조사에서도 응답자 44％가 카플레이나 안드로이드 오토를 장착한 차량이라면 1499 달러 정도는 더 지불할 용의가 있다고 .

• 자동차 업체는 그동안 카플레이나 안드로이드 오토 채택을 피하고 독자 시스템을 선호했다 . 인포테인먼트가 고객 차량 선택 기준이 되고 장기적으로는 정보와

신기술 얻고 벤처 키우고… 대기업들 ' 스타트업 ' 투자 급증

미국 구글 · 인텔 ·퀄컴 등 대기업들은 대부분 자체 벤처투자회사를 운영하고 있다 .

한국에서도 삼성 , 카카오 등이 이런 흐름에 동참하고 있다 . 기업이 운영하는 VC 는

벤처의 수익 창출보다는 신기술 확보 , 모기업과의 시너지 창출에 집중하는 것이

특징이다 . 미국 하버드대 경영대학원의 조시 러너 (Lerner) 교수는 " 기업 자체의

연구개발 (R&D) 성과에만 의존했다가는 빠르게 변화하는 세계에 적응하기 어렵

다 " 며 " 이런 한계를 극복하기 위한 것이 스타트업 투자 " 라고 말했다 .

대표적인 기업이 세계 최대의 반도체 기업 인텔이다 . 인텔은 1991 년에

인텔캐피털이라는 투자 전문 회사를 설립했다 . 주요 투자처는 자사의 반도체를

탑재하는 스마트 기기 업체다 . 세계 최대의 이륜 전동식 이동장치 업체 나인봇 등

지금까지 800여 곳에 투자했다 . 작년 4 월에는 중국 하드웨어 업계를 겨냥한 1

억달러 (약 1173 억원 ) 규모의 펀드를 따로 만들기도 했다 . 퀄컴 역시 무인기 ( 드

론 ) 업체 3D 로보틱스 , 헬스케어 스타트업 눔 등에 투자했다 .

구글은 2013 년 1 월 사물인터넷 기술 업체 네스트랩스에 8000 만달러를 투자한 데

이어 , 1 년 뒤 이 회사를 완전히 인수했다 . 사물인터넷이란 각종 기기에 통신장치 ·

센서를 부착해 자동으로 작동하거나 스마트폰으로 원격 조종하는 기술을 말한다 .

구글은 네스트랩스의 센서 · 정보 분석 기술을 활용해 사물인터넷 사업을 확장하고

있다 .

미국 벤처캐피털협회 (NVCA) 에 따르면 2011 년 23 억 6500 만달러 수준이던 기업

벤처투자업체의 스타트업 투자는 올해 64 억 500 만달러로 3배 가까이 늘어날

전망이다 . 이는 인수 ·합병 (M&A) 을 제외한 지분 투자만 따진 수치다 .


‘소프트웨어 정의’ 전 비즈니스로 적용 확장


네트워크 분야에서는 네트워크 구성을 유연하게 하고 효율적으로 인프라를 구축하며

운영관리를 단순화하는 SDN( 소프트웨어 정의 네트워킹 ) 이 차세대 네트워크 분야 최대

화두로 부상하고 있다 . 기존 네트워크 장비는 제어부 (Control Plane) 와 데이터 처리부 (Data

Plane) 를 물리적으로 한 장비에 구현했다 .

SDN 은 이 장비에서 제어부를 분리 , 소프트웨어적으로 통합해 제공하는 기술이다 .

개방형 표준인 오픈소스 진영을 중심으로 개발이 이뤄져 기존 시장 지배자 중심의 폐쇄적 .

수직적 시장 구조에서 개방적 . 수평적 구조로 네트워크 시장 패러다임이 바뀌는 계기가 될

것으로 예상된다 . SDN 의 부상은 시스코 등 기존 시장지배자에게 경쟁 심화의 위협이 되고 ,

기술력을 바탕으로한 강소기업 (빅스위치네트웍스 , 니시라 등 ) 의 등장도 가능하게 됐다 .

