November 2011 Siemens in Serbia In fiscal 2011 (October 1, 2010 – September 30, 2011), Siemens’ sales to customers in Serbia amounted to more than EUR 78 milli on and new orders totaled approximately EUR 109.7 million. Siemens currently has almost 600 employees in Serbia. Investments of EUR 24 million for the production of a new type of generator for wind turbines in the Siemens factory in Subotica are planned over the next two years. The company also announced plans to increase its workforce by 150 employees in the next two years. The operation of the Siemens Subotica factory plays a significant role in the development of the local economy. Thanks to its specific production portfolio, it has earned Siemens Serbia a respectable place among the top ten exporters in Serbia. Siemens has been active in Serbia in different areas for 125 years. Siemens offers a wide range of solutions and services in Serbia, where its Industry, Energy and Healthcare Sectors occupy leading positions. In fiscal 2011, Siemens Serbia scored major successes in all three Sectors: Industry Sector Siemens is a world leader in green technologies; its large drives plant in Subotica is the most significant domestic producer of the electrical machines and transducers used in the area of renewable energy sources. Every month, the 500 Siemens employees in the Subotica factory produce around 150 generators for wind turbines.
