8There are 1.1 billion people live on less than US $ 1 per day. For many years the question has been there , how can the poverty be alleviated. How can the hungry be feed. With all the effects to fight poverty, why is it still so prevalent in the world? Many wonder if there is any answer to these questions. Yet wherever we turn, there they are, staring back at us.

You might thought that the poor in developing countries, probably lack of working ethic, they didnt try hard enough, or they should try harder. In reality, these people work incredible hard, they have to. Because if they dont , their babies starve and people die, and life stops.

What the poor lack is the opportunity, they dont lack motivation, they dont lack ability, they need a chance to change. There are 2.5 billions of poor people around the world who have no access to financial services, the market Currently only meets 10% to 20% of the potential demand. The quicker we are able to give them support, the better.

This urgency to help the poor is exactly why Mirofinance was created. The answer to the poverty begin to cover different part of the world. Perhaps not THE solution but A solution. Microfinance is a method of helping the poor to help themselves. An idea is so simple that many were asking why it had not been tried before.

It was not a charity handout or another development program. It is something that we had been reluctant to given in the past credit.Having access to financial capital would allow the poor to start or grow their small businesses. It is not a gift but a loan, to be repaid with formal interest. This sort of service is commonly entitled as Microfinance.

In the business term, Microfinance is retail banking for developing countries to provide financial services for relative poor but economically active people. Access to credit and other financial services, helps people create a more stable and sustainable income situation for themselves.

Today, microfinance organizations across the global give microcredit loans to millions of families in the poors nations, most of the loans go to women, who have proven to be uniquely qualified at growing their businesses. The loan size is usually between 50 and 150 dollars, the recipient use the loan for their small business, then pay it back with competitive interest rate. The profit is invested in health care and education of their families.

The result broke all conventional thinking, not only did these borrowers grow their business and improve their life, but they repay their loans on time. With an average 95% repayment rate which is well above the traditional banks, microfinance institutions would be able to provide those money again to other micro entrepreneurs.

In the following session, we are going to explain the term of Microfinance Intuitions which is also called MFIs.

Les 3 Hoe te beleggen in Microfinanciering?

El SalvadorMevrouw Ana Delmy Initile lening USD 250 Een winkel in zuivelproducten Huidige lening USD 12.000

4444In one of the largest open-air markets in Soyapango, a suburb on the outskirts of San Salvador, Mrs. Ana Delmy owns a stall from which she sells various dairy products, including milk and homemade cheese. Like most stall owners in this busy market, Mrs. Delmy had to work her way up from more modest conditions with the help of a loan from one of San Salvadors many microfinance institutions.

In Mrs. Delmys particular case, having retired from her job as a factory-worker in 2001, she began selling candy and drinks in the streets of San Salvador as a way of complementing her meagre retirement fund. In order to set up the business, Mrs. Delmy contacted Banco de los Trabajadores de El Salvador (BTS), one of the countrys leading microfinance institutions, and whose activities are concentrated in Soyapango, for an initial loan of USD 250.

Thanks to the success of her business, Mrs. Delmy was able to repay her initial loan and each of the subsequent, continually increasing, loans which she received. Within a year, Mrs. Delmy had bought a space in the market and opened her own shop and by September 2007, she was managing over USD 12,000 in loans. Mrs. Delmy has used the loans to buy machinery, and has begun to plan the future expansion of her business.

Meanwhile, Mr. Delmy, Anas husband, has also developed his own business with the help of loans from BTS. As a farmer working with cattle on a small plot of land outside the city limits, Mr. Delmys first loan amounted to a mere 25,000 Colones (USD 3,000) - a very small amount considering the expenses involved in purchasing livestock. However, within a few years and thanks to the successful management of his business, Mr. Delmy was able not only to purchase additional cattle, but also to buy new land, a truck for the transport of his animals and to expand his business to include dairy cows, from which his wife produces the dairy products she sells at the local market.

In addition, Mr. Delmy has recently opened his own stall in Soyapangos open-air market, opposite his wifes, where he now sells meat products, thereby turning his activity into a family business.
