PARADISE CAVE

History Cave

The cave was discovered in 1963/64.

It is protected as a natural reserve due to the rich stalactite decoration, scientific and educational values.

Paradise cave is also a very interesting archeological site.

Scientists carried out a number of important reaserches there.

The opening of the cave for touristis took place in 1972.

Location Cave

Paradise cave is located in Świętokrzyskie Mountains near Kielce.

It is considered to be the most beautiful cave in Poland.

This cave is also one of the biggest attractions of the region.

Appearance cave The entrance to the cave is located in a pavilion which houses a

ticket office, a cafe and a small museum.

Museum's exhibition presents the geology, history, archaeological and paleontological discoveries by scientists.

Paradise Cave is small-the total lenght of the corridor is 240 meters.

In the cave there is a constant temperature of 9 Celsius degress and the humidity is around 95%.

The formations are well preserved.

The corridors were created during the Devonian Period in Tertiary and Quaternary periods 350 million years ago.

The cave evaluated in tertiary and quaternary.

It was inhabited by Neanderthals. Over the past several thousand years the entrance

to the cave was completely filled with dripstones.

The Cave is close to the tourist route from Chęciny to Kielce.
