defeated them. Hudayr was wounded that day and he died as a result of that.

The beginning of Abdullah b. Ubays enmity The only surviving chief was Abdullah b. Ubay who expected that he would be taken as the leader of YAthrib, but the coming of the Prophet (s) changed that. So he outwardly embraced ISlam but inside his heart he was not.

The girls sang songs about this battle at Eid عـن عـائـشة قـالـت دخـل عىل أبـو بـكر وعـندى جـاريـتان مـن جـوارى األنـصار تـغنيان مبـا تـقاولـت بـه األنـصار يـوم ـيطان ىف بـيت رسول الـله -صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم- وذلـك ىف .فـقال أبـو بـكر أمبزمور الش بـعاث قـالـت وليسـتا مبغنيتني

يوم عيد. فقال رسول الله -صىل الله عليه وسلم- « يا أبا بكر إن لكل قوم عيدا وهذا عيدنا ».[صحیح مسلم:2098]

'A'isha reported: Abu Bakr came to me and I had two girls with me from among the girls of the Ansar and they were singing what the Ansar recited to one

another at the Battle of Bu'ath. They were not, however, singing girls. Upon this Abu Bakr said What! Satan's voice is getting louder at the house of Allah's Messenger? And this happened on 'Id day. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said: Abu Bakr, every people have a festival and it is our festival (so let them play on).

ثنا شعبة عن أيب التياح قال سمعت أنسا ريض الله ثنا أبو الوليد حد 3778 - حدعنه يقول قالت األنصار يوم فتح مكة وأعطى قريشا والله إن هذا لهو العجب إن سيوفنا تقطر من دماء قريش وغنامئنا ترد عليهم فبلغ ذلك النبي ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص فدعا األنصار قال فقال ما الذي بلغني عنكم وكانوا ال يكذبون فقالوا هو الذي بلغك قال أوال ترضون أن يرجع الناس بالغنائم إىل بيوتهم وترجعون برسول الله ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص إىل بيوتكم لو سلكت األنصار واديا أو شعبا لسلكت وادي األنصار أو شعبهم

Anas b. Malik reported that when it was the Day of Hunain there came the tribes of Hawazin, Ghatafan and others along with their children and animals, and there were with the Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) that day ten thousand (soldiers), and newly freed men (of Mecca after its conquest). All these men (once) turned their backs, till he (the Prophet) was left alone. He

They said: labaik, Messenger of Allah. Be glad we are with you. He then turned towards his left and said: O people of Ansar. They said: labaik. Be glad we are with you. He (the Prophet) was riding a white mule. He dismounted and said: I am the servant of Allah and His Messenger. The polytheists suffered defeat and the Messenger of Allah acquired a large quantity of spoils, and he distributed them among the refugees and the people recently delivered (of Mecca) but did not give anything to the Ansar. He (the Prophet) said: If the people were to tread a valley, and the Ansar were to tread a narrow path, I would take the narrow path of the Ansar. Hisham said: I asked Abu Hamza if he was present there. He said: How could I be absent from him?

When everyone gathered, the Prophet (s) came to them, praised Allah and said, o ansar what am I hearing?… were you not in error and Allah guided you through me? were you not in poverty and Allah enriched you through me? were you not enemies and Allah united you through me? They said yes…. The Prophet (s) said, if you wish you can answer me by saying… you came to us when you were rejected and we took you in, we believed in you… you came without help and we helped you… you were expelled and we let you in our homes… you came empty handed and we spent on you…. O Ansar, are you upset over this petty wealth? this wealth by which I soften the hearts of some so they become firm on Islam, and I leave your Islam to you (as in I have no fear regarding you)… The ansar wept so their beards were wet….- Misunderstandingsshouldbemadeclearimmediately,becausesuchfeelingsdisuniteusandharmourwork.

