    Ngiyaxwayisa ukuthi konke okumunyethwe lugwadlana lolu kugxile emfundisweni lemisweni zesikristu njalo kulungiselwe ukufundisa amalunga ebandla lase Methodist Church in Zimbabwe. Kungenzeka ukuthi lokhu okulapha akwamkeleki ngamanye amabadla kodwa injongo yakho ngeyokuthi lo ozafunda lolugwadlana athole impendulo kwezinye inkinga zalamuhla.

    UJohn Wesely waqalela abalandeli bakhe impilo ephezulu kakhulu endebeni zokukhonza, lokuhlalisana lezomnotho. Ugwadlana lolu olweviki yesikhumbuzo sikaWesley luqonde ukubisela ababebandla leMCZ empilweni eyayiphilwa ngesiskhathi sikaWesley ikakhulu ukuthi babone ukuthi waqondana njani lenkinga zesikhathi sakhe ukuze labo babone abangakwenza ngezabo enkinga.

Sokungathi uMoya OngCwele angasihola njalo asambulele lokhu afisa sibekwazi ekufundeni lolugwadlana njalo siphuma lendlela esingazenza ezigabeni zethu ekulwisaneni lenkinga esikhalane lazo.

Uma singangabantwana bakaNkulunkulu abamphilelayo kumele simthembe impilo yethu yonke. Kwesinye isikhathi kasiboni amandla kanye lempendulo kaNkulunkulu ngenxa yokuthi siyamcela kodwa singaze samelela impendulo besesihamba sikhonona ngesimo sethu; kakusikho kumethemba uNkulunkulu lokhu!!

    Amahubo 37 v 5 iyasikhuthaza ukuthi sinikele konke kuNkulunkulu, lokhu kutsho ukuthi singazisindisi lokuzihlupha sizama ukudinga impendulo kunhlupho zethu kodwa sinikele konke kuNkulunkulu. Kumele sitshiyele uNkulunkulu inhlupho zonke yena ngokukhalipha kwakhe uzazesula ngendlela ezamthokozisa yena njalo. Kumele silandele ukukhalipha kwakhe hatshi ukubamba izinto ngawethu amandla. UNKulunkulu uyavikela isimilo sethu ngokusikhipha phakathi kwengxakangxaka zethu hatshi ngendlela emnene kuphela kodwa langendlela esitshiya sihlonipheka.

    Nanzelela: Kuyintando kaNkulunkulu ukuthi siphile impilo egcwele ngokwecebo lakhe. Ngakhoke siyanxuselwa ukunikela izinqumo zethu,

    IMIBHALO: IMISEBENZI 2 VS 42 – 47 Imfihlo ekuphileni lekugcwaleni kwamaMethodist kwabasekuqoqeni abantu ukubasemaqenjeni ukuthi basizakale. Indlela yamahamente kungelamibuzo yabayindlela ebalulekileyo eyakhulisa isiwisili emoyeni lakunani kusukela ekuvulweni kwayo. Kwabakula amahamente okokuthi umuntu owayesephendukile wayencediswa ukuthi akhule kanjani ekukholweni ukuze ubudlelwano bakhe lokristu bumsebenzele insuku zonke.

    Kulemithetho eyayiyinsika yamahamente njalo kwakungumlando wabakhokheli ukuthi babone ukuthi umuntu wonke uyalandela imithetho le. Yile imithetho yakhona; ungalimazi, yenza okuhle, ngena inkonzo zonke kusitsho ukuthi inkonzo yomuntu wonke, inkonzo yelizwi, inkonzo yesidlo seNkosi, imithandazo yomunye lomunye lemithandazo yemuli, ukuhlola imibhalo lokuzila ukudla lokuzithinta. UWesley waqinisa ukuthi ehamenteni abantu kumele “bacetshiswe kumbe ukukhuthazwa, ingxhatshano ziyelungisiswa njalo ukungazwisisani kuyesuswa. Ngemva kwehola kumbe amahola amabili belungisisana ngothando babevala ngomthandazo langokubonga”. Emahamenteni abakhonzi babefundiswa ukupha iviki ngeviki ikakhulu ukupha abampofu. Kulapho wonke umuntu wayephendula umbuzo othi “Kunjani emoyeni? (kusitsho ukuthi – Bunjani ubudlelwano bakho loKristu okwaleso sikhathi?)”. Amahamente eMethodist akuqala kwakungasindawo zokufunda iBhaiybhili nje kumbe indawo zokwazisana imibiko. Injongo yawo kwakuyikusiza ilunga ukuthi likhule ekwazini uJesu Kristu njalo lifunde ukunikela impiloyalo yonke ekuphileleni lekusebenzeleni uKristu. Amalunga amahamente babeselusana ngothando njalo babe kholelwa ukuthi impilo yesikristu luhambo lokukhuliswa ngomusa kumbe ukuncgweliswa umuntu ayengeke akuzuze eyedwa.

