    PES Institute of Technology (www.pes.edu), Bangaloreoffers a number of high quality educational programs inMBA, MCA and Engineering (both UG & PG).

    Department of MBA, PESIT was established in 1997 andattracts the best talent across the country both in terms ofstudents and faculty. The faculty mix comprises of 8

    Doctorates, FCA, FCS, and FICWA, Alumni from IIMA,IMB, IIMC, IISc and Major IITs. Average experienceTeaching and industry) of Faculty is ten years.

    Business World India's best B-School Survey published onhe 27th June, 2011 ranks PESIT MBA program:-

    nternational Peer Reviewed bi-annual Journal PESBusiness Review.

    VISHLESHANA 2012 is a Case Writing Contest forAcademicians, Practitioners and Research Scholars.

    Cases can be research based, experiential,observational or hypothetical.

    To encourage quality Case Writing in the field ofmanagement across India.

    Every case will be double blind reviewed to select 5best Cases for a cash award.

    Cases that are original and complete in all respects(Camera Ready Print) will be accepted (Along with

    teaching notes).

    1.Title and Authors' Information: The cover page shallcontain the title of the Case, the author's name andaffiliation. This page should have the contact

    information (including name, address, telephone, faxnumber and e-mail address).

    2.Abstract: The title 'Abstract' should be in 14-pt TimesNew Roman and boldface. Place a one and a half spacedblank line between the title 'Abstract', the abstract itselfand the Keywords. The abstract and the keywords are

    to be in 12-pt Times New Roman. The abstract shouldcontain 200 words, be one and a half spaced and fully

    justified.

    FORMAT FOR SUBMISSION

    3.Case: The main text or body of the paper should

    immediately follow the abstract. The main text shouldbe in 12-pt Times New Roman and one and a half-spaced. All text should be fully justified. Case should

    normally be of up to 6,000 words (10-20 A-4 sizepages). The authors' name should not appear anywhereon the body of the Case to facilitate the review process.

    4.Heading and Sub-Heading: All headings should be in14-pt Times New Roman and boldface. Sub-headingsshould be in 12-pt Times New Roman, boldface anditalicized. Place a one and a half spaced blank line

    between each heading, sub-heading and theparagraph. Do not number the heading and the sub-heading. Capitalize the first letter of the noun,

    pronoun, verb, adjective and adverb.

    5.Tables and Figures: Figure and Table captions should bein 10-pt Times New Roman and boldface and should be

    numbered in numerals (Example: Table 1: Text / Figure1: Text). Capitalization requirements for figures andtables are similar to the requirement mentioned for

    headings and subheadings. Figures and tables are to benumbered separately. Both figure and table captionsare to be centered. If any source is being listed, theyshould be given below the table or figure in 9-pt Times

    New Roman (No Boldface).

    6.Footnotes and Endnotes: Footnotes may be used ifnecessary and should be numbered consecutively.

    Endnotes are preferred to be used for explanations orindication to immediate source. Both of them should bein 9-pt Times New Roman and be single spaced.

    7.Page Numbering: Provide page numbers on the rightbottom of the page. Start numbering from the Abstractpage and DO NOT include the cover page for

    numbering.

    8.Italicization and Capitalization: Usage of these, in the

    main-text, should be kept to the minimum and beconsistent throughout

    10. Please Note

    Condition for the contest is that, the Case sent shouldbe original work and should have not been previously

    published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

    Cases, which do not conform to these guidelines, will

    not be considered for participation in the contest.

    The institution reserves the right to use case submittedfor publishing in the future issues of PES Journals.

    Case along with the cover page and the scanned copy ofthe registration form should be electronically submittedto [email protected] on or before 31 May, 2012.

    Present the decision setting and motivate the decisionbeing made.

    Describe the environment (e.g., industry, field,country/culture) in which the case is set, explaining aspectspertinent to the case.

    Describe the organization (e.g., agency, company,institution) in which the case is situated.

    Describe the small group (e.g., department, tribe,neighborhood, subculture) in which the case is situated.

    Describe the individual or small group most directlyresponsible for any actions or decisions relevant to thecase.

    Describe the specific situation to be addressed in anyanalysis of the case that is to be performed.

    Revisit the case situation specifying all constraints (e.g.,time pressure, specific criteria that must be met) andrequirements (e.g., alternatives to be considered orimportant priorities).

    Source documents, images and tables relev ant to the case.
