eVisa Key Objectives

Including: • Replace and enhance current system

• Enable users to apply, pay for and process visas online

• Automate visa process

• Interface with other Government Entities in support of visa processing and

security clearance process

• Enhance visa process by eliminating manual data entry, and perform pre-

validation of visa application

• Electronic library of all associated documents including applicant photograph

• Enable flexible enquiry and reporting capabilities

• Improved transparency on visa status to companies


VIS Key Objectives

Including: • Integrated and interactive Advance Passenger Security Screening using

Advance Passenger Processing (APP) system.

• Integrated Entry / Exit System that processes all individuals that enter and

leave Oman through air, land and sea borders

• Capability to integrate with existing biometric and mainframe systems

• In-country event risk management

• Integrated information reporting by other government organizations (e.g.

Ministry of Manpower)

• A person centric database

• Risk assessment at time of ticket issuance against:

• National Watchlists and Risk Assessment

• National Passport and Travel Visa database

• APP is a Common Border Management