Narrated Anas Bin Malik, he said: When Allah gave Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) what he gave of the properties of the Hawazin tribe as a war booty some people from Ansar felt sorrow, the Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) started giving some men 100 camels each. The Ansar (then) said, "May Allah forgive Allah's Messenger s as he gives to Quraish and leaves us although(ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص)our swords are still dribbling with the blood of Quraish." Anas said: Allah’s Apostle was informed of their statement, so he sent for the Ansar and gathered them in a leather tent, and did not call anybody else along with them. When they all gathered, the Prophet got up and said, "What is this talk being informed (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص)to me about you?" The sensible men amongst the Ansar said, "O Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص)! Our chiefs did not say anything, but some people amongst us who are younger in age said. 'May Allah forgive Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) as he gives (of the booty) to Quraish and leaves us though our swords are still dribbling with their blood." The Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said, "I give to these men who have newly deserted heathenism (and

By Allah, what you are taking is better than whatever they are taking." They (i.e. the Ansar) said, "O Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص)! We are satisfied." - Suchmisunderstandingmustbeuprootedimmediately,becausewithtimetheygetdeeperandstronger,anddistractusfromourwork-allourenergygoesintosuchthings

It has been narrated by Abu Huraira, who said…. Some of the Ansar whispered among themselves (at the conquest of Makkah): (After all), love for his city and tenderness towards his relations have overpowered him. Abu Huraira said: (At this moment) revelation came and when he was going to receive the Revelation, we understood it, and when he was (actually) receiving it, none of us would dare raise his eyes to the Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) until the revelation came to an end. When the revelation came to an end, the Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said: O people of the Ansar! They said: Here we are at your service, Messenger of Allah. He said: You were saying that love for his city and tenderness towards his people have overpowered this man? They said: So it was. He said: No, never. I am a servant of Allah and His Messenger. I migrated towards Allah and towards you. I will live with you and will die with you. So, they (the Ansar) turned towards him in tears and they

So they showed him the Qainuqa' market. (He went there and) returned with a profit in the form of dried yogurt/cheese and butter. He continued going (to the market) till one day he came, bearing the traces of yellow scent. The Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) asked, "What is this (scent)?" He replied, "I got married." The Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) asked, "How much Mahr did you give her?" He replied, "I gave her a datestone of gold or a gold piece equal to the weight of a date-stone." Narrated Anas: When `Abdur-Rahman bin `Auf came to us, Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) made a bond of brotherhood between him and Sa`d bin Ar-Rabi` who was a rich man, Sa`d said, "The Ansar know that I am the richest of all of them, so I will divide my property into two parts between me and you, and I have two wives; see which of the two you like so that I may divorce her and you can marry her after she becomes lawful to you by her passing the prescribed period (i.e. 'Idda) of divorce. `Abdur Rahman said, "May Allah bless you your family (i.e. wives) for you." (But `Abdur-Rahman went to the market) and did not return on that day except with some gain of dried yogurt/cheese or butter. He went on trading just a few days till he came to Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) bearing the traces of yellow scent over his clothes. Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) asked him, "What is this scent?" He replied, "I have married a woman from the Ansar." Allah's Apostle asked, "How much Mahr have you given?" He said, "A date-stone weight of gold or a golden date-stone." م قال سمعت المغرية بن د أبو هام لت بن محم ثنا الص 3782 - حدثنا أبو الزناد عن األعرج عن أيب هريرة ريض الله عنه عبد الرحمن حد

قال قالت األنصار اقسم بيننا وبينهم النخل قال ال قال يكفوننا المئونة ويرشكوننا يف التمر قالوا سمعنا وأطعنا

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Ansar said (to the Prophet ,( (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) "Please divide the date-palm trees between us and them (i.e. emigrants)." - DivideourpropertiesbetweenusandtheMuhajireen.

The Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said, "No." - BecausehewashopefulthatAllahwouldenrichtheMuhajireeninthefutureanditwouldbeunfairthatthepropertiesoftheAnsararetakenfromthem

The Ansar said, "Let them (i.e. the emigrants) do the labor for us in the gardens and share the date-fruits with us." The emigrants said, "We accepted this.”

