U21 Premier 1 Hurling Quarter Final Valley Rovers U21 hurlers took on Blackrock in the P1 U21 hurling Quarter final. There was a lively start with Valley Rovers having a goal chance in the first minute which they failed to take and from the resulting clearance Blackrock scored a goal. The Rovers responded with the next two points from Chris O’Leary & Rory O’Sullivan. Blackrock then took over for the next 15 minutes racing into a 2-6 to 3 points lead. On the 25th minute Rory O’Sullivan struck for an opportunist goal. Valley Rovers went in at half time down 1-4 to 2-7. The first 10 minutes of the second half were very even before 17 year old Adam Kenneally picked up a ball on the 65 yard line before setting off on a mazy run before finishing the ball to the back of the net for an inspirational score. Rory O’Sullivan & Pa Hurley added points before Blackrock hit back with two of their own. With 10 minutes remaining Blackrock lead by four points. With Chris O’Leary thundering into the game scoring 6 points in the last 10 minutes. Blackrock just about did enough to keep ahead as Valley Rovers just came up short with Blackrock winning 2-16 to 2-14. Team:
Eoin Burke, Aidan Sheehan, Shane O’Leary, Mark O’Leary,
Sean O’Regan, William Hurley, Gary Deane, Aaron Lyons, Colm Butler,
Adam Kenneally, Chris O’Leary, Rory O’Sullivan, Dan Sweetnam, Adam Settini, Pa Hurley.
Subs: Misko Savic for Adam Settini & Darragh O’Shea for Dan Sweetnam. Scores: Chris O’Leary (0-11 (10 f)), Rory O’Sullivan (1-2), Adam Kenneally (1-0) & Pa Hurley (0-1).

FE 15 P2 Football County Final Valley Rovers v Eire Og on Saturday the 17th of
November 2018.
Last Saturday our under 15s played Eire Og in the much
anticipated P2 Football County Final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
The first half saw the best of the football - both sides
totaling some 16 good scores. Eire Og got the first point
of the match, however that was followed by three well
taken points by Ciarán McCarthy, Sean Egan and Ben
Humphreys. Eire Og then got two points both from frees
which were answered by another good point from the
boot of Ben Humphries. With fifteen minutes remaining
of the first half, Eire Og took command of the game
scoring first a goal (19th minute) followed by three
points and a further goal without reply. It was the half
that kept on giving with Valley Rovers having time to add
two points of their own to the scoreboard, a great point
from play by Adam Casey followed by a pointed free
from Ciarán McCarthy. However, Eire Og weren’t quite
ready for the break yet and added two more points to
their score leaving the half time score Eire Og 2-8 to
Valley Rovers 0-6.
The second half saw Valleys playing with the wind but it
was Eire Og who managed to open their second half
account by a further two points on the trot. Valley
Rovers got a point courtesy of a free. Valleys
continued to work hard pushing up throughout the
second half, however, a goal score by Ciarán
McCarthy from a free and a point from the boot of
the hardworking Sean Egan wasn’t enough on the
day as Eire Og had added two more points before
the end of the match to scoop the coveted prize. The
full-time score was Eire Og 2-12 to Valley Rovers 1-9.
