Nel nome un destino.

Qualche volta, dietro una grande storia, c’è solo il caso.

O forse, tutto era già scritto nel destino.

La storia di Riva inizia con un fortunale sulle rive del

Lago d’Iseo. È il 1842 e molte imbarcazioni rimangono

danneggiate in modo quasi irreparabile. Per fortuna,

o per destino, un abile maestro d’ascia si è appena

trasferito da Laglio sul lago di Como. Il suo nome è Pietro

Riva e a Sarnico riesce a compiere quasi un miracolo.

Dalle riparazioni ben presto passa alle costruzioni: barche

perfette, come non se ne erano mai viste. Il cantiere

prospera e il figlio Ernesto ne assume la direzione

affiancando l’innovazione tecnologica alla lavorazione

artigianale. Montando i motori a scoppio sulle barche,

costruisce grandi battelli per merci e passeggeri.

Serafino Riva, terza generazione, sposta la produzione

sulla motonautica. Un’intuizione che segna la storia. I

motoscafi da corsa Riva negli anni ’20 e ’30 collezionano

record e vittorie nazionali e internazionali. Negli anni ’50,

con a capo Carlo Riva, il marchio diventa nella nautica da

diporto sinonimo di eleganza, di status, di perfezione.

Destiny written in the name.

Sometimes amazing stories arise from chance alone.

Or maybe, it was all predetermined by fate.

The story of Riva begins with a storm on the shores

of Lake Iseo. It was 1842 and numerous boats were

damaged almost irreparably. As luck, or fate, would have

it, however, a skilled carpenter had a just moved from

Laglio to Lake Como. His name was Pietro Riva and, in

Sarnico, he achieved what many consider to be a miracle.

From repairing boats, he quickly moved on to building

them: perfect boats, the likes of which had never been

seen. His shipyard prospered and his son, Ernesto, later

took over his father’s company, combining technological

innovation with artisan craftsmanship. Installing

internal combustion engines on the boats, he began

to build large cargo and passenger vessels. Serafino

Riva, who represented the company’s third generation,

oriented the company’s production towards the field of

speedboats. As it turned out, his intuition made history.

Riva speedboats of the 20’s and 30’s achieved numerous

records and won various national and international

championships. During the 50’s, with Carlo Riva at the

helm, the company brand became synonymous with

elegance, status and perfection in the field of yachting.

shipyards in the world. An invaluable and fascinating

archives meticulously catalogue four typologies of

occupandosi di migliorare sempre più la gamma dei

modelli e proporre nuovi progetti.

Riva dates back nearly a quarter of a century. The studio,

founded by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, works

in close synergy with the shipyard’s technical offi ce to

constantly improve the entire range of models and to

propose new projects.