The generosity of the Ansar Giving up their lands for the Immigrants

أيـديـهم يـعني شـيئا وكـانـت عـن أنـس بـن مـالـك ريض الـله عـنه قـال لام قـدم الـمهاجـرون الـمديـنة مـن مـكة ولـيس بـاألنـصار أهـل األرض والـعقار فـقاسـمهم األنـصار عىل أن يـعطوهـم مثـار أموالـهم كـل عـام ويـكفوهـم الـعمل والـمئونـة ـه أم أنـس أم سـليم كـانـت أم عـبد الـله بـن أيب طـلحة فـكانـت أعـطت أم أنـس رسول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وكـانـت أموسـلم عـذاقـا فأعـطاهـن الـنبي صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم أم أميـن موالتـه أم أسـامـة بـن زيـد قـال ابـن شـهاب فأخربين أنـس بـن مـالـك أن الـنبي صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم لام فـرغ مـن قـتل أهـل خيرب فـانرصف إىل الـمديـنة رد الـمهاجـرون إىل ه عذاقها [صحیح البخاري:2630] األنصار منائحهم التي كانوا منحوهم من مثارهم فرد النبي صىل الله عليه وسلم إىل أم

Narrated Anas bin Malik, he said, "When the emigrants came Medina, they had nothing whereas the Ansar had land and property. The Ansar gave them their land on condition that the emigrants would give them half the yearly yield and work on the land and provide the necessaries for cultivation." And Anas's mother, Umm Sulaim who was also the mother of `Abdullah bin Abu Talha, gave some date-palms to Allah's Messenger who gave them to his freed slave-girl (Umm Aiman) who was also the mother of Usama bin Zaid. Ibn Shihab said that Anas told me: When the Prophet (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) finished from the fighting against the people of Khaibar and returned to Medina, the emigrants returned to the Ansar the orchards which

Very generous عـن الـمنذر بـن جـريـر عـن أبـيه قـال كـنا عـند رسول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم ىف صـدر الـنهار قـال فـجاءه قوم حـفاة ر و جـه رسول الـله صىل ـتهم مـن مرض بـل كـلهم مـن مرض فـتمع ـيوف عـام عراة مـجتاىب النامر أو الـعباء مـتقلدى السن وأقـام فصىل ثـم خـطب فـقال (يـا أيـها الـله عـليه وسـلم لام رأى بـهم مـن الـفاقـة فـدخـل ثـم خـرج فـأمـر بـالال فـأذالـناس اتـقوا ربـكم الـذى خـلقكم مـن نـفس واحـدة) إىل آخـر اآليـة (إن الـله كـان عـليكم رقـيبا ) واآليـة الـتى ىف الحرش ره ق رجـل مـن ديـناره مـن درهـمه مـن ثـوبـه مـن صاع ب قوا الـله) تـصد مـت لـغد واتـ قوا الـله ولـتنظر نـفس مـا قـد (اتـه تعجـز عـنها بـل قـد عجزت مـن صاع متره حـتى قـال ولـو بـشق مترة . قـال فـجاء رجـل مـن األنـصار برصة كـادت كـفقـال ثـم تـتابـع الـناس حـتى رأيـت كومني مـن طـعام وثـياب حـتى رأيـت وجـه رسول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم يتهـلل كـأنـه مـذهـبة فـقال رسول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم مـن سـن ىف اإلسالم سـنة حـسنة فـله أجرهـا وأجـر مـن عـمل بـها ء ومـن سـن ىف اإلسالم سـنة سـيئة كـان عـليه وزرهـا ووزر مـن عـمل بـها بـعده مـن غري أن يـنقص مـن أجـورهـم ىش

