Modish is a contemporary company created to meet the apparel wishes of women. We are focused on providing apparel, which combines sophistication and most importantly, modern trends. As a contemporary company, our target customer is a young female with a large budget and a love for staying up-to-date with the fashion world. She seeks high quality apparel and our luxurious interpretation on modern trends.

The philosophy behind Modish is to provide our customer with contemporary apparel that combines both sophistication and modern trends. The high quality apparel we provide gives us a modern relevance with a timeless feel and will allow customers to stay true to their style. Furthermore, we believe in creating luxurious interpretations on modern trends to allow the customer to make it their own. Modish provides trend conscious, yet timeless styles for the Fall 2012 season. In order to reach our customer, we are located as a free standing store in cities across the United States.

A Day in the life of...

She wakes up early and takes her dog for a walk. Once getting back, she makes breakfast which is an omelet. After checking her emails, she showers and starts to get ready for work. Once she leaves, she stops to get a tea. She arrives to work ten minutes early and greets fellow workers. Once the work day starts it continues to be busy until 5p.m. For lunch today, she is going to an Italian Deli with coworkers. Once the work day is over, she arrives home and takes her dog for a walk. She then heads to yoga class. The rest of the night, she cooks dinner and watches TV until heading to bed.

Designer Biography

Fashion designer, Paige Shanley was born on November 21st, 1989 in Ottawa, Illinois.

Growing up in middle-class family, Paige and her five siblings were raised on a farm. While

growing up, she shopped with her mother and watched her mother dress therefore; she quickly began

to acquire a love of fashion. Every chance she got, she related her schoolwork to fashion and she

would draw sketches of designs in her free time. Shanley’s fashion sense was apparent at an early

age when she would purchase clothing and accessories with the money she earned working at her

after-school job. She even received the “Best Dressed” award during her senior year of high school.

From high school, Shanley went on to a small community college near her home. After

receiving two associates degrees, she continued her education at Columbia College Chicago, where

she studied fashion design. After graduating, Shanley moved to New York City where she immersed

herself in the fast-paced, world famous fashion industry. While she was there, she gained

knowledge and experience that she eventually wanted to apply to her own company. Shanley took

this risk and headed back to Chicago to create her own brand and company.

Once creating her own company, Shanley has been named “Top 40 Under 40” by Crain’s

Chicago Business as well as “Designer of the Year” by Chicago Magazine. In addition, Shanley’s

work has also been featured in Lucky Magazine, Vanity Fair, Women’s Wear Daily, and on

Elle.com. In addition to designing her brand, Shanley sits on The Mayor’s Fashion Council where

she has helped Chicago fashion designers through events and seminars. Most recently, Shanley has

opened her own boutique on Oak Street in Chicago.

Throughout the boutique and brand, Shanley has stayed true to her philosophy of

contemporary styles with quality products. Her designs combine sophistication and modern trends,

while allowing the customer to make it their own. She continues to provide conscious, yet timeless

styles every season.
