Monitors Processor/Chassis Fan Speed and Failure Alarm

The system board is able to detect the fan speed (RPM-Revolution

Per Minute) and alerts you to attend to any irregularity that maydamage your system.

Monitors Power Voltages and Failure Alarm

The system board is able to detect the output voltage of the powersupply. An alarm will sound warning you of voltage irregularity.

Automatic Fan Off

The CPU fan will automatically turn off once the system enters theSuspend mode. This prevents system overheat and prolongs fan life.

Dual Function Power ButtonDepending on the setting in the BIOS setup, this switch will allowyour system to enter the Soft-Off or Suspend mode.

External Modem Ring-onThe Modem Ring-on feature allows the system that is in theSuspend mode or Soft Power Off mode to wake-up/power-on torespond to incoming calls. This feature supports external modemonly.

RTC Timer to Power-on the SystemThe RTC installed on the system board allows your system toautomatically power-on on the set date and time.

Wake-On-LAN ReadyThe Wake-On-LAN function allows the network to remotely wakeup a Soft Power Down (Soft-Off) PC. Your LAN card must supportthe remote wakeup function.

Important:

The 5VSB power source of your power supply must support720mA (minimum).

Wake-On-Keyboard/Wake-On-MouseThis function allows you to use the keyboard or mouse to power-onthe system. Refer to sections 2.5 (chapter 2) and 3.9 (chapter 3) formore information.

2. If you are using a 66MHz FSB processor, the options are Default,66MHz, 75MHz and 83MHz. If you are using a 100MHz FSBprocessor, the options are Default, 83MHz, 100MHz, 103MHz,

112MHz and 124MHz. Regardless of the type of processor used,the default setting is Default. Under this setting, the system willrun at 66MHz or 100MHz depending on the processors clockfrequency. If you selected an option other than Default and isunable to boot up the system, there are 2 methods of goingback to its default setting.

Method 1: Clear the CMOS data by following the procedure insection 2.3 (chapter 2) of this manual. The fields in the BIOSSetup will automatically be set to its default settings.

Method 2: Press the key and Power buttonsimultaneously until the power-on screen appears. This will allowthe system to boot according to the FSB of the processor. Nowpress the key to enter the Award BIOS setup utility.Select Chipset Features Setup and set the CPU ClockFrequency field to Default or a suitable clock frequency.

Use the Setupdefault values as standard values for your system.

3.12 Setting the Supervisor/User Password

If you want to protect your system and the setup utility fromunauthorized entry, set a password in the Supervisor Password

field. If you want a user to have access only to your system but notto setup, set a password in the User Password field. Use thearrow keys to highlight the Supervisor Password or UserPassword field and press . The message below will appear.

When the BIOS encounters an error that requires the user tocorrect something, either a beep code will sound or a message willbe displayed in a box in the middle of the screen and the message,PRESS F1 TO CONTINUE, CTRL-ALT-ESC or DEL TO ENTERSETUP, will be shown in the information box at the bottom. A.1 POST Beep / Pip de POST / Akustisches POST-SignalThere are two kinds of beep codes in the BIOS. One code indicatesthat a video error has occured and the BIOS cannot initialize thevideo screen to display any additional information. This beep codeconsists of a single long beep followed by three short beeps. Theother code indicates that a DRAM error has occured. This beepcode consists of a single long beep.

The CMOS battery is no longer functional. It should be replaced.

manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to thebattery manufacturers instructions.

CMOS CHECKSUM ERROR

Checksum of CMOS is incorrect. This can indicate that CMOS hasbecome corrupt. This error may have been caused by a weakbattery. Check the battery and replace if necessary.

DISPLAY SWITCH IS SET INCORRECTLY

The display switch on the motherboard can be set to eithermonochrome or color. This indicates the switch is set to a different
