All Saints’ Day, which falls on 1st November is regarded in the West as a festival.

Thanksgiving was first celebrated in 1621. The Pilgrims (早期移民) invited Native Americans (印第安人) for a three-day festival in gratitude for ( 庆祝 ) the successful harvest that followed a hard winter.

Today’s traditional dinner contains turkey, mashed potatoes( 土豆泥 ) and pumpkin Pie (南瓜派) .
