10 WORD STORY WRITING COMPETITION

DESCRIPTION

This competition is aimed at reaching the heights of your imagination yet enclosing it in aconcise 10 word window, like trapping a river in a beaker. Use the best possible words to

write a perfect story that fits 10 words. There is a choice of 3 pictures. The participants will

choose one picture and write a story corresponding to that picture. Imagine the picture as a

topic and a source of inspiration as well.

Now if you think writing a 10 word story is impossible then well hey! People can do it in 6 as

well. Have a look!

You got it! This is work of great Ernest Hemingway who said he could write a story within 6

words or less! So here is your chance to give it a go!

NLC 10 WORD STORY

RULES

The story must not exceed 10 words. All entries are to be in ENGLISH language.

The, it, on, I, A, as, at are all considered as words, whereas punctuation marks likecomma and semi colons are not regarded as words.

Use of profanities and immodest language will result in direct disqualification. All entries are to be ORIGINAL. Detection of plagiarism will result in direct

disqualification.

Per person there is only one entry allowed. The entry format is shown below. The entry not according to the following format

will be discarded.

The decision of the judges will be final. The deadline is 25th August before midnight. Late entries will not be entertained.

PERKS

The winning story gets to be at the front page of the literary magazine The Circle. The other position holders get a mention in the magazine. The top 3 get a free copy of the first literary magazine The Circle by NUST Literary

Circle.
