Work History:

23 Aug 2000 and still Current - U.S. Navy Reserve LS (Logistics Specialist)

As an LS on board, I worked as an LSR (Logistic Support Representative), the tactical “nerve center” of the base. Using a wide variety of assets available to me, responsible for the organized collection, processing, display, competent evaluation and rapid dissemination of pertinent tactical logistic information to command and ships in the area, upon which sound tactical decisions were made. As an LSR, I successfully conducted port operations with phenomenal expertise in working with husbanding agents. In addition, I successfully conducted moving approximately 130,000 lbs of cargo every month, coordinating transportation for both cargo and PAX (personnel), and routing 85,000 lbs of fleet mail from and to ships. Also, I handled critical equipment parts (CASREPS), official and registered mail with prompt delivery to the 6th fleet command. As an LSR had a huge responsibility, maintained displays of strategic and tactical

information including various plotting boards and tables depicting position and movement of submarines and ships that needed to be serviced and replenished. I interpreted and evaluated presentations and tactical situations and made recommendations to the Commanding Officer (CO) or SUPPO (supply officer), and or any commissioned officer surrogate during replenishment operations and weather conditions. I applied a thorough knowledge of doctrine and procedures applicable to supply and replenishment operations contained in U.S. Navy Instructions and Publications, dealing with part numbers, nomenclature, procurement, availability, etc. On my last assignment as Postal Operations, I was COPE (custodian of postal effects) and NCOIC responsible for all monies, sensitive equipment, audits, bank deposits, personnel supervision and facility.

02 Jun 2003 – 14 Mar 2010 Fine Line, Inc. System implementation/CAD (computer aided design) specialist/Administrative/manage in-house systems

This was a position that transitioned into a multi-task experiences that benefited both me and the company. When I came on board Fine Line, all processes were done manually and in an old fashion way. Using my previous experience in SDLC (systems life cycle development) and RAD (rapid and agile development), processes and implementation, within days after my arrival, I put in a suggestion to the CEO, CFO and DOO that automation was needed to better the current processes, speed up production, save money, satisfy existing customers and attract more business. My sale’s pitch sold and the company invested $310,000 in equipment that improved production and quality by 60%. For this, I was given a bonus of $1,000 within my third month of employment. As a CAD specialist, using my graphics expertise, digitized and graded components of garments created by designers, a task that require attention to detail and exact-to-the-inch measurements. As Administrative, collaborated with DOO, pre-production and production managers to determine dead lines and keep records of styles, fabrics, costs, shrinkages, contractors and vendors. As an MIS (manage-in-house system), a task that was outsourced to an IT firm, but later handled internally; I was given the opportunity to maintain computers, plotters, printers, and information systems that involved equipment maintenance, software updates, Microsoft programs, Photoshop, company’s Website, email account set ups, troubleshooting, Network maintenance and training of personnel in information security, ethics, data integrity, cyber threats, vulnerabilities, risk management and assisted in updating end-user policies. These last positions persuaded me into going back to school and obtain a BS in Business Information Systems and Systems Security. This is where I am at the moment, eager to learn a new concept and become an expert at it. After this, I want to pursue a degree in Network and Programming.

06 Mar 2000 – 07 Apr 2003 Tadashi – System implementation/CAD (computer aided design) operator +

Originally hired as a consultant and later hired for a permanent position. Up on my arrival, I was tasked with taking the company to full automation by implementing a new

and state-of-the-art CAD information system called Tukatech. This position involved training, maintaining and operating software to produce styles graded into the different sizes. I later masterminded the implementation of a $230,000 automatic cutting machine that saved Tadashi thousands of dollars, cut production time in half and improved quality by 40%, a successful implementation that resulted in an award of $2,000 bonus on my pay check.

12 Oct 1992 – 28 Feb 2000 A. Gold E. – System implementation/CAD Supervisor/Supply

In this supervisory position, I was given the task to operate a brand new computer system and equipment. I managed 9 CAD (computed aided design) work stations and 10 personnel. I assisted the Production department by providing dead lines and WIP (work in process) statistics from our pre-production department that assisted them in projecting shipping and delivery time to retail stores. I implemented an allocation system easy to use that enabled my team to quickly provide information to dash-board managers on costing, shrinkages and status of styles in production. I worked hand in hand and was part of decision making process with designers, production managers and DOO (director of operations). Also, I maintained supplies for design and pre-production departments by inventorying, ordering and distribution of all supplies.

02 May 1988 – 05 Oct 1992 AM Casuals– System implementation/CAD Supervisor/Supply

Am Casuals was the cornerstone for my success and introduction to systems implementation. Hired as a manual grader and marker in a fast pace clothing Manufacturer Company that produced 32 patters/styles per month. As computer systems were evolving and becoming available to the public, Am Casual seized the opportunity to go automated and purchased one of the first Computer Information Systems for the fashion industry called Microdynamics that ran on DOS (disk operating system). Windows was not yet available. I became fascinated with computer systems and hardware.

I was part of a program development system called Optitex for the apparel industry in 1999, a software developer that was developing software for pattern making, design, costing, and pattern grading and marking. Already working for the industry and having a vast experience in pattern making, grading and marking on previous CAD/CAM systems made me a candidate to participate in such new development by assisting the software

engineers write codes and programming. My exact to-the-inch accuracy algorithms importance suggestions allowed developers to leave no room for errors. For example: A real case scenario, developers were writing codes for an app called segment or line. This app was going to be among with many other apps in the main menu of an specific module. The segment/line app was to be used to measure lines on garment peace, e.g., shoulder line, center back, sleeve length, etc. The app was created, we ran a test on a pattern peace, plotted it out on a 72-inch Algotex plotter, and then measured the segments for accuracy and codes in algorithms. Turned out, the segments were 1/32 of an inch off. We calibrated plotter and plotter was okay. I advised developers that 1/32 or even a 1/64 of an inch was a big deal because when you grade up and down that pattern peace for example” XXS to 3XL, that 1/32 of an inch was going to become ¼ of an inch. This was a huge problem in massive size numbers 28 to 52 in military uniforms and any other etc. My expertise and suggestions were taken into consideration and now Optitex along with other people involvement, expertise and experience in the field made Optitex come ahead other CAD systems. I can bank on this. To conclude, I have also been part of software and hardware implementation by analyzing and making suggestions needed for cost effectiveness, end-user training and equipment maintenance.
