    Q. 1 (a) The ratio of distance in inches shown on a map to actual distance in miles is1 to 50. If the map distance between two cities is 9 inches, how many milesis it from one city to other? (10)

    (b) The perimeter of a rectangle is 50m. The length is 10m more than the width.Find the length and width of rectangle; also find the area of rectangle. (10)

    Q. 2 (a) The area of a trapezoid is 24 sq. meters. The altitude is 21

    of the lower baseand the lower base is 5 meters longer than the upper base. Write down thestatement in equation form for the problem and determine the length of lower and upper base. (10)

    (b) Find the surface area and volume of a foot ball whose radius is 20cm. (10)

    Q. 3 (a) Find the median, mode and mean of the following marks; 28, 34, 18, 24, 26,30, 35, 33. (10)

    (b) A cone has the height of 5 meters and the radius of the cone is 2 meters. Findthe volume and surface area of the cone. (10)

    13, 57, and 33. Find the variance and standard deviation of the data. (10) (b) A chemist has one solution that is 70% acid (and the rest is water) and

    another solution that is 50% acid. What needed is 300 liters of solution that is60% acid. The chemist will prepare it by mixing two solutions on hand. Howmuch of each should be used? (10)

    Q. 5 (a) Consider a cube. Let the length of its each edge be x meters, so the volumeof the cube is 3 x . Let the increase in volume be 98 3m when the edge isincreased by 3 meters. Find the original length of each side of the cube? (10)
