It is connected between line and earth so diverts the incoming high voltage wave to earth.

When a lightning surge travels along the power line to the arrester, the current from the surge is diverted through the arrestor in most cases to earth.

A Current transformer (CT) is used for measurement of alternating currents.

A Current transformer is 400amp to 1amp step up T/F . CT is connected in series with circuit.

The load on the power system is varying being high during morning and low in evening which increases the load current. This result in the

decreased power factor. In order to improve the power factor come device taking leading

power should be connected in parallel with load . One of device can be capacitor bank.
