ХІД УРОКУ

I.Мotivation

Dear children! I invite you to Vernisage. Look at these pictures.What can you say about them? How do you think, what do they mean? What association do they arouse in your mind? What are these pictures connected with?(Діти роздивляють малюнки та намагаються висловити власну думку стосовно того, з чим чи ким вони ці малюнки асоціюють. Діти вголос називають за допомогою малюнків, що малюнки асоціюються у них з Тарасом Шевченко).

II. Представлення теми та очікуваних результатів.

The topic of our today’s lesson is “Taras Shevchenko”, who is a national poet of Ukraine. By the end of the lesson you should be able :

to exchange information on the basis of the text for reading and of a given situation;

to read the text and understand its gist and details despite the national difficulties; to review and activize the words and word –combinations.

III. Надання нової інформації

1. Знайомство с біографією письменника та його творчістю. (Дане завдання учні готували заздалегідь, тому на уроці ця група учнів презентує свою роботу у вигляді колажу.Кожен учень презентує свій малюнок, який

відноситься до даної теми, наприклад портрет Т.Г. Шевченка, книга „Кобзар”, хата, де мешкав поет та інші.Кожен малюнок- це малюнок –асоціація.

Let us look through the text about Taras Shevchenko exercise 2, page 74. Write the words from the text which you can see at the collage. Children, write some key-words in your copy-books. Let us check key-words, name them. Who wants to answer?

2. Інтерактивна вправа „Навчаючи навчаюсь”.Do you know the biography of the national poet of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko? Now let us divide into groups. The first task for every group: join into groups and choose a speaker of your group. Each of group will take its own task and work together. We are going to work with a text. After that you must present your work.

Presentation of group’s reports. Each group presents result of its work.

3. Work with the poem “Kobzar” with aim of developing socio-cultural competention. I will read the text for two times and you listen to it attentevely. I start reading.

KOBZAR

The migty Dniper roads and bellows,The wind in anger howls and raves,

Down to the ground it bends the willowsAnd mountain-high lifts up the waves.

The pale –faced moon picked out this momentTo peek out from behind a cloud,

Like a canoe upon the oceanIt first tips up and then dips down.

The cocks have not proclaimed the morning,There’s not a sound as yet of man,

The owl in glades call out their warnings,

And ash-trees creak and creak again.

Now I am goimg to read it again and you task is filling in the gaps. Let’s start :

IV. Закріплення нового матеріалу.

1.Work in pairs. Imagine you meet Taras Shevchenko. What do you ask him? (Children work in pairs and then make presentation). Use new words from the text

2. Finish the sentences.

Taras Shevchenko is... He was born in...The most famous poem of Shevchenko is...“Testament” means... The name of Taras Shevchenko famous for...

3) making a senkept

Look at the blackboard. You see the word “Shevchenko’.What part of speech is it? It is a noun. Write others parts of speech such as adjectives, verbs, combnatuion of adjective and noun. Such exersice called “Senkept”.

4) Giving home work. Your home task is write acroverses with the word “ Shevchenko”.
