CONCEPTOS BÁSICOS DE LA ILUMINACIÓN

Flujo luminoso фEs la potencia luminosa de una lámpara o cantidad de luz emitida por la misma. Se mide en lumen (lm)

Intensidad luminosa IEs el flujo emitido por unidad de ángulo sólido en una dirección determinada. Se expresa en candela (cd)

Iluminancia EEs la relación entre el flujo luminoso y el área de la superficie a la que llega la luz. La unidad de medida es el lux (lx = lm/m2)

Luminancia LEs la intensidad luminosa por unidad de superficie emitida o reflejada por dicha superficie en la dirección del ojo. Se mide en candela por unidad de superficie (cd/m2). La luminancia es el concepto más cercano a la percepción visual.

Eficacia luminosa Efl

También llamado rendimiento, se define como la relación entre el flujo luminoso emitido por la lámpara y la potencia consumida por la misma y se mide en lumen por vatio (lm/W)

Factor de reflexión ρDefine el porcentaje del flujo luminoso que incide en una superficie y es reflejado por la misma.El valor de la luminancia (L) se obtiene al multiplicar la iluminancia (E) por el factor (o grado) de reflexión (ρ) de las superficies iluminadas. En el caso de superficies perfectamente difusas: L = ρ.E/π.Por tanto, los colores más oscuros obligan a una superior iluminancia para obtener la misma luminancia y ello supone un mayor consumo eléctrico, es decir, una eficiencia energética (VEE) inferior.

BASIC LIGHTING CONCEPTS

Luminous flux фIndicates the quantity of light the lamp emits in all directions. It’s measured in lumen (lm)

Luminous intensity IIndicates the amount of luminous flux emitted per angle unit in to a certain direction. It’s measured in candela (cd).

Illuminance EIndicates the ratio between the luminous flux and the surface area where the light arrives. It’s measured in lux (lx = lm/m2).

Luminance LIndicates the luminous intensity, emitted or reflected in to the eye direction, per surface unit (cd/m2).Luminance is closest concept of visual perception.

Luminous efficacy Efl

Indicates the lamp performance or the amount of flux emitted per electrical power consumption on the lamp circuit (lm/W). The higher this index, the better the lamp transforms electrical power into light flux emission.

Reflection factor ρIndicates the ratio (%) between the total luminous flux falling on a certain surface and the amount reflected by the same surface.The darker surfaces have much lower reflection factors which demands higher illuminances to obtain the same luminance or, in other words, to obtain the same luminance on a dark surface a higher power consumption is needed.

LUMINARIASLas luminarias son aparatos que sirven para la distribución, el filtrado o la transformación de la luz emitida por las lámparas, incluidos los componentes necesarios para la fijación, la protección y el funcionamiento de dichas lámparas.

Para la descripción de una luminaria se utilizan frecuentemente los lugares de montaje o de ubicación – empotrables, adosables, suspendidas, apliques de pared, etc. – o el tipo de distribución del haz de luz – downlights, asimétricos, orientables, etc.En este catálogo, encontraremos ambas descripciones para subdividir las familias de productos.

Clase de distribución luminosaEl tipo de luminaria viene determinado por su clase fotométrica o distribución espacial de la intensidad luminosa.Para la iluminación general se consideran convenientes las distribuciones de luz extensivas y/o difusas, mientras que para la iluminación de acento se estiman adecuadas las distribuciones intensivas orientables. Para la iluminación perimetral de estanterías y de expositores se sopesa recomendable las distribuciones asimétricas tipo bañadores de pared.En función del tipo de distribución luminosa del haz con que se ilumina el objeto, se obtienen resultados muy diferentes.

RendimientoEl rendimiento de una luminaria (η) se define como la relación entre el flujo luminoso total emitido por la luminaria y la suma de los flujos luminosos de las lámparas individuales instaladas en su interior.El rendimiento de una luminaria depende fundamentalmente del tipo de fuente de luz, del tipo y calidad del sistema óptico y de la calidad de los materiales utilizados en su construcción.