국내에도 아토리서치 , 나임네트웍스 등 SDN 기술을 기반으로 한 스타트업이 나타나고 있다 .

글로벌 시장조사 기관 IDC 에 따르면 , 전 세계 SDN 시장이 2014 년 9 억 6000 만 달러

규모에서 2018 년에는 80 억 달러 규모로 연평균 89.4% 성장할 전망이다 .

국내 시장은 2014 년 148 억 원에서 2018 년 1527 억 원 규모로 연평균 69.2% 성장할 것이란 예측이다 . 또 SDx 센트럴이 발표한 시장전망 보고서를 보면 ,

2020 년경에는 네트워크 관련 전체 시장의 80% 가 SDN 과 관련한 솔루션이 될 것이다 .

2014 년 가트너는 ‘ 2015 10 대 IT 전략 기술’을 발표하면서 ‘소프트웨어 정의 애플리케이션과 인프라’를 선정했다 . 기업들이 디지털 비즈니스에 필요한 신속한

유연성을 확보하기 위해 애플리케이션에서부터 인프라까지 모든 것에 개발자 / 사용자 / 테스터가 함께 참여해 수시로 수정사항을 민첩하게 개발하는

프로그래밍이 필수적으로 요구될 것으로 전망했다 .

이를 뒷받침하기 위해 소프트웨어로 정의된 네트워킹 , 스토리지 , 보안 , 데이터센터 기술이 성숙단계에 접어들어 이를 가능하게 할 것으로 내다봤다 .

The BOP is responsible for the custody and care of approximately 205,000 Federal offenders. Approximately 81 percent of these inmates are confined in BOP-operated facilities, while the balance is con-fined in secure privately managed or community-based facilities and local jails. Recent advances in unmanned air vehicles have presented a new and evolving threat to the BOP’s mission. From small devices of less than a pound that can provide unauthorized imagery and surveillance to larger systems that can carry 20 or more pounds of contraband, these devices represent a new and unprecedented challenge for BOP personnel. The goal of this Request for Information (RFI) is to col-lect information to identify and assess the landscape of technologies and systems that can assist in the BOP’s mission by countering, mitigating and/or interdicting the impact and possible nefarious intent of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Purpose

The BOP is seeking information to determine whether or not there are qualified sources that will be able to meet the current requirements. The BOP is specifically interested in fully integrated systems that will allow for the detection, tracking, interdiction, engagement and neutralization of small (less the 55 LB total weight) unmanned aerial systems. The applicable integrated system would be capable of:

15. Can the system by upgraded as threats change or evolve? a. How long does it take to upgrade the system? b. What steps are required to upgrade a system?

16. Has your system been used, evaluated or observed by any other federal, state or local government agencies? If so, provide a contact name and contact information (phone number/ email address) and name of government agency.

The BOP may schedule an onsite, follow-up demonstration at BOP headquarters or BOP field site of select systems for vendors to provide more detailed information and display system functionality. If web/virtual conferencing is used for a remote technical discussion, the following solutions would be supported: Cisco WebEx, Citrix GoToMeeting or Adobe Connect.

• Fraud will move to the weakest channel. In 2014, the US generated almost

half of the world’s total card fraud despite only comprising one-quarter of

transactions. That's because the US had the least secure payment card

ecosystem. Once EMV is fully adopted in the US, fraud will move yet again,

this time to online and mobile channels. In 2014, only 42% of fraud came

from digital channels. In 2015, that number grew to 55%, and it's continuing

to expand.

• The disjointed payment experience that EMV provides could inadvertently

increase mobile payment use. Mobile wallets, like Apple Pay, Android Pay,

and Samsung Pay, have suffered from a lag in adoption. However, longer

transaction times and a confusing payment experience with EMV could

push users to equally secure but more convenient mobile platforms

15 일 스타벅스코리아에 따르면 2009 년 출시한 ' 스타벅스 카드 '

이용자는 출시 6 년여 만에 200 만명을 돌파했다 . 총 충전액은 무려

200 억원을 넘어섰다 .

