Everyone must have qualified health insurance coverage or pay IRS Tax Penalty

Employer Mandate

50+ Employers will be required to offer their employees qualified health insurance coverage (Delayed until 2015)

Exempt Employers

Employers with fewer than 50 full time employees will be exempt from coverage mandate

Penalties forIndividuals

The greater of a dollar amount or percent of income. In 2014 – $95 or 1%. In 2016 – $695 or 2.5%.
