Summary: In this paper are analysed the particular characteristics of the traffic accidents in which pedestrians were injured in Belgrade in the period 2010-2012. The absolute and relative indicators of traffic accidents from existing databases, using traditional, numerical and graphical software and GIS software tools with digitized maps, are analyzed. The results of analysis have created real opportunities for acceptable design of trends and possible measures for protection of the safety of pedestrians in Belgrade. The paper shows the effects of protection of the pedestrians safety in traffic by additional activities of Secretariat for Transport, Traffic Police and other administrative agencies, which were initiated by previous analyzes and measures projected by the authors of this study.