    Ihamente yaba yinsika eqinileyo yesiWisili sokuqala eyenza ukuba umuntu wonke benamathele enhlanganisweni le, lokuthi abantu benze imizamo yonke ukuthi bangahlukani lomusa ababewuthenjiswe nguNkulunkulu njalo bebona ukuthi abekekho okhohlakeleyo kumbe oseleyo.

  • Njengebandla laseZimbabwe lakulezinsuku singeke senze konke njengokwenzakala kwakho ngesikhathi saboJohn Wesley kodwa singafunda okunengi esingakusebenzisa lathi emandleni ethu.     INDIKIMBA: ZIHLOMISE UKZE UMELANE LOMUBI

    IMIBHALO: ABASEEFESU 6 VS 13 – 17

    Impilo izakutshengisa izehlekalo ezehlukeneyo. Uzakwehlelwa yizehlakalo ezinhle lezimbi empilweni yinye. Sizahlangana lemiqanso lemehlo etshiyeni phakathi kohambo lwempilo. Empilweni yomkristu, kulensuku ezinhle ezokuthula, intokozo, inzuzo lokusiliswa. Kukhona njalo insuku ezimbi ezokwaliwa, lokulingwa, lokugula lokulahlekelwa losizi lokunenginengi okuzwisa abantu ubuhlungu empilweni zabo. Kuphakathi kwelezinsuku ezimbi lapho uSathane asizingela khona ukuthi athole ithuba lokusincindezela asehlukanise loNkulunkulu.

    Isikristu yimpi enzima loSatane ndawonye lezinye izitha ezifisa ukusahlukanisa loNkulunkulu. Labo aphila impilo yesikristu esiqotho benqoba izilingo sonke isikhathi kabakwenzi ngawabo amandla. Amandla kaMoya lesibindi sakhe kuyizikhali eziqakathekileyo kule impi. Isibindi somuntu silobugwala phakathi njalo lamandla omuntu alobuthakathaka phakathi, kodwa amandla omkristu avela kuNkulunkulu. Amakristu kumele azilungiselele lenzinsuku ezimbi ngokuhloma izikhali zikaNkulunkulu (AbaseEfesu 6 vs 14 – 18).

    Impi le kayiyo yomuntu kumbe ukulwa lobuthakathaka babantu kodwa yimpi yokulwa loSathane olamandla okwenzisa yonke into ayithandayo ngaphansi kwelanga ngaphandle kwalabo abakaKristu. Isikhali ongelaso esikristwini sakho yiyo ebayintuba esetshenziswa nguSathane ukukususa emuseni kaNkulunkulu. Qaphela ukuthi uthwele zonke izikhali njengokuloba kukaPawuli ukuze unganqotshwa yisitha uSathane kodwa usebenzise izipho zonke owaziphiwa ngomusa. Hloma ke zonke izikhali zikaMoya ukuze isitha singabi ngitsho lathuba elincinyane lokukufinyelela. Singayekethisi ngitsho lasikhali sinye kodwa hloma ngokupheleleyo, ume ngesibindi, ubambelele kuJesu Kristu njalo ungozeli empini. Sebenzisa izikhali zonke olazo ukze unqobe inkinga zonke okhangelane lazo. Ukunqoba konke kungokwakho ngoba uJesu wanqoba uSathane esiophambanweni.

    INDIKIMBA: UNGABI YINTO YALUTHO KODWA UKRISTU

    ABEYIKHO KONKE KUWE!

    Incwadi eyabhalwa ngubaba uJohn Wesley ebhalela obaba ababekhokhela iMethodist eAmerica. KuFrancis Asbury LONDON, September 20, 1788.

    [KUWE MFOWETHU]…… kulomehluko omkhulu kakhulu eAmerica lapho okhona lakwamanye amaMethodist lapha engikhona. Ngingaphansi kukaNkulunkulu onguyise wemuli yonke ngakhoke akula muntu ongakunakekela njengami. Ngakhoke ngedlulisele kuwe yonke inzuzo engangiyiphiwa nguDr Coke ukuthi aqubeke ekuncedisa emsebenzini.