Factor de utilizaciónSe define el factor de utilización (Fu) como la relación entre el flujo útil que incide sobre el plano de trabajo y el flujo emitido por la totalidad de las lámparas instaladas en la luminaria.El factor de utilización es función de los siguientes parámetros:• Características geométricas del local (K)• Rendimiento de la luminaria (η)• Clase fotométrica de la luminaria• Modo de instalación de las luminarias en el local (implatación)• Factores de reflexión de las paredes, techo, suelo y plano útil iluminado

Criterios de selecciónLa calidad luminotécnica y de los materiales, la rentabilidad, la seguridad y la comodidad del montaje (facilidad de instalación) son aspectos fundamentales para el diseño y fabricación de luminarias. LUMINAIRESLuminaires are apparatus used for distributing, filtering or transforming the light given by the lamps and which include the components needed to fix, protect and connect the lamps to the supply circuit.

To describe or define the type of luminaire we can use either its way of mounting – recessed mounted, surface mounted, pendant, wall mounted, etc.- or the type of beam distribution –downlight, uplight, asymmetric, directional, etc.In this catalogue, both descriptions are used to classify the product families/ranges.

Luminous intensity distributionThe type of luminaire can be determined by its photometric class or spatial distribution of the luminous intensity.Extensive and/or diffuse light distributions are convenient for general lighting, while directional intensive distributions are adequate for accent lighting. For perimeter lighting of shelves and expositors, asymmetrical distributions like wall-washers are recommended.According to the beam used to light the object, different results are achieved.

Light output ratioThe luminaire efficiency (η) is defined as the relation between the total luminous flux emitted by the luminaire and the sum of light fluxes from individual lamps installed inside. Light output ratio mainly depends on the light source, the optical system of the luminaire and the quality of the materials used to manufacture it.

Utilisation factor The utilisation factor (Fu) is defined as the relation between the utilised flux on the working surface, and the flux emitted by lamps installed in the luminaire.The utilisation factor is a function of the following parameters:• Room index K (geometrical characteristics of the room)• Light output ratio (η)• Light distribution of the luminaire (photometrical class)• Arrangement of the luminaires in the room• Reflectance of walls, ceiling, floor and working plane

CURVA DE DISTRIBUCIÓN LUMINOSA

Este diagrama (generalmente polar) representa las direcciones en las que emite una luminaria y con qué intensidad. Se toma como referencia un flujo de 1000 lumen por lo que los valores de la gráfica se facilitan en cd/Klm.En este catálogo, facilitamos las curvas de las versiones más sig-nificativas de cada gama donde sólo se representa la curva del plano longitudinal (C0º-180º).En nuestro software de cálculo se podrán consultar también los planos transversal (C90º-270º) y los intermedios (C45º-225º y C135º-315º).

Diferentes fijaciones al carril según modelo:- versiones electrónicas para lámpara baja tensión y HIt-t se fijan directamente via el adaptador que permite la fijación, conexión eléctrica y elección del circuito en un mismo componente . en las versiones para HIt-t (foto) este adaptador va incorporado en la caja de los componentes eléctricos.

Different track fixation, according the version:- electronic versions for low voltage and HIT-T lamps are mounted directly via the adaptor which makes the fixation, electric connection and circuit selection in the same component. Balastos

Todas las lámparas de descarga, incluidas las fluorescentes, tienen en común una impedancia negativa lo que implica que la intensidad de corriente suministrada para una tensión constante se incrementa hasta la destrucción de la lámpara.Por este motivo, debe instalarse un balasto para limitar la corriente que fluye por la lámpara y proporcionar a la misma los parámetros de trabajo dentro de los límites establecidos en las normas y con las menores pérdidas posibles.

Los balastos convencionales se componen de un núcleo de hierro rodeado con hilo de cobre. Funcionan como una inductancia y, como consumidor adicional, generan unas pérdidas importantes y una cantidad de calor considerable.Para el arranque de las lámparas fluorescentes se necesitan cebadores que suministran impulsos de tensión suficientemente altos como para activar la descarga y, por tanto, el encendido.Las lámparas de descarga a alta presión (p.e. halogenuros metálicos) necesitan una tensión muy superior a la de la red para iniciar la corriente de arco de la lámpara. Por tanto, se precisa incluir en el equipo auxiliar un dispositivo denominado arrancador que proporcione y soporte, en el instante del encendido de la lámpara, la alta tensión necesaria para el cebado de la corriente de arco.Cuando el balasto es electromagnético (convencional), asociado al mismo deberán preverse los elementos adecuados para la corrección del factor de potencia (condensadores).

