  • Message from the Chair:

Welcome to the Golden Gate Section of the American Society of Nondestructive Testing. Whether it be from Academia or Industry, whatever path has broughtyou our way, we are delighted to have you, and are here to facilitate your interest within the sciences, specifically as it relates to the field of non-destructive test-ing.

Our membership is rich in experience, and filled with industry pioneers. We are excited about the growth in the NDT industry and want to do our best to developand train current NDT professionals, and promote our methods to prospective and future NDT technicians and scientists.

Last year we had a great program. This year we will continue with a similar program, but are increasing our focus on community outreach. We are encouragingour membership to get involved with schools at all grade levels, colleges, and young professional organizations. Dan Kerr has lead our section in working withyouth, as he continues to work with Elementary Students. Weve initiated relationships with Los Medanos College, Laney College, UC Berkeley, the CrucibleYouth Program, and High school STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs among others. We also helped man the ASNT table at the ma-jor bi-annual STEM conference in Washington, DC, attended by almost 400,000 people --- most of them young kids!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the section. Its because of your continued support that GGASNTis able to fulfill the mission of our organization and further the NDT Industry! Special thanks to the Officers andBoard of Directors, and Committee Chairs. As a volunteer organization, it warms my heart when I think of howmuch time and effort you all put into making this section a success.

Special thanks to Bob Ganch at RTG Web Designs. Bob has been key in modernizing our section via our web-site, Facebook, and Twitter. Yes Section! Were on Twitter. Bob Ganch along with Scott Morris, our committeechairperson, have been self-starters, understanding the needs of our section and making adjustments to betterserve the NDT community.

Thank you all again for all of your support!

We look forward to seeing everyone at one of our upcoming meetings.
