Poem 4: All My Great Excuses (Level 2)Genre : Quatrain

All My Great Excusesby Kenn Nesbitt

I started on my homework,But my pen ran out of inkMy hamster ate my homeworkMy computers on the blink

I tripped and dropped my homeworkIn the soup my mom was cookingMy brother flushed it down the toiletWhen I wasnt looking

My mother ran my homeworkthrough the washer and the dryerAn airplane crashed into our house..My homework caught on fire

Tornadoes blew my notes awayVolcanoes rocked our townMy books were taken hostageBy an evil clown

Some aliens abducted meI had a shark attackA pirate swiped my homeworkAnd refused to give it back

I worked on these excusesSo darned long my teacher said,I think youll find its easier to do the work instead.
