THE SIZE OF THE DANISH WATER SECTOR
The equivalent of 7,000 full-time employees working with water in
Denmark, excl. the utilities (+50,000 employees in Denmark) [+4,000?]
The companies have +36,000 people working with water outside Denmark
Total number of people in the “Danish” water sector actually working with
water is 43,000
The utilities working (water abstraction, distribution and waste water)
represent another 5,000 employees
More than 48,000 people are involved in the water sector in Denmark
The turnover of 52 companies is around 600 million euros
– extrapolated 1.5 billion euros.

LOOKING AHEAD
Investment in water abstraction and distribution is continuing and in waste
water treatment it seems to be growing significantly (DANVA)
Companies are engaged in every part of the sector. Strongholds in low loss
in distribution, high security and tailor-made solutions
Room for improvement and collaboration especially in waste water
techniques and urban drainage
Employment in five years…
A growth marked and a growth sector worth joining!