    Kodwa kukhona okungangiphathiyo okwenza ukuthi wena lo Dr. Coke lehlukane lami. Ngafunda ukuthi nginciphe kodwa lina liyakhukhumala. Ngiyakhasa kodwa lina liyajigima. Ngakha isikolo kodwa lina lakha ikolitshi [Cokesbury College, yathunyezwa ibizo ngabayiqalayo, uDr Coke lo Francis Asbury, yake yatshiswa kabili] beseliyibiza ngamagama enu!! Maye qaphelani, lingadingi udumo! Mangingabi yilutho, kodwa uKristu abeyiyo yonke into kimi!!

    Lobubukhulu benu buyangethusa kakhulu mina. Wakwenjani lokhu ukuthi uzibize ngokuthi unguBishop? Wawungenwe yini sibili emkhumbulweni? Abantu bangangibiza ngamabizo wonke kuhlanganisela ukuthi siphukuphuku kodwa ngeke ngibavumele ukuthi bangibize ngokuthi Bishop! Ngiyakuncenga mfowethu ngenxa kaNkulunkulu loJesu Kristu tshiyanalakho kokuphela lokhu. Ungenzi izinto zamaPresbyterians, bekele benze okwabo kodwa lawe uyekele amaMethodist bazi ubizo lwabo ngokugcweleyo.

    Yikhoke, mfowethu Frank, sengikwazisile ebekusenhliziyweni yami. Ngithanda ukuthi loba sengidlule kulomhlaba lincwadi ibe yibufakazi bokuthi ngikhulume lawe ngobuqotho. Yimi umngane lomfowenu okuthandayo

    UWesley nguye ubaba wabantu okuthiwa ngamaMethodist. NgoLwezi 1740 usazisa ukuthi wathatha inpahla ezazibuye lomngane wakhe wazabela abampofu ebandleni laseLondon. Kwenziwa amalungiselelo wokuthi enyangeni ezine ezalandelayo kwenziwa amalembu lewulu ebandleni laseFoundry. Kwathathwa omama abalitshumi lambili kwabampofu ukuthi basebenze bazizuzele ukuphila khona. NgoNkwenkwezi womnyaka awalandelayo, uWesley wacela ezinye impahla lokuthi ebandleni kwenziwe umnikelo wepeni viki inye ngayinye. Wayelesifiso sokuqhatsha omama bonke ababengasebenzi ukuthi bazokweluka ukuze bazitholele inzuzo loba yayinganengi. Lokhu ababekhalaza ngakho ngaphezu kweholo labo babekwenzelwa. Kulabalitshumi lambili ababelomsebenzi wokuyahlola imisebenzi eyayisenziwa lokwethekelela abagulayo ngemva kwensuku ezimbili. Ngomnyaka ka1743 idolobho laseLondon lase lilamaqembu angamatshumi amabili lantathu ayesethekelelwa ngababili ababezinikele. Kwaba lemvuselelo enkulu kakhulu emoyeni yabantu lasenhlalweni kahle yabantu. Abagulayo labampofu bazizwa bephakamisekile kakhulu ngokunakekelwa.

    Ngomnyaka ka1744 uWesley wathola umnikelo wabampofu owawuzimpondo ezingamatshumi amahlanu, waqala ngokuthengela abampofu izigqoko lezicathulo. Ngemva kwensuku ezilitshumi wazuza njalo omunye umnikelo; wayebhoda ngamahamente ecelela abampofu uncedo. Ngemva kokubhoda kwakhe leminikelo emithathu eyenziwayo bazuza impondo ezingamakhulu amabili okwenza ukuthi abantu abangamakhulu amabili lamatshumi ayisithupha kumbe isikhombisa bazuze impahla. Imizamo efanayo yenziwa kwezinye izigaba. Endaweni yase New Castle abampofu basizwa, kwathi eIreland abafundisi bema emnyango ngemva kwentshumayelo kaWesley bemukela umnikelo wemuli eyayisebunzimeni. Kwesinye isikhathi uWesley wayekhulelwa zinhlupho ayehlangana lazo. Kwathi ngoLwezi 1750 waqala ukuhlolisisa abantu ayeselabo emabhukwini akhe abedinga uncedo kodwa wananzelela

    EBristol, ngoMpandula 1783, uWesley wabuthelela amampondo angamtshumi ayisitshiyangalonye wokusiza abampofu. UWesley wadana kakhulu ngokubona abantu ayebathembile ukuthi banganikela ngamapondo angamatshumi amahlanu ngamunye bona benikela ngamampondo alitshumi ngamunye. Wayehlala ekhangelele ukusiza abampofu abedlula amakhulu amabili ngasikhathi sinye.

