WELCOME“Welcome to the second edition of Suna Interior Design magazine. So much has happened in the last year, it’s hard to know where to start, but as an image speaks a thousand words, we’re going to let our pictures do most of the talking...

However, it has to be said that this has been the best year yet for our business, having both broken into the hotel industry, and gained new and exciting projects within property development. Recognising this, we have refreshed our brand and we are proud to reveal our new stylish logo. The design team is ever growing, and as you may have read about on our blog, we’re even going to get the chance to design our own office, with our move down the road later in the year.

Keep up with images and our experience of this hands on design project, along with our client work, and expert advice on trends and tips via our popular blog, on our website, www.sunainteriordesign.com/blog

CAPTuRINGQUIRKYCURRENT TRENDS FOR UNIQUE AND ECLECTIC DESIGN.

We’ve worked with property developers for over ten years, and have seen a real move towards homes that reflect changing popular individual tastes, such as the current trend for a unique and eclectic look.

However eclectic doesn’t mean unconsidered, there is a true skill in knowing how to successfully put together disparate elements and knowing when to stop! The visual excitement caused by mixing patterns, textures and colour, old and new, vintage and modern should be embraced. Quirky and eclectic is the new minimal!

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A JONES TO HAVE A STRONG URGE TO PEEK BEHIND THE CURTAINS TO VIEW THE CHOICES AN INTERIOR DESIGNER MAKES IN THEIR OWN HOME.

Here we have the excitement of seeing exactly how one of the co-directors of Suna Interior Design, Rebecca Tucker, designed her South London family home. Look out for our other director, Helen Fewster’s home, in the next issue.

ELLENHeavy Light by Benjamin HubertI am very excited about Benjamin Hubert’s lighting! Love the different (and quite unique) materials that he uses in his designs, such as cork and concrete.

SHARONCollages by artist David KeepingI love these collages by artist David Keeping – witty, vibrant and bursting with stuff to look at. This is a detail from a HUGE 3D one but he’s currently producing 1m prints – I’m in the queue!

HELEN Jeeves Bowler Hat Table Lamp by Jake PhippsThese table lamps are a perfect combination of stylish design but with a whimsical playfulness.

GABRIELLAThe Lou Read Cat Chair by Philippe Starck I was attracted by its curvy shape and size. The wings remind me of bull’s horns – I’m Taurean. It’s smooth and tactile and incredibly comfortable. I love the humour and quirkiness of Starck’s designs.