스타벅스코리아 관계자는 "브랜드 로열티를 높이기 위해 업계 최초로

선불식 충전카드를 도입했다 " 며 " 카드를 모바일 애플리케이션

서비스까지 확대하면서 1 년여 만에 회원 수가 2배로 증가한 상황 "

이라고 말했다 . 커피빈 , 폴바셋 등 커피 브랜드는 물론 홈플러스 ,

이마트 , 신세계 등 다른 유통기업들도 충전형 간편결제 서비스를

앞다퉈 출시한 상태다 .

스타벅스 카드 적립액 200 억원은 어지간한 채권형 펀드 설정액과

애플 , 퀄컴의 디스플레이 연구소 인수 ...배경은 ?


애플이 타이완 롱탄에 소재한 디스플레이연구소를 인수했다 . 이 연구소는 그동안 퀄컴이 ‘

미라솔 (Mirasol)’ 이라는 브랜드로 자체 디스플레이를 개발해 오던 곳이다 . 연구 중인

디스플레이는 ‘간섭측정변조디스플레이 (IMOD, Interferometric Modulator Display)’ 로 불린다 .

애플인사이더는 14 일 ( 현지시간 ) 애플이 비밀리에 퀄컴의 저전력 디스플레이 기술개발

연구소를 인수해 기술개발을 진행중이라고 전했다 .

보도에 따르면 애플은 이 연구소에서 자사 제품에 사용될 더 얇고 , 가볍고 , 밝고 ,

에너지효율이 높은 디스플레이 개발 연구를 수행하고 있다 . 이 연구소 직원은 약 50 명이며

이전 퀄컴 연구원은 물론 스카웃한 AU옵트로닉스의 연구원들로 구성돼 있다 .

퀄컴의 IMOD 기술은 거울같은 구성요소를 사용해 특정 컬러빛을 반사한다 . OLED 와

마찬가지로 백라이트가 필요없다 . 스위치 온오프시에만 에너지를 사용한다 . 일단 이미지가

만들어지면 킨들에 사용되는 전자잉크처럼 더 이상 전력을 필요로 하지 않는다 . IMOD 는 또한

전자잉크처럼 직사태양광 아래에서도 LCD 나 OLED 와 달리 선명하게 보인다 .

하지만 이 디스플레이는 전자잉크 스크린 안에서 움직이는 작은 잉크염료 대신 그 안에서

거울처럼 이동하는 ‘마이크로머신’으로 불리는 미세전자기계시스템 (MEMS) 구성요소를

사용한다 . (멤스는 반도체 공정기술을 기반으로 성립되는 마이크론 (㎛ ) 이나 ㎜크기의 초소형

정밀기계 제작기술을 말한다 .)

클수록 사용되는 시스템의 수도 많아지고 충돌의 가능성도 함께

공급업체 등 여러 회사가 시스템을 관리하는 경우 이런 문제는 더욱

What the DHS is looking for is summed up in three

areas it describes as detect, authenticate and up-

date.Detect

• IoT devices may be connected from any location with virtual, networked access to IoT sys-

tems;

• IoT devices may not emit specific signatures and may only operate in “listening modes”;

• IoT devices may be connected only briefly or intermittently, requiring dynamic detection;

• IoT devices may be mobile;

• IoT devices may include legacy devices and connections incompatible with contemporary

identification tools; and

• IoT devices may be deployed in remote, dangerous or otherwise difficult to access locations

hampering physical inspection and/or connection.

Authenticate

• Able to accurately determine the provenance of IoT components from multiple manufactur-

ers;

• Provide IoT component operators with tamper evident proof of authenticity;

• Work in low bandwidth, low power environments;

• Limit downtime of IoT systems during authentication; and

• Provide valid authentication of dynamic, rapidly changing systems.