Mundhir b. Jarir reported on the authority of his father: While we were in the company of the Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) in the early hours of the morning, some people came there (who) were barefooted, naked, wearing striped woollen clothes, or cloaks, with their

swords hung (around their necks). Most of them, nay, all of them, belonged to the tribe of Mudar. The colour of the face of the Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) underwent a change when he saw them in poverty. He then entered (his house) and came out and commanded Bilal (to pronounce Adhan). He pronounced Adhan and Iqama, and he (the Prophet) observed prayer (along with his Companion) and then addressed (them reciting verses of the Qur'an): '" 0 people, fear your Lord, Who created you from a single being" to the end of the verse," Allah is ever a Watcher over you". (He then recited) a verse of Sura Hashr:" Fear Allah. and let every soul consider that which it sends forth for the morrow and fear Allah. (He then said): it is compulsory on a man he should give charity from his dinar, from his dirham, from his clothes, from a sa` of wheat until he said from a piece of date. (Jarir) said: Then a person from among the Ansar came there with a money bag which his hands could barely lift; in fact, they could not (lift). Then the people followed continuously, till I saw two heaps of eatables and clothes, and I saw the face of the Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) glistening, like gold (on account of joy). The Messenger of Allah (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said: He who sets a good precedent in Islam, there is a reward for him for this (act of goodness) and reward of that also who acted

according to it subsequently, without any deduction from their rewards; and he who sets in Islam an evil precedent, there is upon him the burden of that, and the burden of him also who acted upon it subsequently, without any deduction from their burden.- TheAnsarsetaprecedent,anexampleforgenerosity

Happily entertained guests رة قـال خـرج رسـول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم ذات يـوم أو لـيلة فـإذا هـو بـأىب بـكر وعـمر فـقال مـا عـن أىب هـريرجـنى الـذى اعـة . قـاال الـجوع يـا رسـول الـله. قـال وأنـا والـذى نفىس بـيده ألخـ رجكام مـن بـيوتكام هـذه الـس أخـأخرجكام قـومـوا . فـقامـوا مـعه فـأىت رجـال مـن األنـصار فـإذا هـو لـيس ىف بـيته فلام رأتـه الـمرأة قـالـت مرحـبا وأهـال. فـقال لـها رسول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم أيـن فالن قـالـت ذهـب يسـتعذب لـنا مـن الامء. إذ جـاء األنـصارى فـنظر رم أضـيافـا مـنى قـال فـانـطلق ول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم وصـاحـبيه ثـم قـال الحـمد لـله مـا أحـد الـيوم أك إىل رسـفـجاءهـم بـعذق فـيه برس ومتـر ورطـب فـقال كـلوا مـن هـذه. وأخـذ الـمديـة فـقال لـه رسول الـله صىل الـله عـليه وسـلم بوا فلام أن شـبعوا ورووا قـال رسول الـله صىل اة ومـن ذلـك الـعذق ورش يـاك والحـلوب . فـذبـح لـهم فـأكـلوا مـن الـش إالـله عـليه وسـلم ألىب بـكر وعـمر والـذى نفىس بـيده لـتسألـن عـن هـذا الـنعيم يـوم الـقيامـة أخرجـكم مـن بـيوتـكم

الجوع ثم لم ترجعوا حتى أصابكم هذا النعيم .[صحیح مسلم:5434]

Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) went out (of his house) one day or one night, and there he found Abu Bakr and 'Umar also. He said: What has brought you out of your houses at this hour? They said: Allah's Messenger, it is hunger. Thereupon he said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, what has brought you out has brought me out too; get up. They got up along with him and (all of them) came to the house of an Ansari, but he was not at home. When his wife saw him she said: Most welcome and

happy coming, and Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said to her: Where is so and so? She said: He has gone to get some fresh (sweet) water for us. When the Ansari came and he saw Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) and his two Companions, he said: Praise be to Allah, no one has more honourable guests today than I (have). He then went out and brought them a bunch of ripe dates, dry dates and fresh dates, and said: Eat some of them. He then took hold of his long knife (for slaughtering a goat or a sheep). Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said to him: Beware of killing a milch animal. He slaughtered a sheep for them and after they had eaten of it and of the bunch and drank, and when they had taken their fill and had been fully satisfied with the drink, Allah's Messenger (ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص) said to Abu Bakr and Umar: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, you will certainly be questioned about this bounty on the Day of judgment. Hunger brought you out of your house, then you did not return until this bounty came to you.
