Translation: Come, my friend, to meet the bride; let us welcome the Sabbath. “Observe” and “Remember,” in a single command, the One God announced to us. The Lord is One, and his name is One, for fame, for glory and for praise.

Come, let us go to meet the Sabbath, for it is a source of blessing. From the very beginning it was ordained; last in creation, first in God’s plan.

A Song for the Sabbath Day, set to music.

It is good to give thanks to You, YaH, O Transcendent One! We sing praises to Your name.

We affirm Your caring every morning And Your constancy every night Upon a ten-string guitar, our ten spirit rungs, and upon the harp, meditating to the tune of the lute, our soul’s light

For You, YaH, have given me joy through Your actions; I will celebrate the works of Your hands.

O YaH, how great is what You do! Your designs are very profound!

A boor does not know; A stupid one remains unaware. When the depraved ones spread like weeds, when all the evil doers seem successful – in the end, they shall be ruined.

But You, YaH, are ever triumphant. For swiftly Your enemies, YaH, Your enemies shall cease to hate; All the wickedness shall be scattered.

But You empower me with elemental strength; I shall be refreshed, anointed by You.

In my mind’s eye, I have seen the downfall of my detractors; my ears have heard of the doom of the corrupt, who rise up against me.

The righteous flourish like a pair of fruitful palm trees or like a tall cedar on Mount Lebanon. As long as their roots are in the house of YaH, in the courts of our God, they shall continue to flourish. Even in old age they shall bear fruit, still being be potent and vibrant, as they declare that YaH is truthful.

Exalted and hallowed be God’s great name, in the world which God created, according to plan. May God’s majesty be revealed in the days of your lifetime and the life of all Israel – speedily, imminently. To which we say: Amen.

In silence,

On our feet we speak to you.

We rise to speak,

a web of bodies rise like notes.

Bless what brought us through the sea and the fire;

you have taught us to push against the walls,

if there is no way around, to go on.

Our God and God of our ancestors: Accept with mercy our prayer for our land and its government. Pour out your blessing on this land, on its President, judges, officers and officials, who work faithfully for the public good. Teach them from the laws of Your Torah, enlighten them with the rules of Your justice, so that peace, tranquility, happiness and freedom will never depart from our land. God of all that lives, please bestow Your spirit on all the inhabitants of our land, and plant love, fellowship, peace and friendship between the different communities and faiths that dwell here. Uproot from their hearts all hate, animosity, jealousy and strife, in order to fulfil the longings of its people, who aspire for its dignity, and desire to see it as a light for all nations. And so may it be God's will that our land be a blessing for all who live on earth, and that fellowship and liberty will dwell between them. Establish soon the vision of your prophet: “Nation will not raise a sword against nation, and they will no longer learn war,” and, as it is said: “for all of them will know Me, from the smallest to the greatest.” (Amen)