Los balastos electrónicos cumplen su tarea de limitar la corriente y, al mismo tiempo, efectúan las funciones de los arrancadores y condensadores de compensación del factor de potencia. Convierten la tensión de red de 230V/50Hz en la tensión de alta frecuencia de 25 a 40 KHz lo que disminuye considerablemente el consumo de energía de las lámparas asociadas. Por ejemplo, el consumo total de una lámpara fluorescente de 58 W funcionando con balasto electromagnético es de 71 W, mientras que el consumo del sistema lámpara más balasto electrónico es de 55 W. O sea, el consumo total del sistema lámpara + balasto es, en el caso del balasto electrónico, un 23% inferior al del sistema convencional.

El funcionamiento en alta frecuencia de los balastos electrónicos, además del ahorro energético, tiene otras ventajas importantes:• Alarga la vida útil de las lámparas hasta un 50%• Aumenta la calidad y el confort visual• Proporciona un encendido instantáneo libre de parpadeos• No hay efecto estroboscópico en órganos en movimiento• Garantiza seguridad y fiabilidad de funcionamiento por menor calentamiento y apagado automático de las lámparas defectuosas (protección contra incendios).

Ballast

All discharge lamps, including the fluorescent ones, have in common a negative impedance, implying that the intensity of the current provided, for a constant voltage, increases until the lamp destruction.For this reason, a ballast must be installed to restrict the current flowing through the lamp, assuring the correct working parameters under the limits established in the norms and, also, with the less possible losses.

Conventional ballasts are constituted by the magnetic core which accumulated the steel (iron) plate and the winding using copper wire. They work like an inductance and, being an additional consumer, they generate important losses and considerable heat.For the start-up of fluorescent lamps starters are needed to supply the high voltage impulses to activate the discharge and therefore, the beginning of lighting. High-pressure discharge lamps (e.g. metal halides) need a much higher voltage than the mains to activate the lamp arc current. Thus, a mechanism known as ignitor has to be included in the auxiliary gear giving and bearing the high voltage needed to feed the arc current, when the lamp is switched on.With electromagnetic (conventional) ballasts, the suitable components for power factor compensation (capacitors) shall be previewed.

Electronic ballasts accomplish their task to limit the current and also work as starters (or ignitors) and capacitors to compensate the power factor. They convert the mains voltage (230V/50Hz) into high-frequency voltage (from 25 to 40 KHz), which considerably decreases the energy consumption of the related lamps.For instance, a 58 W fluorescent lamp total consumption, working with an electromagnetic ballast, is 71 W, whereas the consumption for a lamp system with an electronic ballast is 55 W. In other words, the total consumption of the system lamp + ballast is, in the electronic system, 23% lower than the standard system.

High-frequency electronic ballasts save energy, but they also have important advantages:

• 50% longer (expected) lamp life• Quality and visual comfort increase • Instantaneous start-up and lighting without flickering• No stroboscopic effect on moving organs • Safe and reliable lighting since there is less heating dissipation and faulty lamps turn automatically off (fire protection).

Todas las luminarias cumplen con las directivas comunitarias a las que están sujetas

los productos de iluminación y van marcadas con el logotipo CE.

Todos los productos incluidos en el catálogo son artículos estándar que han sido

certificados y homologados por el laboratorio ITACA de Valencia.

Los artículos especiales, a fabricar previa demanda, son variaciones de los artículos

estándar, hecho que puede implicar la supresión de las marcas de aprobación y del

número de tipo. En cualquier caso, se fabrican bajo cumplimiento de las directivas

comunitarias aplicables y siguen un estricto control de calidad avalado por la certi-

ficación ISO 9001 y por la ISO 14001, que ratifica la garantía del sistema de gestión

ambiental de LEDS-C4

En las luminarias en las que no se incluye el transformador o equipo de funcionamiento

necesario, si éste no se solicita y suministra junto con la luminaria, ésta no estará

sometida a la “Directiva de Compatibilidad Electromagnética (EMC)” y la responsa-

bilidad final en cuanto a su cumplimiento recae en el instalador.

A menos que se especifique lo contrario, las lámparas no se suministran junto con la

luminaria.
