Its dispersiveness facilitated transmission and reception of detailed information, in real time, among loosely connected unspecified users.

The number of the mixi users in March marked the highest record;15 million users. It is the characteristic of mixi that women in 20’s account for the large portion of its users.The diary feature used to be the draw of the mixi.Now, the “voice” function similar to “tweet” is the most popular among the ever growing functions. Mixi resembles Facebook in appearance.The differences are :Message : message exchanged only within mixiFriend search : Search can trace back to elementary schoolName : Mixi doesn’t show real name.Compactness and exclusiveness is the feature of mixi.One of the weaknesses of mixi is its synch with external services.At the same time the function itself is self contained. Mixi is also weak in “real time”-ness.No pop up message sent and received immediately after any comment was made. And no chat function included.So it is easier for the third parties to develop application for Facebook rather than mixi.

GREE and mobage feature their “Social Game” : the platform for the game players can communicate through playing game. Their connection are purely virtual. Both companies are in the process of going oversea market.

・GREE has an orientation for diversifying their contents other than “social game”.

・mobage has an orientation for sticking to the “social game”.

mobage tie up with Yahoo! So Yahoo! ID(Yahoo! is the dominant figure in search engines in Japan. Not google!) can be used for PC version of their game platform. The company run the mobage is DeNA. DeNA deploys their social game business in Korea, China, U.S.A. and Netherlands.
