Le ReSMiQ a pour mission de mener des travaux de re-cherche de pointe conduisant à la conception et la mise en œuvre de dispositifs hétérogènes miniaturisés com-posés de circuits microélectroniques et de structures mi-cro et nanomécaniques, microfluidiques et optiques. Ces microsystèmes sont dédiés à de multiples applications des technologies de l’information dans divers secteurs de l’industrie dont le diagnostic et traitement des maladies, les télécommunications, le multimédia, l’environnement, le transport aérien et terrestre, et bien d’autres technolo-gies émergentes.

Cette mission est portée, entre autres, par la formation d’une main d’œuvre hautement qualifiée œuvrant dans la recherche et le développement de microsystèmes de plus en plus performants et complexes. Le ReSMiQ vise à consolider et à accroitre une masse critique de cher-cheurs qui collaborent à la réalisation de projets multi-disciplinaires contribuant à améliorer la compétitivité des entreprises sur les plans national et international, ainsi qu’à l’efficacité des services de santé et la qualité de vie de nos concitoyens. Par ailleurs, nous visons à favoriser l’utilisation optimale des ressources disponibles dans les institutions partenaires afin de réaliser des travaux de recherche repoussant les frontières des connaissances actuelles dans les disciplines œuvrant à la mise au point des microsystèmes.

Nos projets sont caractérisés par un haut degré de multi-disciplinarité et de complémentarité, en raison de la com-position hétérogène et de la complexité croissante des dispositifs sur lesquels nous travaillons. Le soutien du

ReSMiQ à ses membres favorise la formation d’équipes de recherche multidisciplinaire pour concevoir et mettre en œuvre des microsystèmes innovants. Cela facilite le travail collaboratif, indispensable pour relever les nom-breux défis qui se présentent dans nos travaux de re-cherche.

Nos objectifs spécifiques sont :

• Maintenir des thèmes innovateurs de recherche en re-gard des travaux de pointe au niveau mondial;

• Former une main-d’œuvre hautement qualifiée;• Soutenir les chercheurs et étudiants de toutes les ré-

gions du Québec;• Assurer la relève en recherche par le recrutement de

chercheurs œuvrant dans les domaines porteurs;• Promouvoir les collaborations interuniversitaires et in-

ternationales;• Établir des relations avec des secteurs scientifiques

complémentaires pour être en mesure de créer et de valider des microsystèmes dédiés à des domaines div-ers;

• Favoriser la rétention de nos diplômés au Québec;• Consolider des liens avec des partenaires industriels;• Accélérer l’introduction de nouvelles méthodes de con-

ception et le transfert de technologies vers l’industrie;• Établir et renforcer les relations avec les entités de re-

cherche et développement dans notre secteur (CIMEQ, C2MI, CRIAQ, CMC Microsystèmes, Prompt, etc.) œuvrant au Québec.

ReSMiQ’s mission is to conduct cutting-edge research leading to the design and implementation of heteroge-neous miniaturized devices composed of microelectronic circuits,micro- and nano-mechanical structures, and mi-crofluidic and optic components. These microsystems are dedicated to several applications in the information technology field, including diagnosis and treatment of diseases, telecommunications, multimedia, environment, air and ground transportation, and many other emerging technologies.

This mission is supported, among others, by the train-ing of highly qualified professionals in research and de-velopment of microsystems increasingly powerful and complex. ReSMiQ aims to consolidate and increase a critical mass of researchers who work together in multi-disciplinary projects to improve industry competitiveness at national and international level, and the effectiveness of health services and the quality of life of all Canadi-ans. Furthermore, we seek to promote the optimal use of available resources in our partner institutions to carry out research that pushes the boundaries of current knowl-edge in the disciplines involved in the development of microsystems.

Our projects are characterized by a high degree of mul-tidisciplinarity and complementarity due to the heteroge-neity and increasing complexity of devices on which we work. The support of ReSMiQ to its members promotes the creation of multidisciplinary research teams to devel-op and implement innovative microsystems. This support encourages the collaborative work necessary to address the many challenges of our research.

Our specific objectives are:

• To keep innovative research topics considering ad-vanced research work worldwide;

• To train highly qualified professionals;• To support researchers and students from all regions

of Quebec;• To ensure future research by recruiting researchers in

promising fields;• To promote inter-university and international collabora-

tions;• To build relationships with complementary scientific ar-

eas in order to create and validate microsystems dedi-cated to various fields;

• To encourage our graduates to pursue their career in Quebec;

• To strengthen our links with industrial partners;• To accelerate technological transfer of new methods of

design toward the industry;• To establish and strengthen relationships with entities

of research and development in our area (CIMEQ, C2MI, CRIAQ, CMC Microsystems, Prompt, etc.) operating in Quebec.
