Dormitory Regulations3. Dormitory regulation: Students who have been admitted to live in the dormitories must stay for a complete school year; move-out in the middle of the term is not permitted. Exceptions will only be made because of withdrawing from university, serious illness, or moving (parents move to the country or city where the school is located). 4. Meeting guests: Only residents are allowed to enter the dormitory. Dormitory residents must meet with their guests in the common area. Inviting guests to stay overnight is strictly prohibited. 5. For safety reasons, the use of electronic appliances (electric irons, electric cookers, induction cookers, electric radiators, cooking equipment and television) is strictly prohibited inside dormitory rooms. Violators will be punished in accordance with Procedures for Managing Student Dormitories. 6. Valuable personal belongings should be carefully preserved to avoid loss or being stolen, the dormitory assumes no responsibilities for lost articles. 7. Recycling: Residents are required to comply with trash recycling policy. (Trash cannot be placed in corridors or courtyard); regular trash should be dumped into the garbage dumpsters.

Dormitory Regulations8.General regulations:1. Residents are responsible for maintaining dormitory property and must pay any necessary compensation for damage or loss.2. Cooking, drinking, quarreling, fighting, causing trouble and keeping pets is strictly prohibited in the dormitory.3. TV is available from 8:00am-11:00pm; visitors should leave before 11:00pm and are not allowed to stay overnight in the dormitory. 4. Violation of dormitory regulations will be dealt with according to Procedures for Managing Student Dormitories. Items not covered here will be handled in accordance with university regulations.

Off-campus tenants service

1. To serve off-campus tenants, class advisors please inform class leaders to collect basic information of all off-campus tenants, select class contact person and hand in related information to Housing Service Section as soon as possible.

2. Off-campus tenants visit will be carried out from November 22 to December 3, 2010. Class advisors’ participation will be included in outstanding class advisor evaluation, class advisors may go to visit students with drillmasters.

Traffic safety for motorcyclesTraffic safety for motorcycles ─ 1. Motorcycles should travel in the designated lane 2. Avoid riding in front of or beside large vehicles as they need more room when turning and have dead spots, therefore, avoid getting too close to them. 3. According to an analysis of the recent 3 years, 32.7% of auto accidents resulting in death took place at cross roads. For your safety, when riding through cross roads, decelerate or obey the motorcycle two-point left-turn rule.

Drug classification and penaltiesDrugs are categorized in 4 levels. Level 1 : heroin, morphine, opium and cocaine.. Level 2 : amphetamines, MDMA, marijuana, LSD, and pentazocine. Level 3 : FM2 and Ketamine. Level 4 : Diazepam, Nimetazepam, and Lorazepam. The maximum penalty for possessing, using, transferring, seducing others to use, producing, transporting, and selling drugs is death penalty or life imprisonment.

Drinking of alcohol is prohibited

For maintaining campus security and personal health, drinking alcohol is strictly prohibited on campus. Students who are drunk and cause problems off campus will de punished in accordance with the university regulations.

Punishment for drinking alcohol1. Article 9, item 24: One or two 2nd Level Demerits will be issued if students drink alcohol on campus. 2.Article 10, item 16: A 1st Level Demerit will be issued if students have been found drinking several times, cause trouble due to drinking, are drunk, or caught using illegal drugs.3.Article 11, item14: Observation or 2nd level expulsion will be ordered if students have been found to be drinking 3 times, causing trouble due to drinking or in a drunken state several times, gambling, stealing or using illegal drugs.4.Article 12, item 2: 2nd level expulsion will be ordered if students have been found to be drinking several times, causing trouble due to drinking or being drunk several times, gambling, stealing or using illegal drugs and have caused serious damage to the university’s reputation.

The new smoking prevention law will be enforced beginning January 11, 2009.

1. All indoor spaces on campus are non-smoking areas. Clear signs should be put at the entrance s and smoking related equipment are not allowed to be set. 2. Except designated outdoor smoking areas, other outdoor spaces are also non-smoking areas. 3. Violators will be punished with a fine from 2,000 NTD to 10,000 NTD.

Student Appeal and Review Committee Procedures

• If students believe a disciplinary action they have received is illegal or improper and damaging to them, if student associations or other related student government organizations are not willing to accept a punishment, or if other such cases occur, a claim may be filed with the committee.

• If students receive a Statement of Punishment from the institution regarding their personal studies or personal life which is unacceptable, or if student associations or other related student government organizations receive a punishment or some other resolution is passed which is unacceptable, they may file a claim in writing within ten days after the event has occurred. Claimants who make their claims late due to unavoidable reasons may seek permission from the committee.

MCU Teaching Excellence Project:English Last Mile Career Training Camp

English Last Mile Career Training Camp• Objective: Promote self-awareness and confidence,

cultivate interacting skills, communication and team work ability and English capacity.

• Activity:(1) Taught in English, encourage career class advisors to participate.(2)「 Learn by doing」 , provide group training that focus on

inspiration and practice. Cultivate career competence such as job field manner,

confidence, leadership, stress handling and teamwork via outdoor exploring lesson including sky rope, rock climbing, big swing, and river tracing.

(3) Compete in teams, departmental career instructor will evaluate outstanding teams and reward with monetary awards.
