Countdown to the start of the Olympic Games in Sochi crossed the mark of 300 days.

Currently, there is a need to coordinate the work of the volunteers, the quality of their training in the

status of the Games staff, and at the same time there is a need to stimulate the audience's interest for the Games in order to increase sales of tickets for the competitions.

Why do people engage in volunteer work?

Douglas McGregor, social psychologist: X-Y motivation theory of two fundamental approaches to

managing people. Many managers tend towards theory X, and generally get poor results.

Enlightened managers use theory Y, which produces better performance and results, and allows people to grow and develop.

The training program for Olympic volunteers Sochi 2014

The program is full of game-elements and involving activities. Now the volunteer centers in Russia

continue the selection of volunteers. Accepting applications of candidates is completed and a

training program started. Its first stage is called "My Games", it's an educational intensives in which

coaches teach volunteers in accordance with а single standard including innovative gaming

techniques.

Volunteer program Sochi 2014 is supported and enhanced by an educational web portal, launched in April 2013.

The interaction of the organization with the target consumer through the game concept is reflected in the resources of the London Olympics. Mobile apps and sports video games became one of the key drivers of the summer Games popularity.

How does gamification achieve its magic? Game Mechanics achievement: a representation of having accomplished something;

cascading information theory: information should be released in

the minimum possible snippets to gain the appropriate level of

understanding at each point during a game narrative;

communal discovery: working together to solve a riddle, a problem

or a challenge;

leader-boards: the rankings of all individuals in a micro-set

and many other.