    Ukunqoba kwebandla kugxile kukubambana lokukhonza othandweni kwamalunga alo. Amabandla amanengi, lamaqembu emithandazo yangekhaya, lamaqembu emanyano aswela Uthando Lwesikristu kwenze indlu yeNkosi iye yindlu kamoya eqandayo (Spiritual cold rooms). Abantu beza ebandleni belimele kakhulu, belemithwalo lezinyembezi bedinga lapho abangamkeleka khona, bathole lehlombe lokweyama kumbe lomngane abangasomisana. Uhambo lwempilo kwesinye isikhathi luletha ukwesa, ukubandlululwa, luletha ukuthandabuza lokuzizwa silulazakile njengamakholwa. Lokhu kakwenzi ukuthi ilunga libebuthakathaka kodwa kwenza ukuthi ibandla libebuthakathaka ngoba ibutho elilamasotsha ahlukumezekileyo alingeke linqobe. Ukuze ukholo lomuntu luqine umntu udinga ukusekelwa, lobudlelwano lothando lwesikristu. Uthando lwesikristu lupha amathuba lapho abantu bengathwalelana imithwalo, besabelana labake bahlangana lakho phakathi kwaloluhambo njalo bakhule emoyeni.

    Emfundisweni yakhe uJohn Wesley wazama ukusondeza amaMethodist kubandla lakuqala elaqala ngokwabelana yonke into. Phakathi kwemithetho ayelotshwa phansi yiConference ka 1744 kumabandla akhethwayo bathi bona “Ilunga linyengalinye lizanikela liqoqe ndawonye viki ngeviki, [bona fide], konke ayengakufaka esiphaleni sinye”. UWesley wayekholwa ukuthi impumela yothando lwesikristu yikubana ibandla lingabelana izinto zonke ethandweni. Wabafundisa ukuthi ebandleni lakuqala babefuqwa luthando ukuthi balethe izinto zonke zabiwe ndawonye (Imisebenzi 2 vs 42 – 47). Waqhubeka wakhuthaza ukuthi amaMethodist kabe lezakhiwo ababezihlanganyela (Share their property). Lokhu kubambana kuletha ukunqoba njalo kuqakathekile lase bandleni lanamuhlanje. Empendulweni kaEsta kuModekhayi sibona uEsta enxusa amaJuda ukuthi aze ndawonye emthandazweni lasekuzileni ukudla. AmaJuda onke

  • ayeseSusa bazila ukwensuku ezinthathu kuhlanganisela lendlovukazi labayongayo. Sibona amaJuda ebambana ndawonye ngenxa yesehlakalo esasimqoka kibo.

    Abanye abantu beza ebandleni ngoba belesizingu, abanye bayaswela, abanye sebephelelwe, abanye yizihambi, abanye balwa izimpi ngokuthula kuthi abanye bahlengezela izinyembezi. Bonke sibakweleda uthando. Amabandla ethu, inhlanganiso zethu kanye lemanyano yethu kumele kugxile njalo kuphuphume ngothando lwesikristu. Imiduli yethu ingamihle njalo iceciswe kakuhle. Singaba lenhlelo ezinhle okumangalisayo, sibelabafundisi abatshumayela imibiko evathayo kodwa uma singela thando lokubambana siyindlu yemimoya eqandayo nje!!

    INDIKIMBA: UMBONO KAJOHN WESLEY NGONOTHO

    OHLUKULEZEKIELYO Isikhathi okwazalwa ngaso isiWisili sasisaziwa ngezimpi, ukudula kwezinto, isivuno esilutshwana lokudubeka kwabantu. Kwakungela zilimo eziphaleni zokudla kwezinyamazana lokudla kwabantu; yikho intengo yezinto yakhwela kakhulu. Ukuswelakala kwezinto kwahlukuluza kakhulu abampofu ngoba babevele bengela kudla okubeneleyo. Kuphakathi kwalobuhlungu bempilo kubampofu okwazalwakhona isiWisili. uJohn Wesley wayekholwa ukuthi isikristu kumele sibelomutsho ozwakalayo emnothweni wempilo.
