WE are a TEAM:

Your Community Resource for an Empowered Life

Without support from partners like you, we would not exist. As a nonprot organization, e Women’s Center relies on philanthropic and collaborative support to oer subsidized and free care and resources to our community members in need.

For over forty years, e Women’s Center has provided mental health counseling, support and education to the metropolitan area to help people live healthy, stable and productive lives. We support women, men, teens and children, and serve over 4,500 people annually in Virginia and Washington, DC. In addition, we are instrumental in sustaining mental health professionals in the region, functioning as a training institution for masters and PhD level students, and providing continuing education for licensed therapists.

As the mental health and well-being of employees is a critical component of eective decision-making and a productive workplace, we provide webinars, events and on-site workshops under our Leadership Center program-ming – which also provides awareness of and access to available resources for everyone. Because we know forward-looking companies are turning toward a more comprehensive approach to professional development, e Leadership Center instructors integrate mind, body, heart and spirit. e Center leverages the 540 model as individuals broaden their perspective and expand their leadership agility. As a partner, e Leadership Center will collaborate to tailor programs to specic needs.

e Women’s Center’s mission is to signicantly improve the mental health and well-being of all members of the community through counseling, education, support and advocacy, regardless of their ability to pay. e Center also takes insurance, which helps to subsidize low-fee services. Since 1974, the Center has been a beacon of hope to the tens of thousands who have reached out for help and have been able to improve their lives due to the excellent, aordable, and accessible services.

Success is measured via the Center’s evidence-based methodology to evaluate overall eectiveness and impact on the community. However, the real success of the mental health and domestic violence services provided by the Center is told by the hundreds of women and men who share how e Women’s Center has changed their lives.

We are grateful to all those in our circle of care who reach out, support and/or provide services.
