2. Noterize ($) – allows you to view and annotate any PDF or PowerPoint document, view on projector (via DropBox)
3. iTap RDP ($) – remote connection and control of another computer
4. iThoughtsHD ($) – mind mapping tool (works with DropBox)
5. inkling – search, download and access text books (US based) + highlighting & notes

Support (for Murdoch owned devices only)
• IT Services will setup the device with your credentials and access to wireless, 3G (if purchased) VPN, email, calendar and contacts
• Standard manufacturers warranty: “Every iPad comes with complimentary telephone technical support within 90 days of your iPadpurchase. In addition, your iPad, its rechargeable battery, and all included accessories are covered against defects for one year from the original purchase date by a limited hardware warranty.”
• No other application support from IT Services
• Do not use Murdoch funds to purchase applications or books
Summary
• Very handy portable device that supports a large number of business functions; takes time to learn how to use keyboard
• Good substitute for cheap laptop; cost is comparable to netbook and low-end laptop; there are cheaper eBooks readers
• Good for reading, email , calendar web browsing, although Flash not supported; beware of the limitations!
• Multi-media support excellent
• Applications make it, although not all from PC/MAC
• Little or no printer support
