The theory about black holes
What is a black hole?
What is a black hole? If you put enough matter ( 物质 ) in one small place,
it creates a black hole, a gravitational field ( 引力场 ) so intense ( 密集 ) that nothing, not even light, can escape from ( 从……逃脱 ) it.
A black hole is an extremely weird( 神秘的 )object. Its intense gravitational field changes space and time in fundamental ways. Each black hole has only three measurable properties ( 组成部分 ) : mass ( 质量 ), electrical charge ( 电荷 ) and rotational momentum ( 旋转动量 ).
Most astronomers now believe that there is a stupendously huge black hole in the inner core of our galaxy ( 银河系 ), billions of times heavier than the sun. It spins ( 快速旋转 ) in the center of a rotating whirlpool ( 旋转的漩涡 ) of hot gas and dust, slowly sucking ( 吸引 ) it in.
